tennis can be fun

Perhaps the best XSN game and more. Tennis may sometimes be crap, but not in this game. This masterpiece will blow any other tennis game away! definetley the best sports game this october of 2003. You will love yourself for picking this over
espn nba baksteball, nba live 2004, amped 2, and SSX3! Yep, it's that good!

Great Tennis Game

Top Spin is the only tennis game I have played for Xbox, but it is certainly one of the best. I'll break down the goods and the bads for you:
GOOD
The graphics are THE BEST I have ever seen.
The sound effects are perfect . . . you can here the players groaning and the crowd cheering.
The game contains most of the world's elite tennis players but NO ANDRE AGASSI.
You can play in either smaller tournaments or Grand Slams all across the Globe.
The different types of courts: clay, grass, composite. You can feel the differences in the playing surfaces like you couldn't believe.
You can choose from any type of sponser you want, who will give you free gear the better you get.
You get to train what parts of your game that you feel need improvement.
The controls are easy to learn and easy to use.
You can choose what type of swing you want to put on the ball(lob, slice, normal, top spin, risk shot, or drop shot)
Long career mode in which you create your own player

BAD
You cannot save the game in the middle of tournaments, which means you either have to play all the way through or for-feit.
There is not that much of a difference between the #2 player in the world and the #22 player in the world difficulty wise. They should have made the higher ranked players harder to beat.
Xbox Live was Big Disappointment.

With the goods easily outranking the bads, I strongly suggest you buy this game. Its fun to play and provides great entertainment.

There is no other tennis game out with better graphics or more realistic game play.If you have xbox live the fun only gets better no lag and plus it has quick play matches.This game is the real deal it puts virtual tennis to shame the PS2 couldn't eve get close with the graphics alone.

I bought this game a day ago and it is crazy the graphics are tricked out you can see players so well it is awsome. Game play is quick to learn I was winning within minutes literally. I would sujest this game if you buy the holiday bundle of X-Box and definetly to tennis game fanatics who own a x-box. But the characters are limited and game play does get boring pretty fast. It is a good game overall though.

I love tennis, love watching it, love playing it, unfortunately when it comes to videogames tennis isnt that heavy of a hitter, the last game to come out before this was Sega Sports Tennis which was as the Comic Book Guy would say "best tennis game ever," and that was a while ago. I wish this would come out on PS2 so goddamn much! I stumbled upon it at a videogame store and was very impressed. Considering Id never played XboX before the controls were pretty easy to learn, and it was very fun playing as my girl Anna Kournikova (wish she was in Sega Sports Tennis!) although this game's gameplay is a lot more sophisticated as Sega Sports Tennis, but its also a lot more realistic. SSN's CPU was ridiculously tough at times (HARD and VERY HARD difficulty) this game the opponents seem to be a little more down to earth. If I had XboX Id buy this game in a second, but until then Ill have to hope it (or something like it) comes out on PS2...

I purchased Top Spin not even owning an XBox! Can you believe it? Plunking down $50? Call me stupid, but those marketing guys are good, really good! And the visuals for the game are unbelievable.

Well my buddy brought his Xbox over and we played and played and played and played... My buddy left his console at my house, and needless to say I haven't had much sleep the last week, all because of Top Spin. It is fun, especially if you love tennis, which I do.

It takes time to learn all of the controls, but once you do, it's a blast and it's even fun while you learn. I am having so much fun in career mode. I created a dorky looking guy with my dog's first name and my last name... and he's currently #5 in the world!

I know this isn't sounding too much like a review, but being a self-proclaimed "non-gamer", I really do love Top Spin.

If you love tennis, you'll love this game too!

You know I am not much of a fan of real tennis, but I had the first version of this game on the Dreamcast, which like this one ROCKED... Now you can play against real Tennis pros like Anna and Pete Sampras, even though he is retired... isnt he??? Anyhow the matches are challenging later in the levels, the skill challenges get really hard, well for me at least... I always have trouble with serving...

Great added shots like power strike and an awesome drop shot...

Play Tennis and enjoy!!! Get to number 1 if you can!!!

Also this is XBOX live... which I havent tried yet but I could only imagine playing against real people will set this game off the hook!!!

What a great tennis game for xbox!!! The game is fantastic. Great Graphics, a wide variety of tennis courts and tennis stars.
I just need to keep practicing, so that I can beat some of the 'kids' who are whipping this 35+ year old.

Im going to try to be as clear as I can, while being completely unproffesional about it; Don't listen to the whiny haters. Those who claim the system is "frustrating, annoying, difficult" and such simply don't know how to play the game or are defficient at games in general. This game IS better than Virtual Tennis. It's more addictive, more fun, fuller, deeper richer, AND with a carreer and online mode that is plain awsome.

If you like a challenge, like pretty visuals, and just enjoy sport games in general, you'll appreatiate all the aspects of this game. With deccent practice one can perform all the super tacticle moves such as the risk shots as smoothly as the A.I in the game, and even if perhaps the difficulty is unstable, it really won't matter once you commit just a few hours into learning the stradegies of the game, and tennis in general.
