If you're into party games, this one's for you. Played a few levels in story mode and that was great and quite addictive, but the Mini-games, in my opinion, is where this game shines. You have a wide assortment of these little games with different version for each, all of them great fun to play with another person or a whole bunch of people. And at $30, the price is just right.
Get yourself a multi-port, a bunch of friends and you'll be laughing, crying, and cursing for hours.
Great puzzle fun for all ages

Super Monkey Ball Deluxe is based on the standard labyrinth game. You rotate the map, and a ball rolls according to physics. The fun is in the maps you work with.
Yes, the ball has a little monkey in it, which is more for show than anything else. The graphics are reasonably nice here, but you don't need great graphics to show a ball rolling on a map. The same goes for sound - they're reasonably OK, but nothing spectacular.
In essence this is a puzzle game. You have a time limit, you have bonusses on the map. Your quest is to figure out how to solve the map in the time period given, while testing your reflexes in rotating the map properly to move the ball. You really do get some great lessons in physics here, learning how momentum affects the movement of the monkey ball.
There are a huge number of maps offered, so you can play on easy maps or really test your skills on the more difficult ones.
In addition to the single player games, there are also a collection of multiplayer games. Most are based on sports - you can target shoot, fly airplanes, play baseball, soccer, and more. Different games will appeal to different people - I didn't like the baseball game much, but I really liked the co-op work together aspect of target shooting.
Well recommended as a fun game for all ages, appealing to players who enjoy a combination of puzzles with reflex challenge.
Hours of fun!

Join the Super Monkey Ball Sensation!
So you look at the title, thinking "Super Monkey Ball...?"
Well, the game isn't just for kids. This game uses actual physics to have you roll a monkey around into a goal. But you can fall off by hitting moving objects, miss a landing pont, or just by accident.
What got the good reviews about the Super Monkey Ball series were its mini-games.
You can golf, race, bowl, shoot in dogfights or other people, countless hours on one mini-game.
Note:
If you look for fast loading, and good graphics, but sharp movement, I suggest the XBOX version.
However, if you don't feel the need to buy a XBOX, the longer loading time, and the framerate is tipped down a little, PS2 is right for you.

This is the newest installment of the series. In case you're wondering if this game is on Gamecube, IT'S NOT! A PS2 disk is 4 gigabytes. A GCN disc is 1.5 gigabytes. It needs more than 1.5 gigabytes. On to the review!
This is basically Monkey Ball 1&2 with 100 new levels. I'm not saying it's the best though. Yes, the graphics are great, there are 12 mini-games, etc. That's true; that's why I gave it 4 stars. There are some things that have been messed up, badly. 1 thing is the menu. It is so choppy! When you move level-to-level, it takes forever. To surprise, this wasn't messed up in the other games, even on GCN! I would recommend this IF you don't mind choppy menus.
8 year old loves it

This is the one game my son can get everyone to play with him. My husband and I have played and he even gets his grandmas in on the action when he can. Everyone has fun. It's one of his favorites.
Fun even for the grown-ups!

We fell for this game after a new year's party. After new years we looked everywhere for this game and could not find it. We finally were able to order it. Since it's arrival it has been great fun for the whole family. Great game for all ages above 3 years. Very fun at party's and my boys ( ages 3 and 4) enjoy playing with the monkey's. They aren't really doing anything but with the way the game operates the still have a blast. A very fun thing to do every once and a while.
