Great multiplayer

Yeah, the graphics aren't that great. But I don't really play the games because the graphics are good. Compared to my first video game (Asteroids), this is fantastic.

I play this with my 15 yr old son and we have a blast. I don't think it's really meant for a single player, there are really too many zombies for that. We haven't gotten that far into it so I can't tell you much about the game except that if you're looking for a multiplayer (serious lack of those!!) game, this would be a good bet. Up to 4 people can play (at the same time!)

Also, it's just a blood and guts killing game, if you're looking for adventure or a game with a purpose, this isn't it.

There's even a setting that that the players can kill each other which makes it really interesting if you're in a silly mood.

Adventure Action game

I too, played the game on Xbox. The graphics on live objects and scenery are rendered very realisticly with detailed texturing of surfaces. Controls can be difficult to control in the beginning, but they are consistent and easy to use.

And yes, you cannot shoot through objects, even if they have transparent areas like the many instances of iron fences. At least they offer you protection, while letting you see the enemy.

It is entertaining to play alone. But the game transcends into a whole new level of entertainment when playing together with your friends in multi player mode.

This Game is a strong buy and offers entertaining game play and true 3D environments where you can really look around, unlike the Resident Evil series, which only offers pre-rendered 2D environments for your 3D character to move around in.

This game is going to be the best. I mean what would you rather waste your time doing, helping mario clean up delfino island or fend off an army of undead zombies. I would go with the second. I know this game is going to rock and i can't wait.

Average Game

I got this game with all of my b-day money. It was pretty dumb of me though. Here is my review.

Graphics:Nothing great, but not the worst either. 3 out of 5.

Gameplay:Not too great either. You run around with the control stick and push R to shoot and aim with c-stick and push L to jump. Half of the time, when you are trying to shoot zombies or whatever creature is after you, your character will not aim at them. 3 out of 5.

Sound:Pretty average. 3 out of 5.

All in all, I wouldn't buy this game if I could go back in time. It is like Gauntlet, with better graphics and sound. I found this game very hard though. If you're looking for a fun game, get Cel Damage.

Not the best game out there

I baught this game. Its bad. the graphics [not good]. They remind me of an n64 game with bad graphics. and the game play is very repetetive. I got bored after 5 minutes. its like a bad version of gauntlet legends, but in a more modern time. If youre even thinking of getting it, rent it first. get gauntlet legends.

Pass this up

I am guilty of buying this game. I mostly baught it cause i thought the idea of me and three of my friends hunting hordes of zombies would be fun. It very well could have been if it was'nt so frustrating just to control your generic zombie hunter. I can't find a single thing about this game that was original. If the comic series is anything like this then it must be a pretty generic comic series. Anyway, The story is as lame as it gets. Four witnesses lock up the zombies in an old prison. They vow if the zombies ever break free they will return to stop them. Well sure enough the zombies break free. And that is where the game begins. the missons are basically all the same. you just find horde after horde of zombies through the city. dealing with an occasional boss every now and then. Well this is all i can say about the game. it is not any fun. Or very challenging at all. If you want to hunt zombies look else where. This title will only leave you hunting for your pillow.

Definately a slaughterfest

I played this game on the X-box and it was so-so.
I thought it was overly frustrating. Some of the mission objectives were hard to find... especially amidst the ever-spawning zombie hoards.
Also, in multiplayer, you can get your team-mates stuck on the scenery.
The aiming system was extremely annoying. Often it would aim at some inanimate part of the scenery instead of the horrible monster trying to kill you.
There was a lot of counter intuitive scenery as well. There were many instances of iron fences that you could easily see through but could not shoot through. Another example is a barricade of cars that you cannot shoot over even though you can readily see the zombies on the other side.

I think this game could most succinctly be placed in the survival gothic horror genre.

Maybe some of the bugs have been fixed in the gamecube release? Otherwise, one might wish to steer clear of this title.

Hunter, a good role playing game a good video game

Hunter is an excellent Role Playing based game it is based upon the original Hunter The Reckoning first done by White Wolf. In its gaming time it has lost all but 4 of the original 9 character types, but that doesn't make the game any worse. As solo this game can be challenging and on Multiplayer quite a fun time. It is much like the Gauntlet Legends of today. For such a low price it is a good deal. In stores though it can be hard to find. Going around and killing thousands of zombies is the basic plot of it all. Along the way you meet up with a vampire who insists upon being called Carpenter who reveals the reason the dead have risen again. This game is a little lacking in the story compared to the original but with all the action going on its OK. Overall I loved this game and think that if you are into things like Resident Evil and Gauntlet Legends then you should at least try this game

Good quality game

This game was very mindless but addictive, especially in multiplayer. The gore wasn't too bad since you have a faraway view, but the boss monsters were very gruesome. It still doesn't matter much since it is not much of a horror game, like Resident Evil, where it is very tense and disturbing. This game is more of a fun party game to play with your friends. The characters were cool, each with their own magic, ranged, and melee moves. I like Martyr the best with her cool knives and duel pistols. The hordes of zombies are much more fun to kill with friends. Not much of a single player game.

multiplayer fun...!

Hunter The Reckoning ... the only strong point is its multiplayer capability (very addictive), but even with that, there are still flaws.

The storyline seems pretty obscure and silly. I won't go into it. Just know that along the way, you have to kill tons of zombies and other monsters, and save innocents while you're at it...

There are 4 characters, two guys and two girls - choose wisely, especially when doing single player. You vs. 23974238 zombies = one frustrated you. However, you can't really note anything special about these characters (or the bad guys, except for the bosses) because the graphics TOTALLY SUCK during gameplay. As someone else noted earlier, they do look like something from N64 - and we're already on a Gamecube here. The graphics aren't very smooth, you can't really see much detail, and not a good use of colors, except... well, grey/black.

Also, there is no changing in camera angle, and at one point, freakin LEAVES were blocking our view as we were about to be slaughtered by zombies. I'm sure other things can block your view as well, but I haven't played very far in the game.

Your character automatically comes with an unlimited ammo. weapon (yay!) but reloading on the battlefield takes awhile - it could cost you lots of health if you're not careful. I found it a little of a hassle; that and switching from weapon to the other countrols. I kept on hitting the wrong thing; too many icons to choose from and the zombies are closing in on us!!

Really, the only strong point is the multiplayer part. It's always fun in groups, yes? You'll have fun screaming at your friends to protect Kayleigh (the little girl) from mass hoards of zombies; screaming at your friends to move so that you can get out, and so on. There's something thrilling about running around pressing R and blowing the brains out of monsters with your friends.

If you have three friends who are up for some button mashing and joystick manuevering while killing zombies and other foul creatures, yes, by all means, play Hunter The Reckoning. It's quite addictive. If not, then I suggest you pass this one and find a better game.
