Just a hideous game...

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is bar none the worst game tied to a movie license that I've ever played. The graphics are drab and lifeless, the controls are clunky, and the missions are boring and tedious. The game's only saving grace is the plethora of unlockables (CG in-game movies, theatrical clips, behind the scenes clips, stills, etc.) available to you as you progress through the game as well as a playable demo of a much better, currently unannounced, terminator game called T3: Redemption. There were times when I found myself playing the demo rather than the actual game itself. In it, you play as Arnold from a third person perspective as you blast away cyborgs and HK's on foot or on vehicle through a nuclear-scorched Los Angeles. This was the game that I should have been playing, not the rushed hack job I got instead. For die-hard fans, save you money till T3: Redemption comes out. Rise of the Machines by itself, is just an expensive demo.

This game is very good. You get to play as Arnold and play in the future and in the present and fight the t-x along the way.It does justice to T3 and if you enjoyed the movie, any of the movies, or you just like first person shooters than youll like this. Its not as good as Halo, but what is? you wont be dissapointed.

He will not be back. At least with this game.

Dear buyer I am a person who loves terminator.
I have alot of terminator toys, movies and games.
Every think that was made for terminator was realy good except for this one game. It really bites the dust. When I saw the making of the game they said it was amazing. They said that it would take some time to finsh playing the game. It took me one day. After I finshed thought that it was a waste of my time and money. There is no replay value at all. I mean atleast have a multiplayer mode or something intresting. I say that if you really want to play this game rent it or buy it used at a good price. A really good price.

People Come ON!!!!

OK for anyone looking for a good Terminator game....... Buy this. It is a good game. It's everything a first person shooter can be. First off your Ahnold They got his voice it stays with the movie quite well. For most fans of Brad Fiedel's work it includes great music including the Movies theme!!!!! My only complaints are graphics could be a bit more detailed, and the game could be just a little longer. But it's a great game for any fan. Lots of weapons and explosions. Plus it includes a demo of the upcoming Redemption game which is a 3rd person shooter. Awesome game, like the other guy said "It does Terminator Justice."

AWSOME!!!

Termintator 3: Rise of the Machines is AWSOME!!!

it's one of the best first person shooter games out there. loads of new weapons like ray guns, and rocket launchers, and once you enter the real movie area, you have the actual guns they used in the movie!!!

game play is awsome, and very easy to learn. there is also an automatic aim, which makes it even better. you switch to 3rd person fight mode on about 5 occassions, and you even fight the TX inside the vetenarians office! that whole part is AWSOME! it looks so real, and it also ties in some lose ends.

for example, it shows how the terminator knew where exactly to go to find kate brewster. there is even footage of the assassination of the great John Connor!!!

awsome game. i know it's gotten a bad rap so far, 2 1/2 stars, but trust me, the game is AWSOME!!!

now, the only problem is, and this is why i gave it 4 stars, is that it's just to short. it's got something like 22 levels, and about 15 minutes of actual movie footage and computer gameplay footage, but it feels to short. the levels are very detailed and you get to see the ruins of Los Angeles in the future. the sky looks awsome, and you get to shoot down tanks and hunter killers in the air. but again, the game is to short. i played on easy, and passed the game in under 5 hours, and that was by playing on and off!

that is the only real beef i have with it. that and the fact that they don't have multiplayer action, like in Halo or Medal of Honor, so you can play against eachother.

game also has special features, pictures from the movie, and has a demo of terminator 3: redemption.

review: gameplay is AWSOME. it's everything a first person shooter gamer wants. the fighting mode is awsome, you can pick up stuff, and throw the TX all around the place. you even get to trash the bathrooms like in the movie. scenery is awsome, especially the views in brewster's work place.

awsome game, and by the way, watch out for the mini-hunter killers. they are pesky!!!

now, in the words of Arnold: FANTASTIC

Horribly Exacuted !!!!

Well, what can one say about this game.

I guess your here wanting to know whether this game is any good or not ?

Answer : By far it is a sub average game with VERY tedious gameplay and poorly exucuted story fragments and cutscenes. The whole game is a bit of a mish mash of CGI footage and actual movie footage which really makes the game feel like it is cut and pasted.

The CGI is pretty good though a bit foggy looking like the beginning of Resident Evil Remake for Nintendo ( meaning there is a slight blur to it all). The movie scenes are good but just seemed un-nesccary and really didn't add anything to the game (if i wanted to see the film id get that).

The controls are relatively easy and don't take much time to pick up. Probabely because you will be doing the same thing over and over again. The AI in the game respawn in certain areas and you will be contiunally shooting those damn flying machines forever thinking " im getting bored of this". The developers just throws AI at you with the occasional mission directive (like find Sarah Connors coffin)and think they have this new sensational game. No they don't !!!!!!

Don't be fooled either by there campaign that they have the REAL man himself and that this makes the game better than any other. Arnold really doesn't have alot to do with this game. Basically all Arnold had to do for this game was go in a sound booth for a minute say 10 words like " excellent" " reloaded" and so forth and here we have the result. A game that really is repeative in every way and has no real distinction over other Terminators games for having the big fella involved.

The environments are mostly from the future setting with black charcol skys and burnt building and out of 22 levels about 18 of these are all like this. Boring, Dull and just too similar for anyone to care.

And this whole first person shooter cross bred with fist fighting ????? Yer, it works and i didn't mind the bouts with the T-X. I even get the lack of fluidity with the controls as these are machines fighting not kung-fu max payne rip offs. But still, it nuthin revoultionary or really adds a great deal for the game play. Though this was my favourite part of the game and trust me thats not saying much.

I played the whole thing through even though i got bored after the first 4 levels. The whole thing is a un-insipring mess that is not the NEXT big thing in gaming nor a decent add on to the Terminator mythos.

Conclusion: A big commerical mess that does not deliver on any of it's promises. RENT DONT BUY - even if your a fan !!!!

You are terminated!

This game has a extreme arcade feel to it, from the get go. You follow the plot of the movie for the most part, the game is played in 1st person for 90% of the game, and there are 3rd person 1-on-1 fight scenes with the T-X. The game is graphically awesome, and the sound is equally impressive, with the orchestrated movie like soundtrack of the last two movies. The weapon fire samples are perfect for each era, the laser sounds of the future sound like they do in the movie, and the conventional weapons are also nice, when you travel back in time, you get alot of nice machine guns and rockets, like a RPG. A really cool stand out level, is the classic scene from the cemetery/mausoleum. In this level you actually can't have any casualties. Interesting is that cut scenes/full motion video, in my opinion, usually detract from a title, but they cut scenes in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, are actually very enjoyable. A really neat feature is the ability to actually see through the eyes of the Terminator, like in the movie, hit the 'Back' button and the Terminator's trademare red HUD display, that keys on infra-red comes up, it even gives you all the information you need on the HUD, like your weapons, target analysis, etc. Nice little details like 'SCAN MODE' appear in the cross hair recticle, when you pan around, or 'TARGET AQUIRED'. The one major fault of this game is that it's just too short, it seems like you want more to shoot at after you finish Crystal Peak, after getting all the weapons, it just seems like a waste, but you can go back and replay finished levels with all the weapons you obtained. Also like most first person shooters, your character always has something to say, but this time it's Arnold.

was a fun game the degree of difficulty wasn't high. But the optional demo at the end for the other game was a plus.
