Successfully complete the game to unlock more characters at the character customization screen.
Alternate costumes
Successfully complete the game to unlock more costumes. Additional selections will be unlocked each time the game is completed.
Sudden death mode
Collect over 7,500 points after completing the game.
Very Hard mode
Unlock the hard difficulty setting, then successfully complete the game under the easy difficulty setting again.
Hard mode
Successfully complete the game under the easy and normal difficulty setting to unlock the hard difficulty setting. Alternately, collect over 1,000 points after completing the game.

Enter the character customization screen and highlight the "Name" option. Quickly press L1, R2, R1, L2, L1, R2, R1, L2, Square. Press Left or Right to select a new character.
