great family game

Great game for kids and/or other family members. The graphics were super and it was fun to play. The best feature was the ability to have more than one person participate at the same time. I would highly recommend this game.

Bassically, Shrek 2 is a pretty good game. It mixes some puzzle solving, sadly dull action and the movie's humor into one formula. The game allows 4 players to join in at once and roam across levels of Shrek's world while alternating between different characters to use their special abilites, strengths and weaknesses to get through the game. Familiar characters from the film franchise are included in the game including Shrek [Of course!], Donkey, Princess Fiona, The Gingerbread Man, The Big Bad Wolf, Lil Red, Puss in Boots and a few more. The game sadly doesn't have enough levels to play in to actually make it a game worthwile purchasing, since it can easily be beaten quickly. The game comes loaded with mini-games, such as catching eggs, stopping rats from devouring Jack's Beanstalk, collecting all of Humpty Dumpty's eggshell peices to "put him back together again" and even retrieving dropped "family jewels" from a troll that is lumbering around a museum in the kingdom of Far Far Away. It also includes fun sequences in some levels known as "Hero Time" where a certain character is taken through a single-player mission that vary, such as Donkey's where he has to fly Dragon to catch a runaway carriage, Shrek's to stop a street-fight, Puss In Boots to tiptoe and slide across vines and jump from platform to platform to operate an elevator and much more. This game is definetely not worth purchasing. My advice is to rent it, and if you enjoy it, as any game purchase it. That is if you haven't finished it already. This game is great for smaller children less then 8 years old probably. Older kids who play Teen games might prefer Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, a more advanced puzzle-solving adventure that is longer and probably more enjoyable.

I am seven. This game is pretty fun. My cousin who is almost seven and I play this together and we made it half way through the game. Now it is really tough. This is a good game for kids who have just a little experience with PS2. My four year old cousin plays, but he can't get as far as us. I need another controller so three of us can play all at once. That's the coolest thing- we can have a lot of players. It has pretty good graphics, but not as good as the movie.- review given orally-transcribed by mom. ;)

Fun Game

We found this game to be entertaining and fun. Haven't really seen any offensive scenes. Our kids love it. Players can change characters in a split second to achieve the necessary action. Warning: can be very addictive. The voices sound very much like the voices in the two movies, and the graphics are realistic. All in all, another quality PS2 game! If you like the Shrek movies, you'll love this game.

My 5 yr old's challenge

my son turned 5 in February and I purchased a PS2 as a gift and a few games. This the best gift ever---it took him a few days to complete the entire game because of the obstacles--now it's a whizz and he jumps in delight-he's one of the BIG BOYS now

This is a fun little game, but it should be longer.
Oh, and parents, the player has to be mean to animals.
Like one review said, you have to throw chickens in a pot of
hot water,(They are still alive)kill turtles, but you also
have to sing to knock black birds out of a tree so they can be made into pie, (I like black birds :( but it is just a game)
kill rats in the woods and the farm, (In the farm just to find a neddle and protect a growing bean stalk)and in the town, (They come out of a manhole)In the cave and the prison you need to kill spiders.(If you have a kid that will cry because of this, get Over The Hedge)Well, on to the grafics, they are all right. Nothing special. The Charectors are good. Overall, 4 stars.

The game has good graphics and smooth game play. No much character taking and no background music.

My 10 year old beat the game in 2 days. Glad we rented it and didn't pay $50!

Im pretty happy with this game.The only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the game was only good not great.you will definently enjoi this game if you like action/adventure/movie games with a little challenge.The graphics wont excite u, but the gameplay will. It is ur choice.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase this game because it got so many bad reviews (From Magazines, Amazon reviewers, and G4TV).

However, because I love Puss N Boots and because of the recent price drop, I decided to give it a go. Well, it's not like final fantasy (as many have compared it to). It's more like Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. The graphics are really good. To address another criticism, the game is not a cheap movie novelty created from left over scraps.

My only complaint is that you can't choose the characters you want for each level; They are choosen for you. However, you can switch from the 4 characters given and most of them are cool.

Camera Angles=3.5

Mostly young teens and under will enjoy this game. Even if you dont like shrek, this game will appeal to Grims fairy tale fans (like me). I got mine "new" from EBGAMES for only 9.99

We got this game as an after Christmas present and we are really enjoying it. My husband and I started playing it together after the kids went to bed. We found ourselves laughing out loud and getting very competitive w/eachother. We started playing it when the kids were doing homeowrk one night and it turned into a family event. Those w/certian "control" abilities were handed the game controller to take on the task at hand. When it was a single challenge each person got their chance to clear that part of the game.

Family game night now has another option in our house. No longer is it just board games.

We also enjoy the new Kim Possible What's the Switch game.
