We've all seen games like Furious Karting before, whether under the guise of the Mario Brothers on a Nintendo, or as Crash Bandicoot in the Sony Playstation; this one seems to be the Xbox version of the same game. A carting racing game, this is no simulation; there is nothing in the way of accurate steering or anything remotely alike. It's basically a "keep yourself in the road no matter what" type of a racing game, and in order to achieve this goal you can bash your opponents with a club or set traps for them as you race - all's fair in love and carting.
Most of the emphasis in this game has been put on its Scenario mode, in which you select a character and evolve with it as you race your opponents through a weak plot like storyline. It's nice, it's repetitive, it's slightly addictive, but it's not what this game is about.
Ever since they were first conspired, these games were always intended to function as multi-player games, period. Video gaming fun does not come any better than setting a trap for your friend at the top half of the split screen, only to watch him/her fall into it seconds later in the bottom half, which is exactly why I wanted to grab a copy of this game as soon as possible. However, it was the multi-player section of the game that disappointed me: It's quite undeveloped; all you can do is pick a race course (about 20 are available), pick the skill of the computerized competition, and race; no tournaments and no other sort of an evolution is offered. Soon enough, you and your friends are bored with the monotonous way of the game, and you end up looking for another game to feed your Xbox with, before your friends go home early. To add an insult to injury, most of the multi-player functionality is initially locked (only two race courses are available), and you have to play the Scenario mode on your own to uncover them, which sort of limits the appeal of this title as a short term rental.
Bottom line: A good title which could have been great fun if it had what it takes as a multi-player game.

I love it! I'm a huge fan of drivers, both arcade style and simulators. This game is a great mix of both. On the ground, it seems like the game handles just like a go-kart would. The short wheelbase of a kart makes it fun to take the tight turns, but also makes it easier to spin out. The left stick turns the kart, while the right stick controls your leaning - an awesome feature. While jumping off ramps, you can do tricks that are really unrealistic, but they are a ton of fun and don't take away from the realness of the game. You also race on a team, can club people that are not on your team, and can get awsome powerups. I won't be playing anything else for quite some time.

Furious Karting is a great game if you like go cart racing. It is also a great multi-player game for up to four players. I think this game is really more fun playing with four people and you get to wack them with your bat and set some awsome traps like the oil slick, smoke but my favorite trap is the chicken this is really funny when the other player hits the chicken it will slow them down unless they touch another player to pass it to. Again I really recommend this game for anyone the only flaw that I have seen with this game is there no way to save your game except for using the player of your choice. Have fun racing.
