On the positive side, the makers of the game put an emphasis on atmospherics. The enemies were poor fighters but there were plenty of them, just like the actual event. The maps are big so the experience is confusing, just like the actual event. The music is very good.
On the negative side, the graphics are below average, the AI is poor, and the squad control is practically non-existant. They should have spent more time upgrading this game before releasing it.
The best part of this game is the online playing which does have a lot big maps and is easy to get into. However, there is much they could have learned from the Tom Clancy series of games!

I think this game has lots of good things about it.For one I have seen the movie Black Hawk Down about 6 times,And novalogic really went pretty close on basing it to the movie and the real war.For people that like lots of blood this game does not have it,but it does have pretty good graphics, good first person view,
and a whole lot of other detailes that really caught the eye.I like the selection of weapons, and how you use them in the game.
Now for people with a short memory and slow reflexes it might be hard to switch from single fire and burst ect. But for people that have played halo and beat it on Legendary I think fast reflexes will not be a problem. Now comparing it to DELTA FORCE LAND WARRIOR I think black hawk down is far better!! I would say that people should rent this game first like every other game.

I don't play multiplayer shooters. So I only played this is single player mode. I thought this game was cumbersome, shifting weapons took too long. They equip you with a binocular but the bad guys only appear when you get closer. And most times they appear from out of no where. They just suddenly materialize! In the desert no less.
Mannig the Machinegun on top of the Humvee was kind of hokey, not very fun or very challenging.
If you own a PC and you can find it buy Operation Flashpoint, or if you have a newer PC buy Armed Assault.

I got this game in hopes it would be somewhat like the movie. At first it was fun. Playing levels before the helicopters went down. But it started to get boring and the A.I. was just terrible. The enemies just stand there and let you shoot them. I though I had given up hope when there came the call,"Irene!". The call telling the soldiers they were going to battle. Your character goes into the battle in a humvee convoy. It got fun again for about five minutes when I ran into a huge glitch. At least I think it was a glitch. The game had been pretty buggy and glitchy before. So what happened was the game under objectives said go meet this such and such a guy. His name was like "Warlover46" or something like that. Since then I had gotten off the humvees. In the middle of the battle when there was people to be saved that were in the helicopters that crashed. It kept me running around meeting all these people with strange names. I started thinking somwhow Xbox Live was mixing with the campaign. There was no way to continue without meeting all these people. I met around 50-65 people before I gave up and sold the game back to Gamestop.
