I should start off by saying that I .... have been playing Mega Man games since they first came out in the USA. But over the years I kind of skipped over the X series, and the Battle Network series.
For a while I had planned on getting this title, but really had to wrestle over my decision for a week or so. ...
Let me say, I shouldn't have worried -- THIS GAME RULES! More fun than most other games these days. The graphics are gorgeous 2.5d -- you are limited to moving in 2 dimensions, but the graphics are pretty much 3d (as well as cel-shaded -- but the mix really works well). A lot like the style of Super Smash Brothers Melee. Lots of really nice lighting effects, backgrounds, etc.
But what this game is really about is the action! It's not really too tough, but it's still challenging. Not mind-numbingly impossible by any means, but not a total cynch, either. It's the kind of game that sucks you in, and because you are having so much fun you don't notice how much time is passing. This is a good thing! Yes, you may have to go through levels a number of times to get them right -- who cares? That's what it's all about!
At first I found the chip system a little bit confusing, but now that I understand it, I really like it a lot -- tons of special weapons and flexibility in your approach to taking on the bad guys. The control scheme is very easy to learn, so you will be able to jump right in and start blasting viruses and navis gone wild.
GET THIS GAME -- don't question your decision, just get it, and you will be happy. Activates that little dopamine generator in your brain that not many games these days manage. Thank you, Capcom! And might I add, what a very reasonable price for a brand new title...Here, here!

people, so what if its hard, isnt that what makes the game FUN?! (poor sports..) and bsides if u cant get past a part just go on an online strat guide jeez! and some people are complaining about the japanese talking...thats wut makes it better.......... Dubbed(American Voices) < Subbed (Japanese Voices Wit Subtitles) and im betting that the american voice would be MUCH more annoying than the japanese one (and bsides, dont u think japanese ppl would b annoyed when dey here english?), as most dubbed anime voices sound horrible....anyways...this is a great game buy it ;)

I played this at a friends house and I loved it. It took me a while to get to a good chip but it rocked! I would recommend this game. Even though it is the 3rd 3D megaman game, it is the best of them all. It is almost perfect but it is too easy to miss with the swords but if you get a hit you have a good chance of getting a chip.
the best (and most annoying) game ever!

ok, after reading the other reviws your gonna say this game [is bad]. well your WRONG! Im an extreme gamer and this game's bosses are tough. It takes a while to beat them, so if you buy this game, here's a tip for the first boss. Slide under the fire when it's about to touch you.I'm probably close to beating the game (all that i know is left is the Zero Account and the Undernet), but im probably not. ive beaten about 9 of the bosses, but i really like the game. So get off your butt and go buy the game...
A Great game, huh. (Ha ha Higsby)

I have played and beaten all three Battle Networks. They were great with an awsome, easy to pick up battle system, chips, a great story and full customization of MegaMan. Transmission is different though. Fans of the original sidescrollin' MegaMan will be able to relate to the left to right get-to-the-end-of-the-screen kind of thing. While Battle Network fans will lap up the story, characters etc. To be a true fan of this game you must love sidescrolling and RPg's. I LOVE battle network because it has all the great aspects of an RPG. Transmission is just strange. I miss controlling Lan and have to read sub-titles from Japanise dialog. Overall I liked this game and if it is hard then big whoop. Thats the point of a video game dummy.
Commendation to Capcom

Capcom has issued many of the jump and blast Mega Man games we've all come to know and love. Though it's usually more of the same, the games are unique themselves and always offer different things using the same gameplay style. This game (unlike a lot of people) lived up to my expectations and more. Not only does it bring back the original gameplay style and feel, but it also incorporates 3D side-scrolling environments and cel-shaded characters as well as other objects in a GCN installment of the Battle Network series. What makes it so different from the "norm" of Mega Man is the incorporation of chip usage. This gives Mega Man so many more techniques and power at his disposal. It also enables more flexibility for the stages. The only setback is like Mega Man Zero, it can be pretty frustrating unless you are a player with pinache. But elite status and finesse all come with practice! To conclude, I want to point out that this game wouldn't be very good for smaller kids, since it does get complicated and difficult periodically.
cool, Thats it I don't like to right titles for reviews

This game is rocks. You may battle agaist gutsman, flameman, Bass, Ice man, elec man and about everyone else from the tv shows. It is also an adventure game to and you jump Like the way in the games Megaman 1-3 and Megaman v.s. Samus Aran( Yes People it is a real game just find it on the web I don't like when people send me e-mails telling me there isn't I have it and it is fun but also lame). You get dozen of chips has well. Even add power-ups to megaman and give him armor that reduces some attacks by half which ever your wearing. The grafhics too are awsome but it is in japenese. Well I'm out of here see ya.
viva la megaman!

I love this game,it is really good!(and just to let some of u know-it actully is in 3-d) it is hard though-but if some of you can't get past fireman,im ashamed-im 12 and i beat him my like 4th try!
anyway-it is a hard game-but,thats one more reason to buy it-more time to work on the game. but the only thing i find hard,is the bosses-i mean fireman was pretty tough-but i think Gutsman is just plain difficult!
overall-you must be prepared to-see stuning graphics-get many powerups-and fight kinda cheap bosses-but i still love the game!
Awesome
