much has been written about the character of this game and is not necessary to repeat. however, once past the rather tedious training, this game grabs you and holds on so tightly that you neither eat nor sleep (it rivals diablo in this respect); the story and play are that good. i have played it four times in a year and a half, the last on realistic difficulty, and it never loses its appeal. i have gotten to experiment with all the skills and all the augs, and i pick up nuances each time. the mac edition was available almost simultaneously with the windows. since this is the best game ever for mac (maybe windows, too) there is no excuse for its not being at the top of the sales, even at this late date. note that NOLF still is, and DEx came out at the same time, and the latter is a better game. if you want to see DEx II for mac, better get all your mac friends to buy #1.

This is my favorite video game. I've had it for a couple years now, and I can still go back and play it again. There's always something I missed before, something I didn't explore, a different approach to a problem. The only real issue I have with the game is that the plot gets really stupid about two thirds of the way through the game. The levels are all brilliantly designed and laid out. The missions are all fun and chalenging, except the very last level which suffers from sucktion. There is a lot of character interaction with poor at best voice acting. Still this is my favorite game.

Deus Ex, as anyone will tell you, is a hard but enjoyable game that takes a lot of patience. No complaints there. I was loving this game until the story line unfolds. It seems that there is a UN conspiracy to kill all ordinary Americans. Hmmmm... a plot worthy of a Nevadan isolationist loon. It gets worse as you play. If you can stomach it, buy the game, but be warned.

One does not play "Deus Ex"--one plays in the dark world of off-kilter chaos, oppression, and secrets. No one will have the same game experience as UNATCO agent J.C.Denton--one can play to take every enemy out--with extreme prejuidice--or one can play the way I play--combining stealth with sniper tacrics (and an occasional GEP rocket launched or LAM hurled for good measure.) Winding one's way through these graphics--from the sewers of Hell's Kitchen to the reflective floors of UNATCO HQ and VersaLife--will dazzzle one's eyes--feels like the silver age "Detective Comics" have come to life on my flat panel. The only game that will be better will be "Deus Ex 2"!

My Favorite Shoot-'em-up game

This is an awesome game. It has really nice graphics, a pretty good story, and is just plain fun to play. It has a wide array of weapons you can use. (My favorite is the Assault Shotgun).

My only complaint is that there's not enough light. Its really dark in some places, impossible to see where you're going. Especially when you crawling in the ventilation systems. Even when you have you're light on, you can't see the walls right beside you, you can only see certain parts of the wall.

Overall, this is a great game. Especially when you are angry, and need an outlet. Don't go on your nearest rooftop with a shotgun, just play this game. J/k. I hope nobody goes on a rooftop with a shotgun. But you should definetly get this game.

Yes This game realy fun but it is kinda boring for Four reasons:
1: it's always night (so far it's still always night, i'm on level three)
2: to dark, hardley can see.
3: Your bio-Energey (Like a batterey) never recharges on it's own
4: your light never works all that great.
Here are the good things:
1: Fun
2: destroy NSF (Some bad guys) guys with a GEP gun (and I mean destroy)
3: Flame-thrower
4: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (collect cash)
5: Hack in to ATM's (Collect Cash this way)
6: HACKING
7: Guns
8: works on a OS 10 G4! (with classic)
And one more problem
Bad Language
I would recomend it for ages 14 up

I really recommend you to buy this game. I beat this game only on easy buy it was so much fun!!!. Don't listen to anybody who says that enemy AI is unreal (I saw couple of those rewievs) but when I looked at their screenshots I understand that they cheated (they had a gun at place where you cannot get it yet anywhere exept cheating) and probably they were playing on EASY. OK. Try REALISTIC mode and they tell me about AI - ha??? Dead already??? This game is better then any other game that came out by now - music is beatuiful, grafics is awesome (but you REALLY need a 3D accelerator), story - I don't think it's close to other games or movies. And now you can play it multiplayer ONLINE with other guys by downloading multiplayer patch from internet (free). If all this don' t tell you to buy a game - donwload a demo (full first mission) and I'm sure you will buy it after you played it!!!

I used to think Jedi Knight was the best game of all time but this one beats even that great one. Others have done a great job of describing the game but I wanted to address the few people who didn't give this game 5 stars.

It seems the few that didn't like it were MAC users and they complained because it didn't work properly. I think that is more your underpowered imacs fault than the games. I have a friend that is a MAC user and he had no problems at all and loved the game.

No one seemed to mention the multiple plot lines or endings either. That makes the game replayable to the max! I will recommend caution though, this game will test any relationship because of its addictiveness. By all means buy it though, you only live once!

I don't relly spend much time on computer games. I've had some fun with starcraft in the past.. but that's about it. This one is a keeper though. I beame totally wrapped up in the game, how good the level design was (especially the beginning levels, i find the game quality fades a bit as the game goes on). there are always six different ways to solve a problem.. the game sleads to some very creative problem solving, leaving you thinking about how clever you just were when you threw the gas grenade into the room full of soldiers and snuck by them so that you'd have enough ammo to blow the robot up. you know... goofy computer game fun.
