I have a 360 and bought it for that and it is amaing and briliant. with the over the shoulde view like re4 it brings a new feel to gr which is good i never even liked the older 1's but this 1 is amazing the only difrence between the xbox and 360 versions r the grahpics they r amazing on 360 but still very good on xbox. The campaign and online modes r amazing some of the best iv ever seen and even an online comapign mode with missions just for online play. dont rent this game BUY IT TODAY!!!!

Don`t bother with the XBox,PS2(GameCube?) version if you have an XBox 360-By all means get that version.
XBox has NEVER recieved a rubbish Ghost Recon game until this Ghost Recon:Advanced WarFighter also called Ghost Recon 3,GRAW and GR3AW.
the original Ghost Recon was good,GR2 and GR2:Summit Strike were VERY good. But GR3 just gets rock-bottomed.
I don`t have an XBox 360 myself but i have played the X360 version on a demo at a video-games shop and LOVED it.
I rented GRAW on the original XBox(which i have as well as a PS2 and GC) and i saw how different it was compared to the 360 version here:
-In the 360 Version you can switch between 3rd Person and FPV-but on XBox you can`t,you only have FPV mode!
-On the XB version you can`t jump over walls or anything.
-the 360 Version has WAY better graphix(or coarse)

If the XBox version is bad-It will be WAYYYY worse on the PS2 and GameCube so AVOID THIS GAME UNLESS you have an XBox 360.
I know the PS2 version will be worse because they get all the bad GR games since UbiSoft is SO biased to the XBox series when it comes to Tom clancy games.Although Rainbow Six seriesmon PS2 are good.
So f`get this version and get Full Spectrum Warrior:10 Hammers when it comes out at leasr FSW:10H will be better than the XB version of GRAW.

I was a little too excited when I bought this one for my Xbox. I own GR2 and Gr2 summit Strike and loved how they were designed. In Advanced Warfighter, there is no more first person for the Xbox version. Not a big deal, but I still would have liked it to be in 3rd person. Unfortunately, there is no prone.....I don't know why that is. Multiplayer is pretty fun, but it can get choopy at points. I think Ubisoft should have fixed this. I would rather have a game held back a month than have a bad laggy game. Overall, I like this game. Weapon selection is great! I do however think that GR2 and Gr2 summit strike are the better multiplayer games.

All Hype

After waiting what seemed like an eternity for this game to come out, I can only say it was an utter disapointment. I have truly enjoyed every Ghost Recon up until this one. With hopes of good online gameplay, my friends and I purchased this game only to find out the online gameplay is tedious to initiate and full of bugs to play. Limited number of players is definitely a huge negative for this game for the online play!!
Even in the single player campaign mode, the Xbox tends to bog down when the action starts to get intense.
Expectations were high for this game, especially with all the advertising that was done. However, I found it was more hype than performance.
It is still worth playing, but not worth the pricetag.

Avoid at all costs!

Thank goodness I rented this before I bought it, talk about a complete waste of 2 hours of my life. The frame rate is horrible and overall the fun factor is not there. I tried to push through a little further praying it would get better, but it never happened. Too bad all the hard work is going into the 360 while we're getting left with this heap! What are you doing to us Ubisoft!

Oh the shattered dreams of what could have been a great game.

Let me quantify the situation this game came into: My friends and I (any where from 3 to 16 people sometimes, most times there are 8 of us) get together at least once a week to play Halo, Halo 2 and Ghost Recon 2 (mostly Summit Strike). This week, two of our friends had copies of Ghost Recon 3, and we were prepared to be amazed.

Well, we were. By the absolute lack of any good multiplayer. There is no split screen Missions beyond the 2 player cooperative missions (which I'll get to later). When we tried to create an adversarial game, the primary Xbox allowed only one player to join and the other stayed at the loading screen for about 8 minutes. Unless we did something wrong, it seems like the only way to do a 7 player multiplayer game is to have 7 xboxes, 7 tvs, and 7 copies of the game. So we went back to GR2, and it was good.

Later, after everyone had left "Oh, it's 3 am, we need sleep", two of us stayed up and played an hour and a half of the co-op game.

First off, the game looks great. They have really gotten a lot out of the Xbox and I bet its amazing on the 360. The "HUD" style display is easily read, and makes it easy to react to enemies. The voices and ambient sounds are good as well.

Controls, while slightly different from previous versions and clunky at first, soon were easily learned. One realistic addition is the shake. As in real life, no one can hold their gun perfectly still, espcially while firing. But with the sniper rifle, just hold L3 and you will hold your breath, steadying your hand for a stealthy kill or two.

Unfortunately, you cannot choose your weapons, at least on Co-op mode. But, you do have two primary weapons to choose from, a gunner and a sharpshooter. Also, you have grenades and the oft under-utilized pistol.

So in conclusion, will I play this game again? Maybe. Definately maybe. Will I BUY it? No. Not at all.

Oh, and for all of you aspiring demolitionists out there, here's a hint: When you have to (or want to) blow up a vehicle, you will usually need 2 frag grenades. And once the 2nd explosion goes off, don't stand too close to admire the fire... the vehicles don't explode until roughly 15-20 seconds go by.

KRAP DESCRIBES THIS GAME!

UNLESS you have got an XBox 360-I reccomend that you DO NOT buy this game.
Its choppy in visuals compared to the XB360 version,You do NOT have 3rd Person View in this version(more specifically Over The Shoulder View) just FPV(not as bad as the FPV in GR1-You can see the gun in this one).
If you Only own an XBox(or even PS2) get Full Spectrum Warrior:10 Hammers when it comes out-Just avoid GRAW for XB and otehr this-gen consoles.

GRAW is just crap on XBox,
But it WON`T be the worst believe it or not the PS2 version will suck even more hell!

Here is the way i reccomend all GRAW ports:

XBox 360=BEST one available-9/10
XBox=rubbish slim compared to the 360 version-5.5/10
PS2=WILL BE worse than even the XB version=4/10
GameCube=Worse than XB version but maybe not as bad as PS2 version-5/10.

So XBox(and PS2) ownersAVOID this game its sh*te-But get Full Spectrum Warrior:10 Hammers.
XBox 360 owner?GET GRAW its the best on 360 yet.

So listen to the reviews and steer-clear of the XBox game called "Ghost Recon:Advanced Warfighter" but do get the XBox game called "Full Spectrum Warrior:Ten Hammers".
Stick with Ghost Recon,GRIT,GR2 and GR2:Summit Strike if you are a GR collector.(on XBOX)

Great game!

I am not an "action game player" (hate this type of games) but this is the only one which got me! I played all series of this game and I like it very much, especially where is the first person view. I think this is the most successful version. Better graphic and more realistic. Some saying that is more difficult to play but for me this is not a challenge at all. You just need to be better that's all. Unexpectedly for me I LOVE this game!

Better than the first two

Advanced warfighter in my opinion was better than the first two, and i will list the reasons. One, for me, i like to be able to see my weapon when i am in single player mode, in multiplayer it doesn't matter. Second, the graphics are superior than the first two, and the gameplay is just overall better. The first one, Ghost recon, was a little bloody, the second one, GR2, was better, and this one, didn't have blood splatters all over the place when you killed an enemy. The future force technology, however, was my favorite part of the game, and ultimately what won me over. The new technology in the gameplay made you feel like an elite squad of "Ghosts" with prototype technology. The gameplay was, a little unrealistic in the fact that you can take quite a few bullets before going down, but who knows what kind of body armor we'll have for the military in the future? The learning curve was huge, it took me hours to figure out how to do this, after dying a couple dozen times, but when you learn how to play it, it becomes fun when you have everything figured out. I would definitely recommend this over the Playstation version even though i'm a die-hard Sony fan. Graphics are better, multiplayer, and more features make for better gameplay.

Is NOT an improvment over the previous titles

I noticed that every Ghost Recon game is practically a completely new game, and although Advanced Warfighter is based on the same basis as the previous versions, this one has has several marked differences. For instance, the controls are very different, also the way you control your team is different. I liked and enjoy the gameplay very much, but that wasn't enough for me to like it overall. Actually, the game is excellent when playing alone in your Xbox, but playing on Xbox Live! is another story.

The graphics are good, but not as good as they should have been for a trilogy of games that have been on the same console (xbox) for a very long time. Everybody knows that when a new console comes out, the games aren't that good because the developers don't know the hardware/software very well yet, but they improve their versions with time. The original Xbox is now an old console and Ghost Recond 3 should have been a very big improvement over Desert Siege, Island Thunder, Jungle Storm, Summit Strike... When playing online you and your teammates move like a fixed bitmap. But, for me, the worst thing that I found with Advanced Warfighter are the awfully long loading times.

Let me tell you how it is how you play a new game with a friend on Xbox Live! First, you select Create Game, then choose the type of game: If you want to play cooperatively, you have only 2 options: a Combat, or a Mission. Forget about respawns, they don't exist anymore. Say you choose to play a Mission, wich you have to have finished before by playing the game on solo mode. You select from the opened available missions, just one (you don't have map rotation or anything else, the one you select is the one you will play). Then wait for an eternity for the map to load. Then the game goes to pause mode and you have to invite your friend to play with you. He/She accept the invitation and have also to wait for another eternity for his/her game to load. Ok, now you both are in the same screen and you may begin chosing your weapons for this mission and go play, but first, you have to wait, again for another eternity, for the game to load for both of you. Finally your playing, and lets imagine the following three scenarios: in the middle of the game your friend dies and the he says "hey, start it over, please, ok?". Or, you both die in the middle of a battle, or you both finish the game succesfully. Either way, the only option available next is to select "Leave game", and that means exactly that: you leave the game!

For the both of you to play again, the same map or whatever, you have to do all over again from the very begining: load the game, select the map, wait for the map to load, invite your friend, wait for your friend to accept invitation, wait for your friend to finish loading his/her game, select your weapons, start the mission, wait for the mission loads for the both of you, and then play. And you have to do that every time, there isn't a room where everybody can wait for more players, to chat, to select missions, combat styles, weapons, difficulty, etc. When one dies, he/she can still speak with the other player(s) (this is a good difference between this game and the other versions), but that is because the dead player can't go anywhere but out of the game, there is no room to return to.

At least I grew tired of this pretty quick, so I just play this game on solo and for now I play Conflict Global Terror online, at least until a new good game comes out. Oh, and I have my 360 console, but since I don't have friends who have one I didn't buy the 360 version of GR3 and when for the original, but now I think I should have bought the 360 version since I will be playing this game just on solo.
