Best Soccer on PS2.

I bought this game after playing and conquering FIFA 2003. I was very unhappy with Fifa and sold it wihtin severals week after buying it. I was reluctant to buy any other soccer game on the PS2, until my friend inform me that this game was a much better game. Enough of the history, about the game:
The game has a various area but I will focus on 3 main ones that I use: (1) the Training sessions, (2) Match Play and (3)League play.
(1)Training is very well done, training is broken into various sections (eg passing, shooting, pk, etc.) This helped me understand the buttons and refine the special moves. would recommend if you are having a tough time playing the game.
(2)Match Play: This is very quick method of playing, national, league or 'create your team' play. The game play is really well done and the settings of the annoucers are flexible (mentioned below). The stadium images are great as well the playability and ref calls are pretty on the spot. You will have a tough time winning a league if you are not competitive in this play.
(3)League Play: This is the next level of play from Match Play. It is great that you can select the teams you want, you can make as competitive (or not) as you wish. All the great playing features mentioned above are available on this play.
Special features for me were:
- Saving some of your goals is the best way to show off your goals and compare moves to friends.
- Annoucers language settings (spanish, italian, french, etc)

Would recommend to all soccer fans, great for individual play or group play!

WE 6 is the best soccer game I have ever played, since the day I bought my play station 2 I've bought the FIFA soccer games 2002 and 2003, and they are really good games to play too, but not as much fun as you can get with the Winning Eleven 6. WE6 has the best gameplay, you can spend hours playing with friends, the gameplay makes this game very challenging and exciting. You really get into the game and feel the excitement of winning and losing.

Before writing this review, I was reading the reviews of some other people who don't really know what the ---- they are talking about, some people gave two stars to this game just because he or she thinks that it is too hard to beat the game in difficult mode, I mean what the ---- do you expect to see in difficult mode. some other people said that the people who gave the wrong names to the players should be fired, there goes another dummy, they didn't get the right names because they don't have the liscence, not because they didn't want to, but that can be fix, you can just fix the names yourself. And at last, Some people are saying this game is the best and all but they are not giving the game any stars. Are you retarted or somthing????.. well i'm bored so ill go now, but trust me this is the best soccer game there is.

I used to be a fan of EA Sports FIFA soccer games but having played Winning Eleven I will never go back. Winning Eleven delivers a stunningly realistic soccer experience that requires concentration, creativity, and patience. It truly does make FIFA look like child's play.

In addition to the stellar gameplay the game offers an excellent variety of league and cup modes, plus a solid training mode.

The only negatives are that the game is not fully licensed so club teams have fake names and some players have fake names. Also the game does not feature any on-line capabilities.

Simply the BEST

Before WE6, I used to play EA FIFA, but there always were lots of things that I didn't like about FIFA (the GK was very stupid, no strategy, fair gameplay...)
But Finally... and I thank Konami for making such a great work with WE6... WE the Football (not soccer) die-hard fans are enjoying this masterpiece of Football-Sim
If you like arcade style, scoring goals shooting from midfield, dribbling every damn single player and scoring, setting your formation to a simple 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 (without any variants), so you better get FIFA, but if you really want to taste the Fútbol do not think it twice... you have to get WE6!
It is right, the game doesn't have licenced teams or players (some of the are real), so maybe for some people this might be a turn down, this is not a big problem because of the edit option... it is very easy to edit players and teams, so that is not a problem...
so if you are a die-hard soocer fan, GO AND GET IT NOW!!!

This game has gotten the most replay out of any of the games I own for my PS2! A must for every soccer fan. Great controls. smooth gameplay. I cant wait for the next in the series!

you can make(edit )your own team,grow it,earn money..
and scout zidane(fabulous player).
winning eleven supports hdd .
some how it made me totally rethink about sports games.
it's beyond fifa2003 ....way beyond...!

Before first playing the Winning Eleven on PS One, my favourite Soccer game was Kick Off which was a 2d soccer game. Never thought anything like Winning Eleven is possible. Konami has made improvement on WE 6 over the PS One versions.

You really need to know soccer to play this game well, and enjoy it to the full extend. I played it very often with 3-4 friends of mine, using a multiplayer adapter. It's not just pass and shoot but require team works and thought, and statergy. Remebember, in real life soccer game, the couch cannot call time out to discuss the over rall stratergy. So, the player has to talk among themselves and decide and make adjustment as it seems fit. That's how realistic this game is. I think it's one of the best multiplayer game out there, and possible one of the best sport game. Even when not playing, watching other play is just like watching a real soccer match! That's how entertaining it is.

Believe me... after playing soccer games since Atari...Nintendo...PC....Sega....Super Nintendo...PS2....

This is the best soccer game ever... Nobody can beat then.... The Best Electronic Arts can do is give Konami the Rights of FIFA...

i'm buying this game the first day it comes out! (along with 007: everything or nothing) i have played Winning Eleven Six International on a demo, and it was just amazing. i can understand now why everyone is so hyped up about this game!

Winning eleven as my review title says, it's the best soccer game ever made. The realism of the players' movements is amazing, the gameplay is fantastic. No more scoring goals from every angle of the pitch or dribbling through defenders as if you were having a picnic with the boys, these defenders are real, they can block you almost every shot or tackle even Zidane or Henry. On one-to-one situation you better be in a good position to kick or else, you can kiss your ball goodbye in to the stands. If you're a real soccer fan you'll be amazed with this game, because always gameplay comes before graphics. Don't worry if Beckham's face isn't perfectly seen, I'm sure you'll be stunned by the way he kicks the ball.
In every sense this game kicks 5 stars, don't be surprised if you look at your watch and realize that you've been playing for hours, definitely the best soccer game.
