yeah, i said it. the best xbox game yet. i've been playing it for three months and still haven't finished it. it is as deep as any game i've played and the combat is hugely improved over Sands of Time. i can't wait to see what ubisoft does next.

Tomb Raiders followed by the Soul Reavers and now its the era of Prince of Persia. I haven't played Sands of Time merely because I never went out to buy it. I started with Warrior Within and me being a fan of the Legacy of Kain series, I was thinking the game would be similar to that. I was wrong! This game surpasses all that I was expecting.
Combat was very nice and varied. I enjoyed having control over how I killed my enemies. Also the dual weapon system is nice once you get used to it. Took me a while to figure out that you get higher combos with two weapons and with the single weapon you are best to use acrobatics and throwing moves. My favorite thing to do is to throw a weapon at a weak enemy to take them out. Sometimes the camera even follows the thrown weapon as it hits its target. Excellent! The bosses in the game are all unique in how you fight them as well as looks. Nothing like fighting someone hand-to-hand in a fight of swords or something more tactical like how to beat a golem that towers high above you.
Another aspect of the game is the storyline. This game's storyline has what I like most in movies... twists. Like with movies I will not tell more as that spoils the fun. The full motion videos in this game are excellent and just the first 5mins of the game plays like you are watching and adventure movie on television. I will say that the plot of the game does make for an introduction of a new type of beast that is nearly indestructible.... the Dahaka!
This guy will either be your best friend or worst enemy depending on how you form your opinions. I for one think the Dahaka adds a lot more entertainment. He chases you and you have to use your speed and agility to keep him from catching you and at some times it may take many tries to figure out how the terrain around you can help you.
As with the very first Prince of Persia (yes this game is actually Prince of Persia number 4), the acrobatics and the running around and getting from point A to point B is the majority of what the game is about. Swing on poles, balance on beams, slide down curtains, dodge traps, do whatever you can but do not die in the process. This is one of the common themes of all 4 Prince of Persia games. (The original was a 2-D game that featured very smooth character animations.)
Ok, so what else is there in this game? Oh yeah, how can I forget.. Just like in Sands of Time, you have time controlling abilities that make your quest easier. Nothing like being able to kill yourself, back up time, and do it different to have success. Not only that but you can slow down time and make it into closing doors and even slow down time to kill off enemies behind you. Lots of fun to do adds more to the game.
So, whether you like the battle system, the storyline, the enemies, the acrobatics, or the abilities you gain, this game is definitely one to play. If you loved the Soul Reaver games and Tomb Raider games, this one will have you saying, "Soul What? Tomb who?" Well the Prince will never replace Laura, so maybe not, but it definitely will impress you more than these other games.
Overall, a worthy sequel

Prince of Persia 1 is one of the best games of this generation of consoles. Warrior Within may not be as good, but is still a great game.
If I could, I would give this game a 4.75 stars. It is a great sequel to an incredible game. I would say this game is better, but the story is not as good as the first one. It is still good, but it takes longer for the story to develop.
The graphics in Warrior Within are breath taking. Really, they are so much better then Sands of Time its incredible. The Cut scenes are some of the best to appear in video games. The facial animation in game still sucks but is better then the first.
The sound is easily the low point. Some of the one-liners are bad and very few will like the heavy rock during the game, although I actually liked it.
One of my main problems with the sands of time was the combat. Needless to say, it is MUCH better is WW. This is the only sword fighting game where you can actually dual weild. You can perform combos with the enviroments help. It is just so much better and is actually fun this time around.
Overall, if you liked the Sands of Time, you will like Warrior Within.
Concept- Bring back the Prince, but make him more mature and pissed off.
Presintation- 9.0- The box art is awesom and the menues are good as well.
Graphics- 9.4- So much better then the first, though facial animation is still bad in game.
Sound- 7.5- Easily the low point of the game. Some one liners suck and few like the rock music. (as I sad before) Though the battle sounds are good.
Playability- 9.3- Still has the wonky camera, but combat is easier.
Entertainment- 9.4- Great sequel, though not Game of the Year material like the first.
Replay value- 8.5- You will want to go through the story again and there are xbox live features that extend the life of this title.
(Xbox live features are NOT multiplayer features)

I'd spend my money on Ninja Gaiden anytime. Warrior Within is horrible. Don't waste your money. I am going to ebay this sucker as fast as I can.

Warrior Within is the second game in the current generation series of three Prince of Persia games (to date) released by Ubi.
The story resumes a few years after the conclusion of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The Prince is now war hardened from the past years in battle. He now has a menacing style and persona when compared to his previously unthreatening appearance and innocent soul. Returning to his home of Babylon, the prince finds that he is being hunted down by a supernatural beast that is intent on destroying him at all costs. What it all really boils down to is that the prince created a rift in the space-time continuum as a result of his foolish actions in the previous game. Now Death is intent on hunting down the Prince. He must find a way to alter his fate before impending doom catches up to him.
To get right to the point - the game is another stunner! Every aspect of the game has been redesigned and tweaked to create an experience that rivals the previous title. The game play mechanics are extremely fluid and intuitive and the fighting system is much more complex than that found in Sands of Time but just as easy to use. The game is graphically gorgeous once again as it seems Ubi always pushes the visual envelope to the very edge. Everything about the game is fantastic with the exception of one thing, the music. In their efforts to make the Prince of Persia series more dark and burly, Ubi errantly opted to implement some not so fantastic heavy rock music into the game. That is quite likely just my opinion and is really not a major issue, but one to be aware of if you are expecting more of the same from the last game. All things considered, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is another superb title that every action fan should own.
It is just a demo, not the real game.

Games turn out completely different. It is just a demo, the game has not come out yet. Xbox Magazine gave this game a 9.6, and OXM has the best reviews out there.
P.S. Don't watch X play, they don't review games right.

Don't listen to all the other reveiws, they're all wrong. The second game is a whole new experience, You can now fight with two weapons including secret weapons with special ablities. You know fight a number of various diffferent enemies, not the same old boring sand creatures. Also another problem the music, everyone complains about it, people say that the new band stinks, well I'd like to see them do better. The old band was fine but things change, life's rough. Another thing people are all whining about the Prince, so what he changed it's been six years how could you expect him to look and sound the same, really the prince looks fine. this game is great for any person who loves a good challenge or a lot of bloody fun.

I get the xbox magazine and recently played the demo and it looks great. Just as described, they "grew the prince up" and now he is a fairly formidible character. The sand and rewind ability is still there but you don't have to use the dagger to collect it. As stated, you can weild two sowrds and this just makes the game more intresting seing as you can control each individually. With the addition of the extra soward, there is a myriad of combos that one can perform. on the down side though, the game took a type of dark-gothic like turn overall it is a very promising game.
Prince of Persia should be an excellent platformer at heart

I agree with the earlier review. They changed prince of persia from an excellent platformer to a ninja gaiden look alike with much more fighting.

This game highlights why some people own pc's and not consoles. Amazing graphics, complete frustration to play. It's like the movie groundhog day.. you do the same thing again and again and again until on the 38th try you get the split second timing on the exact combo to move forward.
Added to the above, the camera angles get really annoying -- you cant look to see where you are going half the time, you just need to have played the level 20 times to know the route and avoid unseen obstacles.
If you're over 12 years old skip this one. Its just too much work.
