Downloaded the public beta and it runs very well, my kids can't get enough. Graphics are good, play is smooth and realistic a few minor glitches but I'll buy it when it hits the shelves.
The most wonderful racing game i have ever played.

The first time i plaed the demo of this game i was blown away, the graphics were amazing, the tracks were extremely detailed, it was an overall great game. My friend told me he was getting me a mac game for christmas, when i opened the box i was so happy. I installed the game and played for about 6 hours. You can buy almost any 4x4 truck availiable and you can customize it beyond belief. The only problem in this game is that you can't buy Subarus, but the rest of the game outweighs this minor problem so much that i didn't think it deserved to be rated any less than a five. This is the best racing game i have ever played.

Bought the game and my kids can't get enough of it. Only drawback was running it on an iMac that is a year or so old. Slow response at times. Have to adjust many of the settings to get it to work well. Other than that it is well worth the money. Also, you don't need mulitple cds. Install on local machine and it runs w/o the cd. (Which is nice for those of us with multiple kids, mulitple machines on our own home network). Would be a great gift.
its an ok game

This is a good game for about an hour but then when you go to play it again it starts to get old fast. But its a good game with great graphics but i would highly recomend tony hawk 2 for the mac. It isnt as boring and it has many different modes to keep you interested. so you may want to take a look at that before you buy this one.

We have searched long and wide for an exciting game for our iMac (second generation)--that actually is compatible with System 9+. We finally found one! The graphics are very realistic and for the most part run quite smoothly on an iMac 400mhz. There are occasional "lock-ups" if there are too many keys pressed at once too quickly between games (i.e. Esc key). The play, however, is very exciting and the selection of vehicles, accessories, and courses most stimulating. WATCH OUT.....if you play this game for too long, you might get dizzy from all the thrills and spills....take your foot off the accelerator pedal and look away from the screen periodically! Navigation between the various modules in the game (profiles, shopping, racing, etc.) can, at times be a bit tedious, but overall an excellent game. ***REVIEW UPDATE***: We have further found that most of the lock-ups previously mentioned can be eliminated by removing the CD-ROM from the drive. The game still fully plays, but the music selections are a bit more limited--NOW even better!
The game that brought me to complete happieness!

The demo was great, the prices are cheap, and It can run on my first gen iMac.(rev D) Although, I was mad that the game includes no Jeeps, or no super heavy duty Chevys, although I may be wrong, since I only have the demo. I am pleased that there is no invisible walls that force you on the track, and the sound track is kind of annoying, but over all it gives mild thrills.
