Dynasty fans beware, A better game is in the market

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 3 / 6

a game which you really have to get the Dynasty warrior habit out. You actually have to think!! No more simple hack and slash but with commandable troops. This game perfected the Dynasty warriors concept by adding strategic factors, for examples: Sunlight, terrain, unit management, and command

I loved the fact that u can equip your troops instead of presets
For the most part, it was a game that stessed on realism of medival conquest with a hint of fantsy magic.
IF You were dis-satisfied by dy-nasty warriors this will probably please u if ur into these kinda games.

EDCATIONAL FACTOR!? At least you learn about medieval weaponry, strategy and siege weapons. thats good enough, right?
U can also expand your mind to the theme and philosphy of this game too

Durability!? what the... its a dvd rom, u know how this is

People are stupid.

Ok the only things I have heard people say when they give it a bad review is that it has bad voice acting music, the graphics look bad when really up cose and the controles are hard. First of dont be a @#$% baby just spend alittle while and learn how to play and get to the later levels thats where the real fun begins, and about the voice acting, well thats one of the most retarded complaints I have ever heard just pute on the korean voice acting and read the subtitles, so there no problem witht that either. Douse grand theft auto look good up close, no it dousnt becouse like this game it is at a large scale so stop complaining about this game and go check your @#$$%ng eye site. and the music if you dont like it, just turn it off! this gaem has axcellent gameplay, is unique fun and in some ways seems alittle bit more realistic then other rts in my opinion. Of cours it isnt for everyone, mostly just the larg amount of babyish gamers outt there that cant teach themselves to press acouple buttons in an unusual way but others also will possibly not enjoy this. But I tell you it is an excellent fun game that at least diserves 3 hours of your time to give it a chance, becouse if you do you most likely wont be dissapointed!

First of all Ive been reading about this game for a month and its Rated Mature not e! It has violonce and some blood. It is cool, you have your castle and youre the leader. You pick to be human, orcish, dark elf, vampire or a lich. You have different weapons and you fight the invading or defending army. You ride horses and dragons and you can have up to more than 100 people on xbox live!

Battlefield controls Ruin the Game.

This is a GREAT game. When I first started playing I was like wow. The Graphics are amazing. The dialogue between characters was lame.. very SNESish but I was willing to let that slip by.

And the battles and action was... unique.

My problem with the game is twofold.
First.. controling your armies is VERY difficult.
I had to replay a bunch of battles because my troops would not do what I desired, or I couldn't order them all fast enough.

The view of the battlefield is shown right above and behind your current selected troop. that is nice and all, however this causes you to lose your depth with your curser. it's hard to see where you are clicking your troops to move towards. you can't tell if you are moving them 5 feet or 5 miles.
Your curser also remains on the battlefeild at all times at the last location you left it. That doesn't seem so bad but when you rotate between armies it can be annoying because the curser might be facing the wrong direction and you need to rotate it completely around in order to command your troops to go the direction you desire, and then do it again 2 sec later should you want a different troop to go the other direction.
Not so bad you say? It is when every second counts and you need to get every unit to do their own thing at the exact same time.
It makes me wish there was a pause so that you can order your units to do their assigned task and then unpause and just edit as needed real time.
It gets even worse when you have calvery. ride through the enemy, turn around and ride back through. the bad thing about that is they turn like a semi.. very wide, they are very intensive to control... so while you control them you ignore others. and the difficul curser controls tend to make you accadently force your calvery into hand to hand which it's not designed.

Yes there is a minimap that can help with commanding your units around, but even that can be difficult to use espesially in the mist of a battle. I didn't play the game for very long, however I think mastering the mini-map might be the key to getting through the game.

Another problem I had with the game is the fact that it was linear. It told me what to do step by step. send your troops here, now do this, now head this direction, now set thease traps.
it was very blah. Maybe it's because I was playing it on easy... but I don't think so. It doesn't feel very much like a strategy game when all the strategy is done by the computer for you.

if you can get by the clunky controling then this game is Great. the graphics were supurb and the experience and leveling up they have is very unique and promising.
even the hand to hand fighting is decent that you do. the only flaw is that is that when the leader goes down you win and they lose.. so fight your way ton the leader and kill them and you win nice and easy. ::shrugs::

I liked the game. I will probally try to continue my game and find a better way of controling my armies.
If you like strategies, you might like this. I'd reccomend renting first however

I would have to disagree..

I just bought this game, and I love it! The graphics are good, the sounds a little off but you get use to it after a while. Yes, in the beggining the gameplay is a little hard to understand. But i recently viseted gamespot.com and they said the average person takes about two hours to learn the game. It took me a lot shorter, but once you get the hang of it, its great. But yeah, I love this game and rate it a 5!

the best game i've ever played

First off, all I could say was WOW when I first started playing it. It was everything I wanted in a video game and more. At your command you could call upon archers, infantry(which do most of the dirty work) Orcs, dark elves, cavalry, and just about anything you could think of in a medievil battlefield. It was like living in a war ravaged fantasy(which I love) and tearing through literally hundreds of orcs or humans(depending on which side you play). this was also the first RTS I had ever played, and now they are some of my favorite types of games. Alright, time for my review.

GAMEPLAY 9/10: as I've said above, this is a great game. the only complaint that I had about it was the overly steep learning curve. Once I hit the second mission I was like "um, how do I make'em move?", but once I really got to playing, I figured it out. As I said, I had never played a strategy game at all, so I was not used to having to move fifty troops or more at once. But don't get turned off by this, its not nearly difficult as it sounds. Everything does happen in real time, and when you engage in combat with the enemy, you get to take your revenge out the good ole fashioned way, sword to face. The combat is FURIOUS, and is downright enjoyable. your heroe, human or else, can handle themselves well. the combos are not hard to pull off, though I hated playing as Lucretia, I like powerful characters, I could care less about how fast they can move. My favorite heroe would be either Kendall or Reignier. Yes, you do have to open these characters(you start out with two open characters, Gerald (human, easy campaign) and lucretia (dark elf, normal campaign).
Kendall (human) and regnier (not sure, looks human, but is super strong, and leads the Orcs) are both the Hard campaigns. And trust me HARD is the key word. but they have much bigger battles, and the gold is more free flowing.

SOUND 9/10: its got great sound effects, but sucky music.

REPLAYABILITY 10/10: very fun game, and the battles never turn out the same.

XBOXLIVE ?/?: I have not tried it, but I have heard there is lag, so your better off playing KUF: HEROES.

False advertising and misleading labeling

Well first off, check the box, it states that there is a custom soundtrack ability, which is totally absent as far as I can tell after playing for one day straight. Then there is the horrible grating rock music. I've played a lot of dynasty warrior and KUF: The Crusaders makes the same horrible mistake. I mean a gaming experience must have good atmosphere, and that is produced from the integration of music and gameplay.

I expected to hear the soldiers shout louder as they came closer
to the enemy, barely peep. It just didn't have enough "atmosphere".

Did Metal Gear Solid have crappy rock most of the time? No. Did Lord of the Ring games have crappy rock? No. Did Diablo have crappy rock? No. Everquest? No. Get what I'm sayin?

Get a good symphony orchestra, put some braveheart-ish themes, or music like from "god of war (ps2)" then I wouldn't say a word against this game. Then there has been no downloadable content when the box clearly stated that there was. Even after all this time, they still haven't made a patch that let's you have custom soundtracks or fix spelling errors in the subtitles. When you buy this game, be careful, because it promises a lot but does not deliver enough, at least to my expectations.

I can't believe it

It's unbelievable, bad ratings given to such a awesome game. A new RTS, a new RPG, a new King of game. They say the controls are hard, my fist to that, the controls were fairly simple and those who cannot use them, need to learn to use their hands better. They say the game has potential, I say it lived up to it and you'll agree once you've gotten to the hard missions. I really do mean this when I say you will not believe the story in the hard missions. (SPOILER) For in the hard missions you fight a nearly endless hoard of flesh demons called Encablossa (at this point I say the story becomes like Final Fantasy). Encablossa is a HUGE sky demon that sucks souls through its body and spits them back as demons.

Best Game Ever!

Okay, I expected this to be about the crusades, no, its about the "Demon Crusade". Although the poor lines, and hilarious cheesyness can make you laugh so hard, but only for the first few levels, then its not fun, its boring.
