I'm 13 and this game entertains me. It's not necessarlily the best, like the Ratchet and Clank series. This game would be good for younger audiences like children 6 to 9. Tak and the Power of Juju and Tak 2: the Staff of Dreams video games are just like this game. I would recommend all 3 of these games to younger game players.
A VISUAL FEAST FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE GLOWING THINGS....

I bought Scaler yesterday for $20 because I missed the jovial nature of platformers. Due to the influx of games that require re-mapped button schemes and "thinking", I decided to give my brain and stealth tendencies a rest and pick this one up.
FIRST OFF, I played this for 3 hours and got to the third level. The game has 10 in all folks!!!! and honestly, I wasn't really trying that hard. On several occassions i redid parts just to acquire the maximum number of "Klokkies". I also attacked everything in sight ( even the trees look like they can hurt you), and took a swim quite a few times OVERJUMPING certain platforms.
Honestly, This is a game where I actually want to take my time playing. It's easy, VERY EASY, but has charm and a heck of a lotta pretty *bleep*!! The colors are as viibrant as the dull PS2 can muster and the character designs are through the roof. Sometimes you just want to stop and watch an enemy before you easily murder it in a fit of claws and tongue. Scaler himself is sleek and cool, and wisecracking to boot. A very 90's lizard. His saving gace (and a very fun feature) is his ability to morph into specific enemies he's beaten. VERY CUTE AND ENDEARING, but also a change of pace from the Ol' tongue 'n' claw attack as the "morphs" have moves of their own.
Ultimately, I'm glad i bought it for it's uniqueness and style, but also sad that it it so short and unchallenging. WHY DOES THIS GAME GIVE YOU UNLIMITED LIVES? it doesn't punish you for falling off a cliff or dying, and that makes it even easier to beat!
GRAPHICS- 8.6 inventive, colorful, with great character designs
PRESENTATION-9.0 same look and feel throughout the game. The boards are a visual feast, but not as open as they appear to be.
CONTROL-8.8 once you get use to how he jumps, everything else falls into place. not many buttons to master. Morphing and "vine surfing" are the highlites of this title. Think Sonic as a Lizard at times. The camera doesn't face opponent at times, so be sharp with rotating view and center.....
FUN FACTOR-8.7 I did play for three hours my first time.....Unfortunately, a quarter of the game is completed! It's VERY EASY. However, if colors, glowing things, and lizards float your boat, get the title.
REPLAY VALUE- 7.5 You might pop this one in again to beat on a sunday evening, or to inspire you if you're an artist and wild about herpetology (like i am).
This game is great!

Hello, this is the son of the owner of this account.
I rented this game when I was like, 10, or somthin',(That rhymes)and I am now 13. This game is probably one of the best I've ever played! Scaler, a fighter for lizard freedom rights, is thrown into a world that you wouldn't even dream in your dreams, and is changed into the spieces he fights for. Humor rating is off the charts, and the actual storyline is good too! I really hope you buy this game.
