I'm writing this review after reaching the last board so I think I can
highlight the action of this inhouse made Microsoft game. The
visuals on the spells is the only thing keeping me from utter
boredom.

First thing to get used to is how small the characters are. To get an
idea of this look at your thumb, okay that's the size of your main
character as you navigate through outdoor wilderness fighting
creatures half your size.

A zoom feature only works when you are not in combat, and that's
when you realize that the humans in this world are nothing more
than escapes from some child's Fisher Price Play set. Rounded
comical cartoon bulbous little hobbit folk. Saying things like "mommy
I'm hungry" indicating to me that this game is meant for 13 and under.

The story and the plot are themes that have been done over
time and time again. It's LOTR meets Willow and a dash of Ged
of Earth Sea. The combat is a sort of Diablo-Robotron run around
then dodge while throwing spells wildly. No real strategy just an
infinite army of color coded repetitive creatures bum rushing you.

With the lack of adventure titles for the Xbox right now this one might
hold you over till something better comes along (New Legends). So
far only Halo and Obi Wan have been the real enjoyable ones, the
kind of games where a whole day of playing seems like only an
hour. Max Payne and Batman were a solid notch down, mostly
because they were straight ports from other systems and offered
nothing more except jazzed up graphics.

Ok game. Not alot of options, such as limited spells and not much ability to grow

What were they thinking.

Is it possible to have an RPG with no movies. Microsoft seems to think so with their release of Nightcaster. This game is fine for a very young audiance (8-12), however for older gamers this is a bit childish. This game falls well short of my expectations.

If you like The Lord Of The Rings or Harry Potter..........

This Game is full of spells and i love it.
The light ones are soooo flasshy.
the other ones are cool, I like how the enemy don't chase you to the end of the level or not it'll be devestating. I like the orbs swettish accent. The houses look rather nice. But the hard point is you can't just save your progress, you need to find a nifty mushroom ring mostly guarded by enemies. If you love magic like me rent see if it tilts you then buy it if you like it.

THE XBOX VERSION OF LEGEND OF ZELDA-I WANT A SEQUEL!

THE GAME MOVES A LITTLE SLOW BUT IF YOU PUT THE TIME IN YOU'LL LIKE THE GAME(WELL, I LIKE IT.). THIS GAME IS MAKING MY MOUTH WATER FOR ELDER SCROLLS:MORROWIND. THE STORY REMINDS ME OF ZELDA. I HOPE VR1 DOES NOT FORGET NIGHT CASTER BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE IT AND IT LEFT ME WANTING MORE. ALSO IF YOU RUSH THROUGH NIGHT CASTER YOU WILL NOT BEAT IT, YOU'LL MISS A LOT, AND IT WILL GET OLD. THIS IS A COMBINATION OF ZELDA AND GAUNTLET LEGENDS AND I THINK IT IS VERY GOOD BECAUSE VR1 TOOK GAUNTLET LEGENDS AND GAVE ALL THAT BORING, SAME REPEATING FIGHTING A REAL PURPOSE. FOR FAST ACTION & CHALLENGING GAMEPLAY, I'D BUY IT.
