In my eyes there has never been a good All Star Baseball game untill 05. The Franchise is very nice and so is the expansion teams. Pickup Games are very fun. The movments are very real. Xbox live is very fun. The stadiums are very very real. There is trivia between innings. I highly highly reccomend this game.

It may be America's favorite pasttime, but baseball is not the easyest sport to make a videogame out of. "All Star Baseball 2005" is best baseball game since "The Baseball simulater" on Super NES. The graphics are amazing. Very detailed Major League Ball Parks. You get everything you get watching a game on TV. The comentary is awesome. You can even get it in Spanish! There are even trivia questions between inings!
As far as the gameplay goes hiting and throwing poeple out takes some getting used to. It is pretty much impossible to pic someone off. With some practice anyone who loves Baseball will have fun playing this game. Kurt Schilling has the best arsonal of pitches in this game. I like the throwback jerseys.

I love baseball and I love this videogame. It has the features all the others wish they had. Forget the pretenders. This is the game I love. Any game that takes me away from watching movies and games and other fun stuff, is a game with panache. I am eager to play this game. I can't say that about every game.

First off, let me say that this rating is a very strong 4 stars. I will not give any baseball game a 5 star rating until a create-a-ballpark feature becomes available. Going into this spring, last years World Series Baseball 2K3 was the one to beat and All-star Baseball 2004 was horrible. The batter's system was horrible and the graphics were sub-par.

On to this year's version. I always buy two titles a year. Why? Because one title doesn't have everything. Usually the game play is better on WSB and the stadium selection is superb on ASB. And at $39.99, ASB 2005 was a steal. The graphics have improved and the game play is the biggest turn around!! Especially the batting interface. One major complaint though. I hate having to earn the special features of the game!!!!! Argh!!!!! ASB 2005 advertises over 80 ballparks, however, until you complete a few (a dozen or so) specialty situation games, you can only access about a third of the ballparks. I bought the game, you have my money, no give me what I want!!!!!!

Pros
-better graphics
-much improved batter interface!!
-very unique and imaginative ballparks (only seen about 1/3)
-batting stances and pitching windups are very accurate

Cons
-can't access all of the special features (very frustrating)
-haven't used expansion mode yet (last year's was a pain)
-Jeter has too much power (however, I can get over this)

Bottom line....at $39.99...it's a steal!

Same Old Game

This is the same old game. The batting is still terrible. The fielding is still impossible. And, most of all, it is just boring. My advice to improve this game would be to open up the batting/scoring and increase the speed of the defenders so that you can actually play defense. MVP Baseaall 2004 has all these functions already, making it much more fun to play.

This game is great!

This game is great, except for maybe a few little things! A great aspect of this game is that it has four different types of ways that you can hit! If you just want to time it right so that you can hit, you are able to do that. If you want to hit the ball where it is pitched, (inside, outside, high and inside, etc.)and time it right at the same time then you can do that. If you want to have a 2-D cursor and not tell the game where you want to hit the ball you can do that. And, if you want to have a 3-D cursor and tell the game where you want to hit the ball then you can do that also. Another great thing is that if you think that the pitching is too fast or too slow, then you can either speed it up or slow it down. The gameplay is great, it sounds like you are really watching a game on T.V. The fielder cam is a little hard to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it is really exciting. The graphics by themself are a little choppy, but overall they are good. The announcers do repeat some of the phrases sometimes later on in the game (7th, 8th inning, etc.) but still sound like you are really listening to a game. Batting stances, pitching wind ups, and fascial features are all really accurate. The only problem that I have with this game, is that if you get used to the timing while hitting, then it is way to easy to hit homeruns! If you are looking for a fun and exciting game, All Star Baseball 2005 would be it!
