this game will be the best to come for this genre, it is amazing, you can no longer get across a city in 2 minutes, its gonna take some time. this also combines a shooting type game with an RPG type game. it is redifining the word graphics with amazing cars, cities, and character models. this is a must have

Ok, I understand the lack of blood is to reduce complains, but what about kids who are used to blood?
Graphics are good, if you average the great graphics of the cutscences and the unrelastic ingame graphics. There is a lack in sense of speed in the game. I am not asking for the insanity of Burnout. I just want the cars to go faster.
Nice background music, and the cars sound cool, but shouldn't every vehicle have a completely different sound?
Very addictive. That is, to someone who never played GTA. I WANT MY GTA.
Of course, Driver : Parallel Lines will improve on Driv3r(the graphics, the sound, the GTAness)...

ok it is alot like gta exept for the fact that it has no features ecxept for free roam. missions are very linear. you can drive a car and that is about all the fun your ever gonna have. i can see that kids want gta. this is not even close to as much fun as some other no blod gta clones. here are a couple i think did a good job. true crime new york is the closest. mercinaries is the best graphics and gamesplay. it gives more features than even gta. one of the less popular clones is mafia. that game is just hands down the best one. u want a non vilent gta go buy mafia. the last one is probably the most different. it has everything gta has besides xxx even the mass amounts of blood. they gave it a great twist. we have all thought to ourselves at one time hey how about a tony hawk were you can kill and steal cars and stuff. the game that did the un thinkable is none other than total overdose. so my point is that driver sucks so just dont even bother renting it.

DRIV3R is VERY like GTA:Vice City,but its more like the realistic version of GTA:VC.
I liked Driver and Driver 2,But i think DRIV3R is also good.
You play Tanner again who has been sent to infiltrate a Car Theft ring,and bring it to an end.
This game is MILES better than TrueCrime,its also better than The Getaway-but its 2 inches behind GTA in my opinion(as of Driver:Parallel Lines).
You get Miami,Nice and Istanbul to explore,three cities that is.
You get a good selectionof cars,motorbikes and boats to cruise around in-although it would have been nice to have bicycles,helicopters and some type of plane-But it doesn`t matter.
Overall this game really isn`t as bad as they say-its no perfecto but its still good.

i bought this game when it first came out. When i first got it i couldent stop playin it it is a pretty fun game but some missions are hard im so stuck on the mission dodge island. I like the cars bc most are classsic like the mustang, the camaro, the cobra and many more.

pros
+great cars
+guns are cool
+graphics are awesome
+charecaters are all cool

cons
-the cops come after u for just speeding, running red lights hiting a cop car and some more
-soundtrack sux
-the controls are a little bit hard to master

if you bypass the hype this remains the third driver game

comparing driver3 (not the stupid DRIV3R) to gta is redundant.
even though everyone wanted this to be the next step in the gta evolution its important to remember that driver started this genre...as a matter of fact if you look at credits for the early driver game you'll see sam housers name(of gta).
anyone who has played driver 1 and 2can see driver three as the natural evolution to the driver series.with driver 1 we got mission based driving..with driver 2 we got curved streets and the ability to get out of the car and "jack" other cars..then GTA picked up on this idea and became the pinnacle for this genre.Now we have driver 3...is it better than GTA?...absolutly NOT....is it better than driver 1 and 2 ...a resounding YES!

the game is not flawless it has several graphical errors...not to mention that the developers must have thought the game was too short because rather than adding more missions they added extra "CHEAP FACTOR"....MORE TIMES THAN NOT YOU WILL FAIL A MISSION FOR NO APPARENT REASON...IE.IF I CAN SEE THE CAR I'M CHASING I HAVN'T LOST THEM.

after beating the missions i was prepared to trade in my copy but then i tried out the take a ride mode. now this is more like it. the missions only let you see about a third of what each city has to offer...take a ride gives you alot of what i expected from driver3 ...there are various hidden items all over the town as well as buildings to go into and explore. New vehicles and many more reasons to make this a keeper...
i can't say that about THE GETAWAY OR TRUE CRIME...THOSE WERE TRADED AS SOON AS I BEAT THEM.

driver 3 is entertaining if you liked driver 1 and 2 you will enjoy this...if the only game you enjoy is gta.....well, then you are narrow minded....

Impressive graphics don't make up for a lackluster game

I bought this game a few weeks ago from Target for $23.52 (it also included a 2nd disc with tips) I had a $5 coupon as well. This game is unbelievably frustrating I can't believe reflections spent nearly 3 years developing this game. While the graphics are nice and some how impressed me some what it doesn't make up for the frustrating and dull gameplay. Here is a list of cons because there just aren't enough positives things to say about this game.

CONS
Driving controls are very sensitive and your car tends to slide like as if it were on ice

on foot controls (I like to call it run n gun) are cumbersome to say the least and the aiming system isn't very good at all either.

Did I mention that this game is on the difficult side and sometimes very frustrating? I was on the mission where you had to stop the gator for good and trying to drive and shoot at the same time just PO'd me right off.

I have played other games similar to this True Crime Streets of LA The Getaway and of course GTA. Driver may of pioneered this genre but this installment was just poorly put together. Many games of this genre may come and go but Grand Theft Auto is still king of the genre. If you are really interested in checking out this game I strongly recommend renting this (I wish I had done so) or waiting for the price to drop to under $20.

I played GTA of course and even True Crimes and i have to those games are far better than this piece of junk it's horrible it doesn't even make sense that it you bump into a pole your mission is over you can't even chance someone down, the driving controls are the worse ever for a game it just plain sucks don't even rent it!!!

I rented this game from blockbuster only becuase it was out of stock and was guaranteed in stock. It was not even worth the gas to get to the store. All the "online compatable" feature is is just sharing replays of levels. The levels are hard and frustrating. I enjoy a hard game, but this was just stupid. Every try is "he got away" or "you Lost him" If you want a good game, get the GTA double pack for the same price.

This is one of the worst ever made games....Long cut scenes....A story that jumps around too much...And when they say you can go anywhere and do anything they lie....It is very hard and confusing....
