Unfortunately, they scratched it pretty bad after only 1 week of use. But for that one week, they enjoyed it.

I think grannies can be a little tough on this game. The farting and belching is all in fun. The Game Play can be a little tough to master at first. The fact about jumping that people don't get is...
If you can jump up it, you will be able to jump in one jump. If you need to double-jump to get to a higher place, you will need to bouce off of a wall. The worlds are a lot of fun and the graphics are cool. There are plenty of fun things to find and power-ups to get. It's nice to play as a full sized Shrek. As opposed to the small, multi-player characters in Shrek 2...which is also fun, but different.

I bought this game for my 5 year old son who loves Shrek. This game was way too difficult for him to play by himself. Shrek is just too hard to manouver and the tasks are too difficult for a child.

Mixture of laughs, challenges and plain frustration

Overall, I enjoyed the game - it is a typical quest storyline, with tasks to complete at each level, and there are many challenges to engage your mind. However, parents should note:
1. The game is far too difficult for small children - Shrek can be difficult to manouver in some cases and directions are hard to understand.
2. It is not likely that a small child would have the skill necessary to look at some of Shrek's "problems" from different angles to solve them. I had to stop, retrace my steps, and try a different strategy numerous times.
3. The tasks to complete each level are basically simple... EXCEPT for the last task. The final task of every level includes one item/creature that must be found BUT this item/creature is hidden in such a way that you must search every last space on the level to find it. (This is extremely frustrating!
4. Finally, there are very poor help options - the story book does not provide much information when you are looking for clues.
If you want a challenge, this is your game.

This game is not very good as one could take from my rating it 1 star out of 5. The training in the start of the game is spread out across several different training grounds and their is no logical flow to the training. Also, the aspect of emmiting gas at your enemies is funny to a potty mouthed five year old but no one else. Finally, the usage of the top down view map to get to the different areas is boring and obviously needs some work. In conclusion, Shrek Extra Large focuses on how big a fart you have instead of fun and interesting gameplay (Don't buy it!)

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY! YIKES!!!

Words cannot describe how bad this game is. I can't tell if it is the design of the game to not actually be able to accomplish anything other than running around farting and burping, or if something is wrong with it! What a disappointment!! PLEASE, moms and dads reading this, do not waste your money on this poorly designed, silly, horrible game. Find something your kids can actually play!!!

My first objection is it's too easy to die, and you die without any warning. So I got a Game Replay and programmed infinite life. Then the camera angles are very difficult. It's not easy to see up, and sometimes up is where you need to go. And it's not easy to turn around and position yourself to jump. Then jumping is really hard because Shrek sort of jumps backward. He has to hurl himself in not the opposite but a slightly angled position from where he actually wants to jump to and bounce off something. This is just a pain. Then the final deal-breaker is you have to complete five or six tasks on each level. Two of them, catching fairies and finding Easter eggs, you don't need to complete to move to the next level, but all the rest you do, and if something is very difficult for you, then you're stuck. I am not good at time trials, and each level involves doing something really fast and perfectly, and as it got progressively harder, I had to quit and get rid of the game. My Achilles Heel was the time trial in Molasses Sewer where you had to speedily run to a switch in 30 seconds, and the run involved those dreaded backward jumps. And the visuals are kind of dark and dreary. The game is a real cheap-o considering how much care and excellence went into the movie. Why did they allow this to get made? And where's Donkey? And all that gas passing and lighting your own gas, how stupid. And some of the hints are misleading. Like you get a hint to light your own gas to blow open a door when you are standing next to a door which even has an onion so you can get more gas, but that turns out not to be the door you need to blow open. It's way somewhere else. That door does nothing. Why give it an onion and a hint?
