'TY the Tasmanian Tiger' is not only the birth of this new hero, it is also his death. When a character debuts, there's certain rules you need to follow. EA sure thought 'TY' would be the next big thing. Instead they get nothing but a waste of plastic shoved in a DVD case. I have several gripes with everything related to this game. First of all the ad campaign which the game completely undoes. It pictures TY walking through a hospital bedroom where Spyro, Crash, and Sonic are in body casts, suggesting that TY is so tough that he can break every bone in these famous and much more loveable character's bodies. RULE 1: Make the character cute...FAILED. Secondly, the game itself is terrible. The camera could easily give you motion sickness. Many platformer games these days have camera problems but this is ridiculous. It's zoomed in way too close to TY and it insists on keeping itself stuck to him. The character designs are nice, but they move terribly. TY and his enemies are stiff and rigid and not when you take time to look, just obviously. The story is weak: "Find your family", wow. Haven't heard that one before. The controls are evil as well. You have to practically break off the control stick to move sometimes. RULE 2: Have a good game...FAILED. Finally, this just doesn't compare to any other platformer game because it is so subpar. Spyro, Crash, Sonic, Mario, Sly Cooper, and Blinx are all much more challenging, and fun. RULE 3: Be at least even with other games...FAILED. In conclusion, I think we know why the Tasmanian Tiger is extinct.

An Xbox game for kids (finally)

1. If you're a "hard core gamer" don't bother, but...

2. If you have kids that are 7 or so and want something a bit challenging, but not frustrating, this game is fun. Much better than the "Crash Bandicoot..." which was released earlier this year. I'm sure it'll get old after a fw weeks, but not as frantic as "Blinx" and something fun to play with the kids (and when they fall asleep slip in "Hunter the Reckoning.")

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger - A GREAT GAME!

I loved this game. The graphics were beautiful. Both my 3 year old son and his dad, who normally enjoys games like Mech Assault got into this game. Ever since we purchased this game, I've been looking for something comparable, but nothing comes close. I can't wait for Ty II. The bottom line, you can't go wrong with this game. It's fun, and very entertaining. Easy for little ones to play, and fun for adults as well.

Awesome Game!

This game is a great game to play. It's not so much an easy game to play but it's no a hard either. It is smack dab in the middle. The three best features of this game are:
________________________________________

1) The weapons. There is no other game out there that would go far enough to invent different bommerangs with all different abilites.
2) The characters and enemies. Who would dress the characters up in jackets, etc. The characters are very different and unlike every other game (except Spyro, those characters are different and creative)
3)The Plot. Even know it repeats the same all "Must Find Family" routine it still gives the game something to play for.

This is one of my favorite games that rank right up there with Spyro, Crash, and Sonic. ... The enemies move great, Ty moves great, the camera angles are almost perfect and the game is so mych FUN to beat.

I just got this game and its great looking! But the navigation is a bit hard for kids well at least my kid, and for me. I read one review saying that their 3yr old was playing this game. I would love to see that, cause if I had some trouble with Navigation I can't imagine a 3yr old.

But all in all its a great game, good music, good everything.

Just not as easy as some of these reviews say...

Good Luck and enjoy it!

keeps them entertained

My 6 year old will sit and play this game for hours. It is a little hard for him at times but he enjoys it, and so does his step-dad. He wanted a game to play and this just happened to be the one we found. Terrific! They just need to put out more games for kids now! If you want a entertaining and non-violent type game for your kids...this is a good choice!

Ty is awesome....

Although I've played the PS2 version of this game,I've seen the other versions and the Xbox and Gamecube versions are basically the same. What makes Ty awesome is the enduring charm of its' own. I mean, how many games do you know that has outhouses for checkpoints for you to go back to? Given, it does take alot of ideas from other video games(like Mario, Crash, Spyro and Banjo) but its' charm was what brought me back over and over. With all the other platformers planned for the Christmas season, Ty might not be the next big hit but you can guarantee that he will definitely have a cult following of his own. I'll be amongst them, you can bet on that. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a cool game and definitely worth a look.

An Excellent Game for Kids

This game is relatively easy, but it is quite fun nonetheless. My six year old completed the game with only a little bit of help from his dad and me. It is always difficult to find a good game that the little ones can play without becoming frustrated. This game caused no fits or meltdowns. I was really happy with the purchase and I had fun playing the game myself when my son was not monopolizing it.

Love it!

This is a fabulous platform game, in the spirit of Mario, Spyro, Crash, Banjo... There's not much truly new here except for the gorgeous graphics; but if you liked those games, you'll like this one. (One nice touch: the bosses' hit points aren't restored every time you die.)

Good one for the kids too. It's approachable, funny, and non-violent. (You toss boomerangs at cartoony enemies and they vanish in a skull-shaped puff of smoke. No gore.)

great overall game

I loved this game. My kids (7 and 4) loved this game. The graphics, music, storyline are all good. The only downside was the final ending - it tooks weeks of hard work to reaqch the final ending and then it was a bit anticlimactic since one would assume a big splash at the end and instead it was nothing special. But I still highly recommend this game to families.
