Capcom, they gave us the genre known as Survivor Horror. If you have played any of the previous RE titles(game cube), such as Remake, then your used to the entire ordeal of making antidote and what not. This game is awesome! But buy only if you have not played and beaten it on the other systems, cause it runs the exact same, even still, you should buy it for the ultimate Resident evil collection. It is a great series but no true plot twist, wait till the end of this year for part four that will be you best bet.
One of the Best Re games yet

Resident Evil Code Veronia X is one of the best RE games on the game cube to date (RE-4 is not out yet, and it is looking like it will overtake RE CVX). But not counting RE4, RE CVX could very likely be the best RE game yet. This game is so great, you start off as Claire on an island, the virus leaks after an old enemy launches an attack on the island. You then must get off the island which is easier said than done, however you meet a new friend along the way. You finally get off (if you're good that is) and then you go to a very cold base (take a guess where). After playing as Claire for a while longer, her brother Chris takes over, he arrives on the island and finds it is empty (well almost empty). He must then fight his way off the island and get to the base where Claire is. The games ending sequence is great, and it alone is worth the game price... Your Resident Evil collection will be incomplete unless you add Resident Evil Code Veronica X to it.

A slightly less impressive port of the original Dreamcast game with some extra features, pretty much sums up the GCN version of Code Veronica X. This is a great game, one of the better Resident Evil\'s in my opinion. Now, if you still have a Dreamcast, you should get it is more impressive visually and the VMU health meter is a nice touch and alternative instead of having to hit pause to check your current condition) Capadded about 5 minutes of cutscenes to this version, but really, if you never see them, you\'re not missing out on much as it\'s basically just a bunch of the cut scenes slightly longer and a more drawn out ending sequence (which actually hinders the moment IMO) So, if you don\'t have a Dreamcast, I\'m sure you can look past the few flaws and enjoy your 5 minutes extra of a great Resident Evil game. Good Storyline, but mediocre gameplay

Nintendo has released another RE onto the GC, and yes, just like the other games, its just a port. This game's graphics aren't necessarily bad (in fact, this game came out on PS2) but they don't compare to the quality that the console can handle. So, what is going on this time? Claire gets locked up in Rockfort Island for trying to infiltrate the Umbrella Paris Facility. Unfortunately, she doesn't find her brother there.
In a shocking twist, the island gets attacked and the T-Virus is once again released to wreck havoc upon poor Claire.
Okay, the main problem I had with this game is the sound. Especially the voice actors (excluding Claire) who sound like they have no idea how to act. For example, the Alfred character sounds like a total retard. Sure he may be a little messed up, but he's also intelligent (with gadgets and locks, you should see the puzzles in this game).
Another thing, they have changed nothing where the other games had something new (eg RE2 had Scenarios, RE3 had Nemesis and so on). This game had me disappointed when I completed it.
So the big question here is, 'is it worth buying?' To that I would answer Yes to the fans of the series and to those who want to get into to it, but No to those who are tired of this mechinac and want something new. No monsters will chase you into other rooms (like RE3) and there is nothing new put a first person shooter like mode that has little use and has to be unlocked.
People who bought Code Veronica for Dreamcast might want to try this one out for the extra scenes involving a character loved and hated by many.
Pros:
- Has additional scenes that involve an old rival
- The storyline is some what good, but a little hard to follow at times
- There's an option in the battle mode to be in First Person mode.
Cons:
- This is just a port of RE:CVX on PS2
- The graphics could have been so much more better
- The controls in FP mode are very annoying
- The VO's can drive you crazy (excluding Claire's)
What a game!!!!

I just finished this game yesterday. While I was playing the game I was quite scared playing it (as usual). This game is really good. The ending was starting out a little surprising from a guest but overall it was good. I really like the battle game at the end after you finish the game. I would recommend this game to anyone.
Fun but my least favorite Evil

Being a Resident Evil fan who's gotten into the series recently, it's kind of hard to play each game and figure out which ones your favorite since the newer ones tend to be the most treasured while the oldies show their age and just aren't that fun. Whereas the REmake is probably my favorite so far, Code Veronica I could classify as my least favorite out of the main canon games. It's not that it's a bad game overall since it's RE as we all know it and love it and it's more progressive in its story than 3 was but at the same time, it just wasn't as fun to play as the others.
Story: 3 months after the Raccoon City incident (depicted in RE2 and 3), Claire Redfield is captured after an unsuccessful raid at an Umbrella Headquarters in Paris and imprisoned at an Umbrella-owned island named Rockford Island. Teaming up with a fellow prisoner, Steve Burnside, Claire finds out the background behind one of the Umbrella founders and their family as well as the plot set by an old acquaintance.
Graphics: I think it's very easy to say that Code Veronica is probably the blandest of all the games as far as graphics go. At least the Playstation games looked at least a bit colorful and while it did look polygon-deficient at times and other things were awkward, CV at times looks more impressive with bigger camera moves during gameplay, improved character designs and animation and 3D background uses as opposed to pre-rendered ones. However, the color scheme, with its dull grey-blue combo, just looks bland and the games doesn't have as vibrant a color palette as any of the games.
Sound/Music: Whereas the series always had bad voice acting, Code Veronica doesn't stray from this with actors for Steve and Alfred just sounding awful and while Claire's voice fits her character, others have either unemotional or just awkward readings. The music as well is not that memorable and while some music is exciting and gets you going, it leaves your brain rather quickly and even the always dependable Save Room music doesn't really hit me.
Gameplay: CV is the first RE I've played in awhile that doesn't bear resemblance to recent ones like Zero or REmake. Meaning that there's a noticeable difference in a few things such as zombies who die or get shot, the weird nonsensical puzzles (granted, they always had them but these at times felt vague) and a greater emphasis is placed on ammo consumption since you can easily find yourself sans bullet should you shoot everything. But CV, while a good story, just doesn't have the best presentation and the opening Rockfort Island section just didn't excite me like the mansion or the police station did.
As far as the difficulty is concerned, the game is a little bit unforgiving at times since there's plenty of zombies who can take their fair share of bullets and when they can respawn after awhile, it gets trying to duck around them when there's not enough space to (not to mention their rather long reach). Puzzles as well can be difficult to figure out and it's hard to tell how to solve a puzzle since the second half is meant to solve the puzzle while you're looking all over trying to figure it out and plus, who builds stuff like this anyway?
The story is interesting and it's always good to see the Redfields have their own game but Code Veronica is a game that needs a REmake-style overhaul since the game itself is just good enough to warrant a playthrough.

This is one of the under appreciated RE titles. Although it doesn't fit into the story's official continuity (never referenced in future sequels) it was still fun during it's time (initial release. It follows the Redfield brother and sister as they battle Umbrella Inc.'s bio weapon minions.
Excellent Game

I enjoy so much all the resident evils' games and Code Veronica was the last game that I haven't played until I bought it here. For me was a great game.
Great game but so far one of my least favorites.

This game was great with graphics compared to RE2 and 3. The game play was a tad bit annoying.. such as hitting the A button to go up stairs. Now for my biggest complant. The final boss is by far the biggest pain in you know where. I rated it this way because in general its a great game but it does not give you enough of certain things.
I hated it!!!!

This game sucked, bottom line. I bought it "used" from Gamestop and talked my way into returning it so that I can get something better for my hard earned money. The cut scenes are so cheesy (who's with me in saying that this Anime crap has gotten out of hand already?) and the controls are too annoying to get used to. Silent Hill games are so much better than Resident Evil games.
