Dark Age of Camelot. The game features three different realms each with different races and classes to play. The three realms are Albion, Hibernia, and Midgard. Albion is mainly the defensive realm. Hibernia is the magical realm. Midgard is the offensive realm. These three meet up in the area called New Frontiers to duke it out with each other in order to control the castles of the land.
Albion consists of the remains of King Arthur's kingdom. The following races preside in Albion; Britons are the jack of all trades in this realm they can become every class and have balanced starting stats. Highlanders are the hardy human race of Albion and they are well suited to become many of the melee classes. Avalonians, these peoples are the most intelligent humans in Albion; they are well suited for the Mage/Elementalist classes due to their massive understanding of the arcane arts. Saracens are best suited to become rouges; due to their high dexterity they are very sneaky. Half-Ogres, these were implemented in an expansion to the game, their strength is higher than that of highlanders but they also have higher than normal intelligence (they are half-ogre half-Avalonian). Iconnu were also added in an expansion they have high dexterity and intelligence, making them well suited to become casters or rouges.
Hibernia is a land of lush green landscapes and powerful magic. The races of this land include; Celts, these are the jack of all trades in Hibernia, very akin to Britons. The Elf, elves are very skilled magicians this makes them wonderful spell casters. Firbolg's or firbys as they are also called are immensely strong and hardy making them wonderful choices for melee or healing classes. Lurkeens, keens are very small and have higher dexterity than that of even elves; this makes them the best choice for a stealther or archer in the realm. Sylvan were added to the game in an expansion, they are tree people (actually made of wood) and have a high affinity with nature along with good strength and constitution, making them good choices for healing or melee classes, you also see a lot of sylvan casters. Shar were added in an expansion to the game, they are the most evil race in Hibernia being that they are on bad terms with the other races of the land. They have a higher than normal strength and dexterity making them very good two weapon fighters.
Midgard, this realm is a land of high mountains, cold temperatures, and has very hardy races living within it. There are the small blue race of kobold, these quick little people vaguely resemble smurfs but are much more aggressive. They are suited very well for a defensive warrior or a stealthier. There are the monstrously strong trolls, who are made up of rocks these are the best suited for a tank class due to their abnormally high strength. There is the Norseman who is the standard human of Midgard they are well suited for all classes but don't excel in any one area. Dwarfs are very small bearded human like creatures they are simmi9lar to Norse but have a higher constitution and lower strength. There are the Valken who are distinctly dog like creatures; they are suited to become light tanks. The Frostalf are the class in Midgard that is best suited to become a caster.
These are the races of Dark Age of Camelot I hope that you find this review somewhat helpful in your decision to join a growing community. If you do end up joining our gaming community look me up sometime I'm on the Gareth server in the realm of Hibernia currently playing a Sylvan Valewalker.
So so.

I just want to say b4 I get started that I tried this game after enjoying World of Warcraft for a week or so. What does this mean? It means its like trying a biscuit after eating a pizza and giving a comparison...there is none.
The only reason I even downloaded this game was because I was waiting to get World of Warcraft after its open beta ended and needed something to hold me over. I read up on other mmorpgs out there and saw that this one was very close to WoW. It was...but it was much more boring.
To start, the camera movements were horrible, I couldn't even look behind me without stopping and turning around...this is rediculous when being chased by an enemy and not knowing when its safe to stop running. Moving from side to side(strafing) is slow as hell, to the point you dont even use it most of the time. Leveling is probably the worst thing about this game. You find yourself spending up to 3 or 4 hours a session beating on all sorts of wierd things trying to gain experience points. Masssssivvvveeee unbalanced issues with the character. For example: the fighter(warrior type) is stinged out so bad. He has no chance whatsoever against a caster. I started as a fighter and got to level 9 in about 2 days. When I made a caster I did it in a few hours.
To give the game some credit, it does have a helllll of a lot of stuff to do, you probably wont even do a quarter of the things you can do in this game b4 you are sick of it, but its still there. I was able to play World of Warcraft for 10 days straight. Every waking hour was spent playing or thinking about it. And when the beta was over it left me feeling like I just stopped doing a drug. I felt soooo bored with everything, and still do, which is why im here right now writing this review. The game is PURE masterpiece...its crack. You will be hooked for life, especially if you liked warcraft.
Oh enough of this...buy World of Warcraft, its 20x better...problem is wait a month or two because theres so many people playing it right now that its causing server problems...major ones.
Last year's model, buy Platinum instead of adding expansions

I worte a bad review on this game a few months ago, but now with all the anti-cheating patches mythic is coming out with, I give it 5 stars.. The new frontier looks sweet, and they did a A+ job revitalizing the rvr aspect. So mythic wins my subscription fees agian! Only down side is, there customer service needs to be improved. Also bringing servers down during morning hours is a drag:(
Very nice game

I downloaded the 7 day trial a few days ago and i'm level 10. I'm new to the game but I must say this game is outstanding! I have been playing constantly, it's hard to go to work in the afternoon when all you want to do is play this game. I was playing Everquest for 4 years, and Recently Lineage 2. I have quit everquest, and am going to be cancelling my billing on Lineage as soon as I get this package!. I cannot wait to play with the expansion, I love this game and in fact, My first night on the game, I got helped by a complete stranger. She helped me learn the controls and how to do everything! People are very nice on this game, I really recommend this game over many of the game i've played.
Huh? This games graphics seem 2000 years old!!!

I don't understand who likes this game? The graphics are VERY ancient. There also is no adventure to this game. The only thing you do is level, and level, and level. The adventure tasks that your trainer gives you have about 30 words in them, that's all. 30 words that's all, thats the big adventure in this game? To show that your in a city, there are 4 or 5 stones around in a circle, thats it. I think a high school student could of done a much better job. By the way I only played Midgard, I don't know about the other realms.
But don't take my word for it, you can download and play for free. Just check out the graphics, and redundant music, its embarrassing. Go to the co. main website download the game and play for free if you really want to see BAD.
Haha!

This game is so cool! Ha! I love it.
You can choose between 3 realms and then choose your race and job. You can go into the frontiers to fight other realms. You can stay in your realm and group with people and go on raids. There are many servers including PVP where you can fight anyone, anywhere.
DARk AGe Of CAMELOt and FINAl FANTASy XI are the best fantasy online games ever!!!

This game was just outstanding, up to there Trials of Atlants. ToA, changed all formats of the game. You now need not only just a level 50 but the ToA to just survive in this game. If you are looking for the great reviews of the game of DAoC, they are gone.
Anyone starting out new will have the worst time in leveling because all that have level 50 char's do /level 20, so the new person on the block is for the most part out. If some one gets this with out ToA, you will not have the fun that was once there in this game. Over all i will now give this a 1 star from a 5 from 1 year ago and the reason being that anyone that starts now will have a long time too go be compairable to some level 40's. If you think you would like to try the game you will have to get ToA and spend the time to get a level 50 and then try to get there newer stuff in ToA too event survive. Its a sad day for Mythic on New Additions
everyone here who gave it a low rating is stupid

I have been playing for 2 years and the reason why people gave it a bad rating is cause they diddnt follow the rule book or look on the herald. most likely if someone heals themselves during a battle with you and you lose they have ignore pain which is a 100% heal in combat you an only achieve this buy using around 20-30 realm points which is hard to get. another one is dont be stupid about billing. set it up for the 1st one and if you dont like it just go to the start screen, go to billing, and cancel it. its that simple! the only thing bad about this game that i agree with is PvP now a days its mostly whoever has the biggest zerg wins. but in the next few months the frontier patch is coming out which will change everything. so get the game! its great! its fun! my character is on Midgard Merlin name JaggedFel you have any questions if you start to play ask me...hope this helped you
