The Operational Art of War II: Elite Edition is a great war game with one major drawback: TalonSoft has released far too many versions of it. First there was the original, non-Elite release. Then came this version, and now we have The Operational Art of War: Century of Warfare compilation pack that contains this game and every other game in this popular series of operational-level turn-based war games. The Century of Warfare pack is a much better value than this single game, but The Operational Art of War 2: Elite Edition does have its merits for those of you interested only in battles that have taken place since the Korean War. The Elite Edition comes with both the original release of the game and the Flashpoint Kosovo expansion pack, which adds huge battles that will test the skills of any armchair general. Those new to the series can cut their teeth on smaller missions or shorter campaigns, as it takes a lot of practice to effectively use all the options (and information) at your disposal. This game puts the entire modern battlefield in your hands--air, land, and sea--and those three elements can get a little hard to juggle when the war is afoot. The only real problem we had with the game was that the larger battles tended to bog down all the systems we tested them on, so customers with older machines will have to stick to the smaller scenarios or upgrade their hardware. --T. Byrl Baker
 Pros:
 - A terrific bargain for those who missed this game the first time around
 - The Flashpoint Kosovo expansion adds a lot of value to the package
 - One of the best general operational-level war games ever made

Cons: - Nothing here for fans who already own the previous separate releases of these titles
 - Game runs slowly on all but the fastest systems
