Worst Golf Game...EVER

When I first saw this game I thought "Great, a NFL Blitz style golf game." Boy, was I wrong. The screens take forever to load and the controls are terrible (You have to pull your analog stick down until you get to the level of power you want, than push it up. If you slightly move the stick left or right when you push it back up, it puts a nasty slice on your ball). After I bought this game, about a hour later I took it to a trade-in store for credit. Please, whoever made this game, leave the extreme sports games to Midway.
Lot's of Fun!!!

First off, I would only recommend this game for teen and adult players. It has some aspects, like beating ones caddy and sexual innuendos, that make it a little inappropriate for the younger folks. Also, the gameplay is somewhat similar to slightly more serious golf games (a.k.a. Tiger Woods Golf), in that it requires a certain amount of precision to stroke the ball properly. What makes this game stand out is the uniques characters with entertaining personalities, coupled with a composure factor that measure a players level of frustration. Of course, poor composure can be remedied by making a good shot, or beating up one's caddy. Lots of fun in multiplayer mode as well. Our family spent hours over the holidays playing this game. I would recommend this for people that like to play golf games, enjoy relaxed gameplay, and are looking for something different.

i have never been able to stay entertained very long with a golf game, lets face it, golf is pretty boring unless your the one playing, for real, out on a course, but this game is almost better than golfing in real life! If you liked happy gilmoure for its perspective on golf, then this is the game for you. you can beat your caddy and then feel better about yourself, producing better shots. the turorials arent nearly exciting enough, expect for Scrummys rendition of "putting". that is one of the funniest things i have ever seen in golf, and its informative too! but the fun really comes when your playing with someone who is horrible, the annoncer keeps putting them down and their expecations show them getting so mad that sometimes they they take a full swing at their caddy with their club, and yes, they make contact. each character comes with his/her own unique caddy. the only complaint i have is the courses, on 3 and they're too easy. putting that aside this is a great game. and get ready top laugh. almost everthing said in this game is funny.
Fun concept runined by bad controls

I rented this game to try it out. The concept is fun and the courses are interesting. In general the game follows most golfing game scenarios, pick a golfer, play in a competion, the more you win the more golfers and better equipment you get to use. While the concept is fun, it is ruined by the control system, esp for putting. While the controls are the same as with most golf games, control back and forward for the stroke, the physics for hitting a draw or fade is incorrect, you actually have to use a different control to set where you want to hit the ball for a draw or a fade instead of incorporating it into the stroke like in Tiger Woods 2003. The putting stroke is horrid, depending on the distance to the aim point a 50% stroke can take you 4 ft up to 50 ft. This makes it next to impossible to create a repeatable putting stroke.
In summary, if you want a golf simulation game, go buy Tiger Woods. If you want something to play with your buds over a six pack get Outlaw Golf.
My high hopes were completely shattered

I recently bought a Game Cube, and I was looking for a golf game. Outlaw Golf seemed enticing because it is designed for a more mature crowd and supposedly contains "strong language", "suggestive themes", and "mild violence." Since golf naturally runs the risk of being a little boring, I figured this game would be the lively alternative I was looking for.
Let me tell you, this game is really NOT FUN at all. It is a terrible golf game, and the adult themes and language are really just more hoaky than humorous or entertaining. The "strong language" sounds more like one of the edgier episodes of the Brady Bunch. Besides all of this, the controls on this game are finnicky and ultimately frustrating.
I am not a video game snob at all, I normally like about every game I play. This one, however, just isn't fun. There a couple other golf games for Game Cube... buy one of those.

We rented this game a few days ago and having been playing it non-stop ever since. We're rushing out to buy it. Besides the hilarious characters and funny commentary, we love that it's a truly realistic golf game. People have been complaining about how touchy the controls are...but that's how real golf is! You move your club just the slightest bit right or left and you're in the rough! It's very realistic. Even down to the composure..you hit a great shot, you're happy as can be. Hit that bad one, and you're pissed off. I'd recommend renting this game before buying just to make sure it's your cup of tea....but we LOVED it!

We rented this game thinking that it was a NFL-Blitz style game--full contact, bash em up golf. We were sorely disappointed. There is very little fighting in it, and what little 'beatings' there are cannot be controlled by the player. Besides that, the control is very hard to use and ultimately frustrating. This is one of the worst games on GameCube. If you want a good golf game, get Tiger Woods 2003.
A Must Have for any Gamer

This Is the best golf game I've ever played! The Tiger Woods golf series is more realistic and life like, but this is much more fun. The Characters and Announcer are all very funny, and you can improve your Character's power, accuracy and composure on the practice course. You can even beat up your caddy! This game will have you hooked for days!
