I love Medal Of Honor. Something about killing Nazis, who represent pure evil, set against the backdrop of the Greatest Generation, makes this a great franchise. I recently got my PSP, and was looking for a new game for my trips. The price could not be beat, and, much to my surprise, neither could the gameplay.
First, it was far more detailed than I imagined; almost no change in graphics from PS2. Second, the missions are alternately easy and hard, giving you a good sense of challenge and accomplishment. Finally, the use of the controls is actually good. Shortcuts, like a double tap right to bring up a grenade instead of cycling through your inventory, help a lot.
Overall, I just wish there were more missions! Still, after conquering most of Europe, who am I to complain?

Just picked up a PSP and decided to get this game based on prior Metal of Honor games for Xbox that I've owned. For a portable game it is pretty good. The graphics are good overall, the game play is good, and the on-line play can be fun after some practice. Only complaints so far are:
1.) Controls- takes a while to get use to the controls.
2.) Game dialog- the game keeps saying the same stuff over and over.
Outside of those two items I think the game is good for the current price.

I just picked up a PSP Daxter bundle, with five more games (not including the game with the bundle), including this one. I was eager for some FPS WWII action and some godd multiplayer on the go. Sadly, this game doesn't rise above average.
First, let me start with the controls. This is how to do a FPS on the PSP. One uses the X, O, triangle, and square buttons to look around and the analog stick to move. The shoulder buttons are for zooming and shooting, and the d-pad is used to use medkits, reload, and cycle weapons. As you can see, every button is used to the fullest, and there is little room to do anything in the game but shoot Germans. Most of the missions involve capturing a post or picking up some secret plans, and then escaping. It would get repetitive, except for the fact that the game doesn't even last long enough to do that. I was on veteran (medium) difficulty and the game lasted 3-4 hours. Even on hero difficulty, it took less than six hours. It's not that the missions aren't difficult, but that they are too short. The longest one took was about fifteen minutes, and there were a couple I beat in three, leaving me with a sense of wanting much more. Your squadmates will constantly throw grenades and hit you, and with only one medkit, some of the missions would depend on finding another health pack.
Now, I have been a bit critical. However, there are many good aspects to the game. First is the controls. The shooting controls are tight and frantic, even on a handheld. They may take a bit to get used to, but they work extremely well once you do. The graphics are also very good for a handheld, probably in the line of late PSone, early PS2 games. The colors are bright, but it's hard to enjoy them when you've faced the same generic forest, snow, and open plain levels in other, better WWII FPS games. The multiplayer also holds up very well, and is extremely easy to set up. It would be tons of fun, but, sadly, few people are ever signed on.
All in all, it turned out to be only decent. It rehashed many themes done in previous games of the like, but it did rehash them pretty well, and provides some good shooter action on the go. Don't go in expecting too much, and you may want to pick this one up on the bargain rack.

The game is a lot of fun to play. The graphics are good and the action is intense. Yet, my greatest problem with this, and with a whole lot of today's games, is that it is way too short. Ten hours or less of game play to beat a first person shooter is far too short to make it worth the purchase price.

For years, I was a huge Medal of Honor fan. Then, along came MOH:Rising Sun, and suddenly I wasn't as huge an Honor fan as I thought I was. The fact of the matter is that game pretty much made me give up on WWII FPS games in general. Fast forward ahead to when Coded Arms came out for the PSP, that one pretty much made me give up hope of any decent FPS for a handheld. So, why then did I get Medal of Honor Heroes for the Playstation Portable? Good Question. Well, one thing- I was hankering for a good FPS to play regardless of whether it was for the PSP, PS2 or some other platform. While I was looking, someone tells me how great MOH Heroes was. I chuckle and say "You are kidding...right?". Seeing them keep a straight face and answering "No-I'm not kidding!" pretty much made me a believer. "If you liked the first two Medal of Honor games on the Playstation, you'll definitely love this one...I assure you.", they tell me. I tell the guy I have my PSP with me and would he mind if I tried it before I bought it. He gives me the okay, I go get my PSP and end up playing the game for more than a half hour before buying it.
Medal of Honor Heroes pretty much gets everything right. A Top-notch presentation(course, what do you expect from EA anyways?), Pleasing gameplay(although the single-player campaign is kinda short), Outstanding multiplayer variety(32 player games, people), Controls are dead-on for a handheld FPS, way better than Coded Arms anyday. Lastly, the graphics give off a great cinematic quality to them(meaning it looks marvelous). I'm really impressed. It's the best Handheld FPS on the Playstation Portable. A game that other developers making FPS games should take notes from.
My faith in the Medal of Honor series is starting to be restored.
THE BEST!

A few months ago, when amazon was selling this same game for $20 through target(or the other way around) this game was a great bargain. It gave nice and stylish graphically amazing gameplay with an online option in a portable package. For $40 im not so sure. This game was pretty amazing fot 20 but u may have to rethink the descision to buy it at 40.

I have to say there has yet to be another game for the PSP that hits this level of play. Especially the multiplayer aspect. It's as good as sitting at your home PC. BUY THIS GAME if you love multiplayer and the PSP
