Without question, this is one of the best, most captivating games I've played in a long time. Everything from the graphics, to the story, gameplay and sound is extremely polished and fits together perfectly. My only complaint about the game is that at times the camera wouldn't behave, but this wasn't enough of an issue to hurt the experience. Highly recommended.

Despite the bombed marketing and sales of this game, I felt it was a necessity to express my love for this game. The visuals are astounding, the sounds are top knotch, and the fun factor is definitely a big plus among all that. It's a shame we may not see a sequel to this game (unless you, the consumer who hasn't bought it yet, does buy it!). Probably the reason this treasure was overlooked was the fact that many of its ideas are new and the characters are ones we are not familiar with. Pick up this game and I can guarantee you, you will be satisfied. The similated world is breathtaking and the experience is like a movie being shown right before your eyes (only you get to interact... and who wouldn't like to interact with a movie?!). Overall, with the price at $20, you really can't lose out on this game. Pick it up and you'll be hoping for a sequel too...

Movie and Game all-in-one

Like others have said, this game is breathtaking, fairly easy to play and just enjoyable. One of the great things about this game is the way it seamlessly brings a storyline/game together. Unlike some of the cut scenes in other games where the video is abrupt from the action, BGE does a great job of making you the main character in a movie. And I'm almost positive that this is what the producer was attempting to do. For example, when the game enters into slow motion, taking on a cinematic-like effect, you still have full control over Jade's movements and actions. It's stuff like this that makes the game so immersive. I won't give away the details, but the one major chase scene in the movie is another absolutely incredible example of blending movie and game together.

Some have said that this game is easy, but I really see this as more than just a game...it's half movie, half game. In the end, you get to do a fun variety of mental and physical activities AND watch/participate as the main character in a movie. This game was as well-balanced as a game could ever be.

WOW , what can I say what a fun game . The secenery is remarkable in this game,especially when you get to the crossroads area on water .Looks like a scene out of bladerunner,but its not dark ,its on the lighter side. How did this game go unnoticed? The hovercraft was very fun to drive. And all the creatures you have to find and photograph,makes me wanna go buy a canon 10mexgapixel rebel. This game is not dark,bloody,or gory in any way. Its just in a leage all by itself.What a surprise hit.Graphics are clean and sharp,and all the other vehicles flying over you in the 4 way water crossroads area. Very well designed game.

A storyline so immersive it will hold you to the end

Beyond Good & Evil is Michel Ancel's (the creator of Rayman) newest title for both the consoles and the PC. You play the game as Jade, a reporter on the world of Hillys, where the DomZ have been engaged in war will the governments Alpha Forces.

As the game begins you are immediatly thrown into a simple (and yet addictive) combat system. Easy to pull off combos and dispatch the DomZ in a whirl of spins and slashes will a long pole that Jade carries around with her.

As the game progresses a government conspiracy begins to surface, and you soon find yourself joining a radical group called Iris to expose the conspracy behind the Alpha Forces and the DomZ. To do this Jade will have to photograph evidence of the DomZ and other things, many twisting and reshaping your idea of the war on Hillys.

Being an Adventure game there is plenty to do in the open world, collecting pearls (your curancy to purchase upgrades for your ship) participate in races, and just explore the world similar to Wind Waker, but in a smaller and much more manigible size.

The puzzles and dungeons in the game are challanging, fun, and always a little different, making this a very enjoyable game. The only downside to this game is that it is very short, and the is no more to do after you finish the game except play it again (which is supprisingly fun to do), but with the two HUGE plot twists at the end (make sure to watch the entire credit sequence), it will keep you thinking for hours later, for the storyline and cut-scenes blend so well into the gameplay that this game sets new standereds for storyline design and developement.

This game is definately a hidden gem in the overcrowed gaming market, and it would be a sin to pass this one up!

beyond good and evil is such a good, entertaining game i wonder why and how it got overlooked and had its price bombed. though not entirely, ridiculusly, ludicrusly difficult, it is just a little hard. but the gameplay is so varied and story so entertaining u dont really mind and want to continue playin to get to the end. plz dont over look this game, ubisoft is on a rooollll with games like beyond good and evil, splinter cell, prince of persia, and now that beyond good and evil is twenty bucks, u got no reason not to pick up some good fun.

Beyond Good & Evil is one of the greatest games of the current console generation. It has a beautiful world, engaging story, and rememerable characters. This game has that magical ambience that the truly special games always have; you get pulled through the TV screen into this wonderful, ficticious world and you never want to leave. Once you start playing the game will stay on your mind and simply make you smile.

The variety in gameplay is awesome. There's Zelda-style adventuring (in a gorgeous sci-fi setting), hovercraft driving, spaceship flying (really COOL), and intense stealth gameplay. You couldn't ask for more from a game.

If you want a game that is a true work of art, get BG&E. Open your mind and leave behind those tired sport games and soulless, ultra-violent drivel (i.e. manhunt, true crime, etc.). This game gets my highest recommendation.

Two things: 1) It is sooooo sad that there is no sequel to this game out there to be found. 2) It's very hard to put into words my feelings about how great this game is. It is the best game that i've ever played, and among the 100+ games that I own, no other game has yet to make me as happy playing it more than Beyond Good and Evil has . I have 2 copies (one for game cube and one for x-box). Great story, beautiful graphics, nice action, wonderful music, and loads of fun. Sometimes it takes a lot to spend time and energy playing a game, but this is one game that's really worth it. I only hope that a sequel is made someday. It would be a shame if one wasn't.

This game is the best game I recieved this christmas by far. The combos that you can use when figting are really cool and fighting enemies is very fun. Taking pictures is also a really fun part of the game, too. The animals are usually all easy to take pictures of and make this game even more intresting than it regularly would. This is also a beutiful world that you can do as you please in with your hovercraft. Everyone should own this game! Buy it now!

Beyond Good & Evil is a platformer type game for the Xbox. You play a girl named Jade, whose world is being invaded by the evil aliens known as, "Doms". Even though there are platforming game elements (jumping puzzles, switches and hidden passageways), it plays and looks amazing! You can go hunting for orbs (money), go hunting for creatures, take photos (also pays money), race in your hovercraft, play alien mini-games, go shopping, upgrade your hovercraft, explore caverns or walk through the city, talk to characters, discover secret areas, and uncover an evil conspiracy. Your hovercraft is your primary means of transport which can of course travel and both land and water and is equipped with self-repair bots(limited) and laser cannon (unlimited). You'll fight against the most bizzare creatrures and they look awesome! Even the world looks awesome its a living, breathing world filled with alien inhabitants. You'll even see flying cars (think Bladerunner), futuristic building and exotic islands. The free-form gameplay (go almost anywhere, do almost anything) is what really makes this game shine! And the amazingly beautiful graphics is icing on this yummy game. If you like platformers or free-form gameplay go buy this game!
