A bit better than Lego Star Wars I

Lego Star Wars II is a bit better than Lego Star Wars I.
Each level comes with a few more challenges (such as collecting enough "studs" to achieve "True Jedi Status" in both the story mode and the free play mode). I play this game with my 7 year old son and he loves it. The game play is easy enough for him to do alone, but the levels are long enough and complex enough that he ususally needs my "help" to find his way through to the end of the level.
We have played the "story" part of the game for the Episode IV and half of Episode V so far. We have also played half of those levels in "freeplay" mode. We have not fully completed any level yet (we don't have a dark force user yet to access certain areas).
Cool things they have added compared to Lego Star Wars I:
- You get to drive vehicles (Speeders, AT-STs, etc) and ride animals during the levels as you are walking around.
- Characters punch instead of shooting when you are at close range to your enemies (this is tricky at first, but when you get used to it, it is a cool feature)
- You get to build things out of piles of legos
- There are bonus areas that are only accessable to certain types of characters (Bounty Hunters, Storm Troopers, etc) that make it more fun when you are in free play mode.
- Han Solo's character was really well done; he shoots sideways as he runs forward which makes getting through some areas a lot easier
Some things that I don't like (or haven't gotten used to yet):
- You can shoot/punch your partner by accident if you are standing too close together as you try to shoot the bad guys
- There is no clear "path" toward the finish on some levels which means you spend a lot of time "lost" trying to sort out what you should be doing
- There seems to be a bit more violence in this game that the first game (more smoke when you blow things up, Chewy will rip the arms off of bad guys when fighting hand to hand, etc.) One of the nice aspects to the first game was that although it was a shooting game, because it was legos, the bad guys would just fall to pieces and so it did not seem so violent. This game has gone a bit in the wrong direction in the violence department as far as I am concerned (but my son doesn't seem to care).
Basically, this game is more fun and should be more interesting for a longer time than the first game (we completely finished the first game in 3 months). It seems to be geared to a slightly older audience than the first game (more difficult "puzzle solving", more violence). But it is still easy enough for younger children. This game will require more parental involvement for really young players like my son, but it still a good game for the young ones.
fantastic

This is what my 7 year old has to say about this game ...."I love it when I am Greedo". He's addicted to this game as is my 5 year old son. It's not easy but it keeps them occupied and challenged.

My son is almost six and he loves this game! It's the same as the first Lego one but so nice to have an option now between the two. I even love to play with him!
I rate this five stars!

Lego Star Wars 2 Uses the Force to get it done.

I have yet to play Lego Star Wars 1, but I bought this game because I love the first three star wars movies (when I say first three, I mean the old movies). This game is just fun to watch, the short movies are great, they make me laugh. My wife even enjoyes watching the short movies, and she hates video games.
This is a must buy video game, for people who like star wars, or not. I love everything about this game adn have nothing bad to say about it.
I think that being able to play a video game, without all of the blood and gore that is out in other games, is very refreshing.
I love it when you use the force as Darth Vader; and Yoda, well Yoda is just cool.
Star Wars 2 gets five light sabers out of five, for one of the best video games out there for all ages.
Awesome Game

This game is awesome and a must have for any star wars or lego fan. In fact this game is a must have for all gamers.
Overall:(out of 10)
Story-9
Graphics-10
music-6
multiplayer-10
dificulty-9
fun-9
The story line of LSW2 is the same as the movies but in is so FUNNY!
If you have seen the movies you will laugh numerous times.Only down side about the story is they leave some things out.
The graphics on gamecube for this game are truly amazing this system.
My one gripe about this game is the music. It is repetitive and can get annoying.
The multiplayer in this game is really fun. I don't know how you would do some parts without multiplayer. One down side with the multiplayer is the camera can restrict you from moving away from the other player. This can get majorly annoying if you are playing with someone whos pupose in this game is to get through the level shooting everything and getting through as fast as they can without any respect for the studs and hidden secrets.
This game is suprisingly difficlult if you want to find everything in one level(a lot of stuff). The combat in this game is really easy with enemys that only take a few hits to kill.
Overall, this game is fun and i hope you buy it!
It's addictive fun!

Once you start, you just can't stop playing! Some levels are challenging to get through the first time but it get easier after a while because you can earn new characters. Everyone loves it, from our 4 year old to the adults.
So much fun!

My 10 year old son got this for Christmas and just loves it. He already had part 1 and could hardly wait for 2. It's a great wholesome game. No blood or guts. Would highly recomend it.

My son has loved Lego Star Wars 1 for over a year and now he has a new favorite (LSW II). He's thrilled with the characters and driving the vehicles. This is his favorite game.

If you like Legos and Star Wars (and the number 2) this is the game for you. Unlike the first game you get to mix and match caracters 9and play them in free mode). You also get to build stuff out of legos that are lying around for people who don't have the force. If your lucky it will be a viechle like a star ship, really bid droid thing, or ATATs (and some times a trator!) ,and you really get to ride them. There are also less lightsabers in this game. In place for that people with guns can hit. Yes, Chewbaca can rip clones arms of. This game won't make much sence to people who have never seen Star Wars before. But they try to make it clear that Darth Vader is lukes father ect. ect. with out talking.
