Bought the game last week and our 6 and 8 y.o. kids like it so far, it's fun but definitely not on par with Harry Potter or Finding Nemo. The movie is much much more fun than the game. It doesn't have what we call the 'stickiness' factor. You can play as Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and few other characters and it's better to play as a team than as a single player. The game, however, is far too short for the full price. Most GC games of equal or better quality are much cheaper. I feel I paid $10-$20 extra for the marketing and hype. For those who like Shrek, think about renting it (can be finsihed over a weekend) or wait few weeks until it gets discounted.
A nice game....

This was a fun game, even thought it was a bit short. It was fairly easy, but entertaining. I enjoyed being able to play all the different charaters. Little Red and Puss 'n Boots were my favorite for their attacks. I think young kids will really get a kick out of it, but serious gamers would probably pass on it unless they really, really love Shrek 2. (...)it's definately worth renting from the video store. Be careful though, too many hours of gameplay can temporarily fry your Gamecube because the game moves at such high RPM(it's got a lot of high end graphics and cut scenes).
Excellent game for younger players (age 8 and up)!

I read the reviews here and was doubtful about the game. My son really wanted it so I rented it first. It is a perfect level for him. I actually like playing it, too! Earlier reviewers said it was "too short and easy." That may be the case for advanced gamers, however, it is challenging and interesting enough for my son who is 8 years old. After renting it we decided to buy it!

My 7 year old got Shrek 2 for his birthday and LOVES IT! He said whoever made this game is a genious. My 10 year old loves it also. We recently purchased the game for 2 other kids who also say the game is great. I would highly recommend buying this game.

I purchased this game for my 9-year-old son and he loves it. The plot, graphics, and animation are very well done and a sense of humor is exhibited throughout. I find it fascinating that each character has a different super-power, and they must work together to reach objectives. So, the game teaches teamwork! This is one of the best Gamecube games I have seen for the under-12 age group.
awesome team play

my kids are not realy into team playing and "COOPERATION" but this allowed them to really learn how to put the virtue of "PATIENCE" and "TEAM SPIRIT" into practice with fellow gamers be family members or neighborhood kids. my youngest kid even learned how to be thorough and is really using his skills to pay attention to details!!! It's a one of a kind game! I really give this game a 5 stars X 1,000,000!
Its OK.....

I bought this game after I saw the movie. The movie was great, and I thought the game would be just as good. I played this game for about 15 min. and put it down. On the bright side, the graphics are great and its quite funny.
PROS:
-game control
-quite funny
-graphics
CONS:
-replay value
Overall- 6\10

This is not a game for "serious gamers" but it's a great family game, especially for families with children of different ages who like to play games together. Being a cooperative game makes it a lot more fun to play with people of varying skill levels. It's easy enough that my 4 year old can play, but challenging enough that older kids and parents may have to try over and over to complete the "hero time" quests. My kids enjoy replaying it even though we've already finished the game. I wish there were more games like this that encourage cooperative play. My only compaint is that the "puzzle-solving" aspect might be a little too easy.
Fairly Decent...

This game was ok, it served it's purpose. Me and my friend had fun trading off the controller and playing it together.
It was, of course, not as good at the movie. The graphics weren't the best and I agree that it has no replay value.
However, it was very cool to be able to play all the different characters from the movie and use all their different powers to solve puzzles.
All in all, it's worth a rental.
