Anything but this

I've begun to lose faith in my subscription to Game Informer, which in its Nov 2003 issue rated the game an 8, maybe an 8.5 out of 10. Girded with such a positive review, I bought the game first day of spring break. One week later, I was so fed up with the sloppy controls and clumsy combat system that I sold it back for a copy of Splinter Cell, a far superior title. About the controls, they're so slow that little Glitch will take damage from stray gunfire before getting out of its way; the animation for changing weapons is so slow that you'll be critically damaged before getting a shot off with the newly selected weapon; Glitch moves too slowly to evade enemies (particularly the regenerating revenenant robots in a later level); finally, adding insult to injury, the aiming controls are so sloppy that you almost have to get in an enemy's face just to shoot it successfully, draining you of much-needed energy. Many games have lackluster control systems, but this one is so bad that it completely debilitates whatever fun could have been derived from the admittedly great idea that this game was. With no titles of the calibre of Ratchet and Clank or Jak II, this, unfortunately, is the best showing of platform shooting that the Gamecube has mustered. Instead, play Nintendo's proprietary titles (Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc) if you haven't already, along with other hits such as Splinter Cell and the Metal Gear Solid remake, and leave Glitch's trash compactor corpse by the curb.

Everything about this game sucks @$$!!!!! First off the controls are sloppy and the graphics are total crap. The plot is as deep as DONKEY KONG. It takes a million shots to damage one guy. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!

This is an exciting game from start to finish. The third-person shooter is about constant survival and strategy, and yet it is never too serious or too hard. It is "light" entertainment in the middle of a war. It is basically you versus the evil mil bots because the occasional assistance you receive never lasts long. Their are even levels with creatures whom possess an unquenchable thirst for fresh oil to keep you on your toes. The game has a multiplayer mode with no CPUs to battle, but their is still endless replayability as the single-player levels are so much fun to play over and over again. The music is great too.
