I was sorely addicted to Gauntlet: Dark Legacy and was eagerly awaiting this one to come out. My husband bought this for me last year for Christmas. Put it in and sadly, while it does rock pretty good while you are playing it and is a bit harder than Dark Legacy, it is really really short, fewer levels, no secret characters. I was completely done in less than four hours. I had beat it before Christmas was even over!!! Whahhhhhh. Just stick to the better Dark Legacy.
Decent game, too short

This game is not exactly like the original Gauntlet II for good old NES (one of my all-time favorites). The players all look the same color, and they blend into the enemies at times (hard to figure out which person on the screen is you, especially if you are playing in multi-player mode). Storyline is cheesy and unnecessary. And game ending is not rewarding at all. Game control/special items are cool, but I wish there was more to this game than there was.
definitely not worth it!

I tried this game out and found it to be horrible. The characters are boring and annoying, the graphics are a turn-off, and the storyline is extremely over-melodramatic. After the first intro I wanted to off the emperor myself! Believe me, this game is a waste of money unless you are really hard up for 2 player rpg games and can overlook pretty much 99% of the game just for game play
An okay game. Not as good as Dark Legacy!

This game is not as good as the previous version: Dark Legacy! I would still buy it if you are a fan of the games but it is a little harder to adjust to if you are accustomed to Dark Legacy.
ok but short

The game is ok for a quick game. It is very short. Can be beaten in a day.
Not that bad

I purchased and it wasn't as bad as the reviews said it was...I did give it three stars only because the game seemed short...most gaunlet games are pretty long....however I still have fun playing this game...me and my three kids...they really enjoyed it...I am wondering if some of the people who played...played easy...or impossible?...cause easy is very easy and maybe they should have tried impossible which was much harder..
Fun & easy

Not a bad game. It's fun to play but if you're looking for a challenge, not a good game choice, it's very easy to beat, it only took me a couple of days.
Great night's romp

I've been a fan of the Gauntlet series since 1986, so when I saw there was a new one I snatched it up. Seven Sorrows is really only Gauntlet in name, it only vaguely plays like previous games in the series, however in spite of that I found it very enjoyable.
Many people have complained that the game was too short, but for me personally this is exactly what I wanted. I occasionally have a few hours to spare on a weekend when I have a few friends over, and it's great to be able to play a game through and finish it before the night is done. We occasionally break out old NES games like Contra or Lifeforce for just that reason, it's refreshing to find that not all modern games require a huge time investment.
After playing through the game on the easier difficulties we tried on the harder ones, and had just as much fun each time. We have yet to beat the game on the Impossible difficulty level because we run out of time!
My only complaint is that I found that certain skills just work better than others. The way to be effective is to stick to the skills that work and avoid the ones that don't, and it would be nice if all of your skills were more useful.
Overall I really liked it. If you want a long in-depth RPG you'll want to look elsewhere, but if you're a casual old-school gamer like myself who only plays a few hours a week and still wants to beat a game, this is perfect.
