What's all the fuss about?

I had read so many reviews about how awesome this game was. So I bought it. After playing it for twenty minutes or so I was bored with it. It's not bad, and I can see how some people might like it. But really, it's nothing to rave about. Sorry Daxter, but you really didn't impress this gamer.

it sucks

This game is not action packed, its really really slow and boring.
This game may be fun for kids but definitely not for a teen.

Don't waste your money on this game, it looks fun, but when you actually play the game, its really really very very slow and boring.

Overall:
Don't buy it, its slow and boring for teens.

Daxter is a great game to keep the kids occupied, but offers little in the way of adult entertainment.

Whats all the hype?

Ok if your just a person looking for a good game to sit and relax and play then read my review.

First off lets start with the graphic quality. People say the graphics are amazing. Are they really? The answer is no. I mean for that small of a system they are good dont get me wrong but people act like the graphics are the best ever and no there not they look like all the other psp games. So finnaly I give graphic quality a 7 our of 10 because they are good for such a smalll system but people stop exagerating.

Ok now moving on to the gameplay.Let me tell you this, I havent played the other Jak games so I dont know the hole story or anything but that should be no reason of what I think of the over fun of the game. Ok well I can honestly say I have not beaten the game yet but so far it is pretty lame. You find yourself doing the same things over and over and after awile you will come along a fun little even. I mean think about it, your a little weasel thing running around with a fly swatter hitting bugs. How fun can that possibly get? Answer: Not very.
Camera angles can get very annoying right in the midst of action and cause you to die a lot. so overall gameplay I give a 6 out of 10.

Just please I beg you do not buy this game, rent it. It will keep you entertainment for awile but thats about it, it gets boring fast.

Very cool graphics, very good movement & response to controls, cool characters, beautiful environments. ...As Daxter, you're basically supposed to kill bugs & collect gems. And sometimes you have to figure out HOW to reach (or get into) certain areas, so there's a certain amount of "puzzle element" to this game. ....I must admit, I was a little bored with it in the beginning (ie: in the 1st-level hotel), but very soon after, the game just got more interesting! New enemies are added, new environments, bigger goals, better weapons...! This has turned out to be one of the more fun titles I've owned for the PSP! Plus it costs about $20.00 -- a very cool value! (NOTE: I made a mistake on the "star rating" but now I am unable to change it. I wanted to give this game 4 stars, not just 3)

It's okay...

This game was included with my recently-purchased PSP Slim.

Eh... it's okay. Actually, I suppose if you like Mario 64 style platformers it's good, but these types of games are just not my thing.

Could be better

This is a great game that will keep you occcupied for weeks but not beating it. It has the best Graphics of any psp game but it highly lacks a good rating because of the boss factor. Unlike many other good games, this game has about 3 or 4 boss levels that take months to beat. Not even I have finishefd the final boss level and I have had it almost as long as I can remember.

Nice plataforme, yet it aint groundbreaking

To be honest, i haven't played fully this game, overall this games is easy and entertaining if no somewhat standard, it got weapons, puzzles, collection tasks and plenty of areas to explore, yet i find it, just, no THAT fun, i have just give it away to a 12 year old cousin that might like it more.

Cheers

Great game, no replayability

Daxter, is a great game. It offers unique levels, challenging bosses, and several vehicles levels that vary from driving and gunning. It is pretty easy to pick up and just start playing. However if your used to the sensitivity/accuracy of the PS2 dual-shock analog sticks you'll be disappointed with the PSP. It is not a problem with the game but actually the hardware. It caused me several deaths during the construction site level when I was running along open steel girders and a slight tap of the analog stick sent Daxter plumiting to his doom. It was not as bad as it might seem since you can save at almost any point in the game, the load times are fast, and you have unlimited lives as far as I can tell. Overall the game provided a solid 10 hours of fun. My favorite part of the game had to be the dream sequences when you play some of the most memorable scenes from movies such as the Matrix, Lord of the Rings, or Indiana Jones. What I thought was a major downfall of the game was the lack of replayability. You collect orbs and other items throughout the game, and unlock special features like the ability to watch any cutscene again. Which is pointless if you have already beat the game you've seen everything. There is a Bug Combat minigame that you can play, but when you break it down all your doing is playing paper-rock-scissors.

Conclusion: Daxter is a great platformer that will keep you busy for hours. In my opinion it is one of the better games for the PSP. It was fun throughout the whole game, but when I beat it I just didnt have any desire to pick it back up.

A pretty good game

This game has alot of things to do for a while but it isn't very hard. I really thin it should have been a lot harder and a little more open. But overall I think it is pretty good.
