Multiplayer is fun but needs improvement

The single player game is great and others have summed it up well.

In both the single and multiplayer modes, there are only two options for control setup. The only difference between the two is how you use the joysticks - a major difference but it would have been nice to customize the controls any way you want. I can't understand why games these days don't have a free-edit mode for control setup.

The multiplayer is great fun. Action/strategy like this is a rare find. But it has some drawbacks. You can only choose from three maps. All three are excellent and give a good variety but I'd really like to see some kind of map editor or at least a set-up mode for variety. I've never really missed having a deathmatch mode since this game is all about conquest of territory. But it seems like it would be an easy addition so why not? One of the biggest glaring weaknesses of the multiplayer mode is that there is no handicapping system. This is especially true when you only have three players available! Two player games are fun, four player games are awesome, but three player games are just annoying since there are only two sides (Americans, Soviets) and no options for handicapping. One player against two will get slaughtered because there is no option to have one of your recruits grab the flag! There is no option to have a computer teammate, either (1p & 2p versus 3p & CPU). Likewise, there is no option to play multiplayer alone against the computer or have three players against the computer. Or how about just adding a third (and even fourth) country option for the multiplayer mode? All of those options would have made the game fun for an uneven number of players and more fun overall.

Still, I highly recommend the game. I can only hope they will make some changes in multiplayer for Freedom Fighters 2.

Red dawn and Freedom Fighters

I like to think of Freedom Fighters and Red Dawn as the same, unother words I like to think that while New York City is being invaded, the same things are happening in that small town from the movie Red Dawn, as I like to think that the video game and the movie are 100% linked in every way. It's interesting really that it shows you fighting in the wilderness, then in the city. i realy hope they make Freedom Fighters into a movie!

Freedom Fighters for the X Box is a cool game. The overall concept is well done and interesting. The game play is easy to pick up and figure out.

Graphics: Not the best, but they are pretty good.
Control: Easy.
Fun Factor: Could play it over and over again.

Overall: The game is fun and easy to control; however, the game itself is way to easy. It is perfect for new gamers.
