Wasted Money

I wasted money renting this game. Words can't describe how bad this game sucks. Games like this make the xbox look bad.

Worth Renting

Splashdown has decent graphics with good water textures, but it lacks gameplay. You can choose to race sea-doos, play countdown mode(which [is bad]), or enjoy free ride. The lack of gameplay makes this game get boring after a couple of days. I would not suggest for anyone to rush out and buy this title. I wish I would have rented this one before I purchased it.

Great family game

This one was a sleeper - hadn't heard anything about it, but rented it one day.

After playing it with my daughters (ages 9 and 7) for a few hours, we were all laughing together. Even my wife (a non-gamer) got into it. We bought it the next week.

It's lots of fun to race each other or the computer. But you can also go into "free ride" mode and just explore the different tracks. I found it to be much more fun than other extreme sports games (like Tony Hawks 3 or 4). It's easy to start playing it right away, has a nice training mode, fun multi-player races and a career mode that allows you to unlock more tracks and racers.

The only drawback is Atari's game saving. Everytime I put the disk in it asks me if I want to load the existing game again (and threatens to delete it if I don't allow it to load it).

A good family game.

Okay, there are plenty of games that are more exciting out there, but this is a really nice family game to have. It is good, clean, and fun. The graphics are good (but not great) and the physics are for the most part realistic and believable. The controls are easy to pick up and the tricks are fairly easy to complete. Splashdown contains a good mix of upbeat music and the gameplay should keep you occupied for a decent amount of time. Just remember, although the game is fun, don't expect a heart-pounding, adrenaline-producing experience.

Jet-Ski Fun Without the Salt in your Eyes

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 5 / 6

This game is the only Jet-Ski game available for the X-Box, but there are immediate similarities drawn between this game, and the Nintendo 64 classic WaveRace.
The levels are creative and fun, but it's the water graphics that really make the game shine. Never before has a game captured water effects so flawlessly as Splashdown.
The controls are at first a little odd, but after a few tuturial lessons they become easier. After an hour of playing you'll be a master at carving a wake through the water.
The gameplay is fun, but some levels can get a little frustrating. It's a definite rental, but if you're a fan of water sports than you won't be dissapointed. This is by far the best Jet-ski racing game available.

Worth looking at

I rented this game, and yes the graphics are nice and the gameplay is acceptable. If you like water games, get this game. However, I still like WaveRace64 better. For some reason it has a much greater fun factor and still rules the roost in my opinion.

Great addition to Xbox

I think Splashdown is a great addition to the xbox game base. I bout it recently and have been completely satisfied. The graphics are incredible, and the challenge races are tons of fun. However, if you do not like games about racing seadoos then don't get this game, duh. For anyone who likes the water or boats, I definately support this game!

Very Realistic Game

I love this game. The Key West track is worth the ... price tag alone. Extremely realistic water effects. I give it 4 stars as there are only 2 tracks that utilize the power of the X-Box. The remaining tracks are impressive but appear to be identical to the Playstation 2 version. Still a great game!

this game is a lot of fun. While you can beat it in less then 1 week you will probably play it a few times.

Splashdown is just plain fun.

Very realistic handling characteristics, excellent graphics. It's fun to crash or dump the driver just to hear their comments and ouches. Only (same old tired) drawback is that many of the tracks are locked out. You have to go through the usual career mode foolishness to get all of YOUR game useable. So far I've not been able to find unlock cheat codes listed for the XBOX version. One nice feature is the "free ride" mode, where you can race a course or drive around all you want. This Atari game has the same realistic handling and graphics as "Test Drive: Eve of Destruction" (also Atari). 1 to 4 players.
