The Blood falls again!

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 10

This game is definately a savvy item to shop for. In my opinion, part 2 is going to be a great game. This will be a #1 on my list, so I should wait until it comes out. Not that I have played it, but seeing the first Bloodrayne's success, I would think it would be similar to Resident Evil for the zombie concepts, Matrix for It's slow motion, and Buffy the vampire slayer for it's vampire history. I am definately going to buy this game first hand and other readers and Bloodrayne fans should too. It's education isn't that good, but it'll teach a lesson or two about not to stick your nose into other people's bussiness.

My aunt bought me this game the other day and it's reallys fun, even for a nine year old. This game has gore and action, just how I like em. This game is 5 stars because it's really cool. My cousin played it and he loved it too. I guess that proves that anyone could like the game.

Blood Rayne is totally cool!

I played the original Blood Rayne and seeing how that played out well, I am assuming this will be a great game. By recently seen trailers and pics, Blood Rayne looks like a great game with enhanced graphics and fighting techniques. By other concepts as in articals and pages of Blood Rayne 2, it is a really good game and is of which I rated everything a five.

If you like Bloodrayne then you ABSOLUTELY MUST get a copy of Berserk for Dreamcast. Same type of bloody slasher game, but you use a guy instead of a lady.

Prepare to get your bloodlust on - again!

Have recently had the opportunity to try out a BloodRayne 2 playable demo. Here are some first impressions.

First, the bad news: gone are Rayne's 180 degree quick-turn, spiraling kick-jump and her ability to drag victims to her to feed on via the harpoon. And, while she is still able to jump greater distances than mere mortals, no longer are they the ludicrous, yet eminently satisfying, terrain-telescoping leaps of the first game. Whether Rayne re-acquires any of these abilities later in BloodRayne 2 remains to be seen.

Now, the good news: Much more precise control over Rayne's abilities, including a lock-on target mode and separate buttons for kicking and slashing; Rayne's harpoon can now be used to hurl enemies as well as pulling bits of scenery down on top of said enemies; Prince of Persia-style pole swinging and vaulting, including the ability to perch on top of poles; Tony Hawk-style rail grinding, during which, Rayne can extend her blades out to her sides to dispatch any adversaries unfortunate enough to be standing at the bottom of a rail; "Kill puzzles" to advance to the next stage, solvable by catapulting foes into, say, a giant fan or garbage truck with the harpoon; gruesome fatalities which, when executed while feeding, will cause Rayne to perform on her foes such lovely acts as decapitation or hoisting them aloft with her blades as they beg for mercy before being eviscerated; Blood-powered weaponry which can be refueled in tandem with regular feeding; Blood Rage, Aura Vision & Dilated Perception have all returned as well, though, thankfully, the annoying Extruded View is absent. The graphics and level detail are considerably more robust than those of the first game and Rayne herself moves and looks more lusciously than ever.

Yeah, great features, but how does it play? Well, I can happily report that , taken all together, it's a blast and I have practically worn out my demo disk of BR2 playing the same stages over and over, refining my techniques in anticipation of the game's final release. The controls are relatively easy to master, so you'll be able to crank out the carnage in no time flat. This is going to be a worthy sequel.

WOW! 10/10

This game is really awesome. This is one of my favorite games of all time. I didn't think it would be as good as BloodRayne but it's just as good. Buy this game!

The Honest Truth About This Game

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 5 / 8

I must confess that I am a die-hard fan of the BR series (I absolutely enjoyed the first BR). So when BR2 was confirmed, I was ecstatic, and seeing the screenshots of the title sent me to my game retailer to pre-order the title. Now that I finally own the title, I must confess that I'm left with a result that leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth.

As we last remembered, BR1 left off with Rayne discovering that her father is still alive, so she thus seeks out found him. BR2 practically pick ups from that spot after years of Rayne's premeditation, but doesn't seen harness that magic that was of the BR1. As I went through BR1 I felt compelled to play on, to learn more about the story, and about Rayne. BR2's story just appears watered down and doesn't truly give any incentive as to why to continue playing the game. In BR2, Rayne just works as an agent that's assigned to do this and that instead of working upon her own free will (as to that of BR1 in the second half of the game).

Another complaint is the combat system. What on earth happened to being able to pick up firearms?!! One thing I truly adored about BR1 was your freedom to pick up practically any weapon the enemy dropped (shotguns, rocket launchers, etc.). BR2, Rayne can only use her blades and blood gun (which runs out way to fast, and takes too long to recharge) which supposedly eliminates/takes the place of using or picking up firearms. The computer AI also, seems very dumb at times (characters running into ways etc)or occasionally stating comments such "Gotta Go!" or "Se Ya Later!" In this aspect, the game feels waaay too sanitary.

Throughout the game, Rayne learns several different skills (as did with BR1) and combination attacks, though several of them are pretty useless and probably won't ever need to be used.

Battles seem pretty repetitive (though the developers eliminated the "find a key" type missions of BR1) it's now replace with tedious "destroy all enemies to progress" ones now, and boss battles are either too easy or too tough. The graphics in the game don't seem to surprass BR1's very much (in fact, I'd go as far to say that BR1 looked better in every aspect, with the exception of BR2 using motion capture).

BR2 does have some advantages tough, the game contains unlockables such as movie sequences, and cheats password (from BR1) is still kept intact.

BR2 is alright game, gamers new to the series may love it. However, to the die-hard BR fans, don't expect to be too impressed. One thing I noticed when playing BR2 is that Rayne didn't appear to be the hardcore-bad@$$ she was in BR1. Well perhaps she's just upset that she's in this mediocre sequel. An average game.

Let the Blood(rayne) flow

What can be said. Awesome graphics - great game play. This is a mature title with a mass market appeal. Strong woman in the lead role (...) who has an attitude and the ability to slice and dice the bad guys. The "pick up a weapon" feature has been ditched for a very cool blood sucking system for weapons (she is half vampire after all) and there isn't any "find this key, find this key" thing going on - it is all done through death and destruction of bad guys. This one is worth buying and the replay value exists (try playing her as rayne dressed in a japanese school girl outfit - GREAT stuff!).
