My daughter thought this game was a lot of fun. She really enjoyed being Scrat. The graphics are good with smooth game play. The controls are not confusing. However there were some parts that we VERY hard, even for me. The was a mini-game involving digging and one simon says style game involving a timer had had me at wits end. If you are getting this for young children expect to help them.
Game was way to easy and way to short. Took less then 5 hours to beat.

I watched Ice Age: The Meltdown on Blu-Ray DVD and loved it and the main characters. So I wanted to check out the game.
Maybe I am to much of a gamer for something like this, but I wanted to take a brake from playing adult games like Doom 3, Half Life 2, Resident Evil (pick a number), GTA, so I found out that my nephew had this game. Which was great becuase I really didn't want to buy it for $30. I didn't think I would be able to sit down and beat it in one day. Games now days are very long. 20 + hours. So I was expecting it to be really long.
I was surprised and dissapointed that the only character you could be was Scrat. They did have a Sid mini game (which was the best part of the game), but you only got to do that once. The game got really boring after about 2 hours of doing the same thing over and over. Gather nuts, find the golden nuts, exit the level. You didn't even have to fight the enemies, you coudl just run away from them. They did have one boss fight which was a spider but that was it. They also had about 3-5 other little mini games that you had to do to pass on to the next level. Overal I was thinking that eventhough this is a kids game, I couldn't really see kids liking it to much, becuase it was way to simply and you did the same thign over and over. After I beat it and unlocked the secrets, which there wasn't that many to unlock, I put this game in that pile of games you have that you never want to touch again. It has no replay value at all. I know kids shouldn't be playing M rated games, but I found that they last so much longer and have a better replay value to them then this.
I wish they made this game longer and you could play with all the charaters. Also make the levels different so you woudln't get bored so fast running around collecting nuts over and over.
Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 is also a great kids game. Very long, about 50 hours of game play.
Great game!

My granddaughter, age 10, loves this game and plays it until we tear her away to do other things.
May not be for expert gamers, but...

this is a fun, fun, fun game for everyone else. My son, who has cut his teeth on Metroid Prime, Mystic Heroes, and Prince of Persia, was beside himself with glee while playing this game. The idea of getting to portray Scrat on a quest for the Golden Nut is amusing in and of itself. The quest and the games are challenging, but not daunting, and geared more towards enjoyment and hilarity. If you are a practiced gamer, it's not too hard to avoid using up your lifeline and you come back where you left off instead of having to start back at the beginning of the level. Some games/levels were more difficult than others, but he'll probably be able to finish it before too long. It is a blast for him to play and, as it turns out, the only game I've ever felt compelled to watch! Very amusing. Highly recommended for the 6 to 10 year-old set and those who like milder but high-quality games.
