This game is non stop excitement and thrills. The great part about this particular game is that it offers something every skill level of game play. It has bad cars and cool moves. Plus lots of hidden secert cars and levels. Its like five games in one. I can't wait till the next adition is avaible.
Best Arcade racer. Crash mode rules!

This is arcade style racing so it's a little easier to play than games that simulate a car's control in detail. To me that's what games should be! It is fun to just pick up and play rather than frustrating. Great for a casual or hard core gamer. This one is tons of fun. You race to unlock new and better cars. There are great pursuit races where you are the cop chasing a car which can only be stopped by causing it to breakdown (by ramming and crashing). The icing on the cake is crash mode. You have 30 different traffic scenarios to do where you try to cause the most expensive pile-up of cars, trucks, and busses. It is quite a rush and the graphics and sound are spectacular. World ranking and scores are kept via XBOX live which gives you extra incentive to do better. There is multiplayer, but not online. My only hopes for Burnout 3 would be the ability to play friends via XBOX live and save replays. The crashes are very spectacular and many very worthy of saving to show friends. Burnout 2 is a keeper!
Wonderful Game

I just got this game today, ordered it 3 days ago. this is a hack of a good and fun racing game. It has a locked 60 frames per second video, which is 2x faster than project gotham racing two. the graphics are very life like, and the crashes are incredible. The 60fps video is very interesting when you are racing full speed... Needforspeed2 on the xbox has 60fps sometimes but burnout2 has it all the time. I got it for $20, so it's worth every penny. I hope to unlock all of the races/cars soon. 60fps is a MUST in console racing games. imo. Burnout2 has NO LAG during the fastest motion(crashes/etc). 5 stars.
Excellent!

This is, by far, the best racing game I've played for X-Box. It doesn't even have real model/make cars, which is normally a requirement for a good racing game to me, and it still rocks. Even my wife can't stop playing it. This is a great game to play for a couple of friends - reminds me of when four or five of us used to stack up to play Mario Cart on the Super Nintendo (no the gameplay is nothing like that at all... but the level of fun is!).
The only shortcoming this game has is no ability to save your replays. I would very much like to save some of my crash replays after coming home from sitting in traffic for a couple hours.

Still lots of fun to play on the original Xbox -- requires more skill (to build up the Burnout bar) compared to Burnout 3 and 4. This one is much more about near-misses and sliding than the follow-up games in the series, which are more about Teh Insane SPEED...
A big difference with this one (#2) is that if you let go of the A button (Burnout speed) before it runs out, you have to build it back up to Full again before you can use it -- Burnout 3 has speed-boost-on-demand.
Slower paced overall, which makes it a good choice over BO:Revenge(#4 in the series) - for parents who want to race as well ;-)
Burnout 2 - I recommend it for family entertainment. Also got my girlfriend into Xbox racing with this title :-)
Awesome

I just felt that the graphics and action could be better in this game. I've seen other racing games(for the X-box) where the instant replay almost looks real.
There is a crash mode but once you resume the race, your car is back to normal again. After 20 minutes of playing I had mastered all 3 of the courses that it offers as far as racing. There are more levels in the crash mode but it's almost the same thing over and over.
I would suggest renting this game before buying it. If I had bought it first I would have taken it back and gotten a refund !!
Wow!

Could this game be any better? For a game that is derived from arcade games, it's amazing. I normally don't like arcade games much, and this gets extremely close. But this offers ingenious AI, brilliant graphics, and heartstopping crashes (Duh. This is Burnout, you know.)The original Burnout was already great. Plus, Burnout 3 is coming out on September 8 this year. It is garuanteed to be better, which is a tremendous accomplishment.(...)

This game is a good time. Graphics look great, lots of different challenges, and fast, fast fast! Aren't video games supposed to be fun? This is it!
The kind of fun you can only have in a game!

This is an incredibly entertaining game! The gameplay is very arcady, which matches the style of game perfectly. This game is all about driving fast in heavy traffic, and everything in the game supports that, from the great level (track) design to the handling of the cars. Everything in this game is geared towards having fun, and they did a great job at it.
Is the graphic the best I've ever seen? Maybe not, but we are now getting to a point where it really doesn't matter so much anymore. Does it look real? It looks pretty real, although not quite as real as some of the other new racing games perhaps. But there is one thing this game does better than any other game I have seen: It gives you the sense of driving FAST. Incredibly fast that is. Yet the game still remains controllable.
Great job Acclaim!
