Five Stars

I give this little mighty-might version of Asteroids, a Five Star rating. I'm a foury-year old (young) man, and this is a 1980s version (black & white, stick-figue) display. If you played this original version, you'll like this one. It also has an optional, blue background, which is awesome. The other re-veiws, are probably from 1990s,color verion player, second generation. If you're looking for the original version display,(black&white) get this one. Now, if I can get this on my lagre T.V. screen, I'll be a happy camper.

Terrible conversion of classic video games

I was disappointed with Destination Software's "Gauntlet/Rampart" cartridge but my hopes were up with the "Millipede/Lunar Lander/Super Breakout" cartridge which was decent. So I bought this cartridge and I was very, very disappointed.

Asteroids has terrible graphics and animation--it does not resemble the arcade version, and in this version it is done very poorly. Yar's Revenge is somewhat better, but it was done half-heartedly--I have the Atari 2600 version at home and I can tell the differences.

As for Pong, I suppose it resembles closest to the original compared to the other two, but then it was not that difficult to do so. I swear that the collision detection is not precise as I saw the ball pass through the paddle a few times.

Avoid this title at all costs.

Should be called "games INSPIRED by Pong, Yar's Revenge, and Asteroids...

With the easy availability of excellent emulators and retro-gaming stores, this is a fundamentally unnecessary title. I picked it up hoping to get a playable version of Yar's Revenge for my GBA to liven up my trainride to work. Sadly, this is NOT Yar's Revenge... it is obviously recently programmed by someone who seemingly never played the original. Key feature of the 2600 game are absent, the graphics resemble a late 90's java game from the internet, soundfeedback issues would violate the Geneva convention, and the pace is SLOOOOOOOOOOOW. Essentially, the only thing going for it is that it kinda, sorta, uh, looks like Yar's Revenge. I can't speak to Asteroids and Pong, but enthusiasts for those games have expressed a similar disappointment. If you want retro fun for the GBA (especially Atari 2600 titles), order the Activision Anthology- where the original games are directly emulated. This gamepack, sadly, makes Yar's about as much fun as SARS.

This is...horrid.

Wow, I can't even begin to tell you my extreme disappointment in this game.

It's nothing like Yars' Revenge, Asteroid, OR Pong! They're all WRONG! Everything feels clunky here, and none of the games are even close to the original, they feel like early betas of clones of these games, but definitely not the games themselves!
