The title of my review says it all. This game is absolutely amazing. The last 3 installments of this game were pretty much garbage but they really pulled things together on this one. The gameplay is a fun and ingaging. It has good graphics. And for the first time the game characters actually look like the characters in the movie. There are many fun and interesting levels and hundreds of places to explore. I would reccommend this game for people of all ages and hope you realize this is a gaming experience you cannot do without.
Excellent Follow Up to Azkaban!

This game is quite impressive. I have been a follower of these games since around '03, and have seen them get progressively better. In my opinion, the games hit their peak at Azkaban, and leveled out at that point. Of course, the first two games were stunning in their own ways.
Overall, this is a fun, challenging and innocent way to spend 20 bucks and a few hours. Well worth it!

It's about time. A fun Harry Potter Game. What you have heard is true. This is an action Harry Potter game. I love it. It will keep the attention of anyone who has not been a fan in the past. This is because this is an action game where as the other potter games have been a hunt for and talk to collect-a-thon. Is there talking this time? Yes, but only while you are fihghting. In fact, you do not have to read anything if you do not want to. Excellent audio samples and voice acting. The game is fast, fun and creative. You will casts numerous spells. A big complaint has been that you don't pick your spells, you just always press the same button and perform whatever spell fits the situation. BUt I like it. It would slow down the action if you had to go through some menu, and it would limit the spells if they were limited to the number of buttons.
Bottom line: Great action game. If you remotely like the series, you will finaly love the game.

Harry Potter and the Gobler of Fire is a game which of coarse deals with magic and adventure. You can learn new charms and hexes during the game. To beat 1 of the 10 levels you must find shields and depending on the level you must find more or less. People have been complaining about how you can not chose which spell you are going to use, well they lied. You can chose your hexes yet not your charms. You can put out fire, stop screwts from firing you, and other mayhem during your fourth year at Hogwarts.
Many people have been complaing about the fact how you can not move around much during your 1st task and your 2nd task. The computer points you in the direction to go and you steer. What do the other people think? You can fly all through out a huge castle?!? For the 2nd task it is the same case, only you are under water. The game is over all fun. With ten levels in the game there is limited gameplay. When I played, finding all the objects, sub-levels, and other hidden things, I played for a total of 25 hours of gameplay. I am still replaying the game so technicly there is even more gameplay.
You can get power-ups from finding cards like in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and when you find enoughsilver cards. The graphics are very good and interesting. You can play co-op in this game just like in the Prisoner of Azkaban. You can play as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. If you work together you can do cool special attacks. The Y button the your controller is Accio which brings beans to you.
I highly recommend this game to you, especially if you have a friend or two. The view may be harder to see though. So what are you waiting for? Go and get this game.
Starts out fun until second tournament

It starts out fun, but gets boring. After the second tournament, or when you have earned expert level, it becomes too easy to do everything (except Voldemort). I do like it because you can do accio and a lot of other cool spells, and it is fun to gather the beans. The friendship cards make the game more fun.

Harry Potter ramps up the Action and loses some of the Adventure

Previous video game installments for Harry Potter were modeled after the Zelda titles, with this game most of that's thrown out to make room for a more action-oriented design closer to The Lord of the Rings games and the recently released Chronicles of Narnia, but unlike those titles this lacks their polish.
The change in designs is a mixed bag, what's lost is the ability to explore Hogwarts by foot and by broom, find new spells, and solve puzzles, what's gained is a clever advancement system based on buying cards to improve your character stats and upgrade abilities, more of a dungeon-crawling environment that is at its best in multiplayer, and creatively designed challenges based on the Triwizard events that do a good job of breaking up the action. Without a doubt this is also the prettiest of the Potter games with a fairly accurate likeness to the movie.
The problem with the previous games was that they poorly represented the story and they mildly copied a far better game. In this the gameplay feels a little more original(though it does not stray too far from the established action formula) and doesn't warrant comparisons to one of Nintendo's best franchises. The story is also vastly improved because it is told through dark tinted sequences that have a lot of style and present the material better than any Potter game before it.
The biggest flaws for this game are its short nature(you'd be hard pressed to squeeze out more than ten hours), loss of the free-roaming environment of previous games, and the overall easiness of the game. Having said that, it is still the best Potter game in the last few years and a solid title in it's own right. Definately worth a rental and a good buy for rabid Potter fans.
Pretty Good, i guess...

I got this game on thursday and it seems pretty cool, unlike the previous games you do not get alot of practice with the spells before you use them in combat. Also unlike the other games you play a level and that's it. In the levels you just get dropped in there and you have to find a sheild. Some of them you would have to have learned different spells and that throws you off... A LOT! Also in the part where I am in you are in the maze and have to rescue Cedric Diggory, there is no explanation or hints. And it's really hard to find out how to do stuff and you have to use trial and error a lot and that just adds to your time. I would highly suggest starting the game with a friend so that you can help eachother in some of the more difficult levels. The one thing that really got me mad was the water charm. They just make up some spell whereas the water charm is written right in the book!
Other than that this game is really awesome! I would highly suggest it to any Harry Potter fan, though those who have read the book might find it dissapointing.
Hard, glitchy, and repetitive.

This deffinatly isn't my favorite Potter game.
The graphics, yes, are brilliant, but everything else seems like it was rushed and needs longer to work out the kinks.
There are times when you try to obtain an object using accio, or even just running, and your character would just freeze up. Quite annoying, really.
Some of the levels are insanely hard, or for me at least. You have to go back to certain stages over, and over again to obtain each little thing that you need to unlock the next level..
The worst part is that a lot of the levels are very similar. Use a spell, summon a shield, kill a dugbog, push twenty buttons at once in a certain order.. Blah blah blahh.. Same old thing over and over.
Those are just my opinions, though.. Who knows, this might be your favorite game if you're into that kind of 'level select' and ordering stuff.
One thing I did like about this game was being able to play as Ron and Hermione.. I can't say I loved the card system, but I did enjoy trying to collect all of them.
A little of both...

When this game came out I was already making plans to get it after Thanksgiving. I had my money and, finally, I bought it. All I can say is this: this game is both disapointing and (dont want to say fun) "interesting". On one side, there's the fact that you cant explore the castle like on the previous games. Also you cant switch between characters during gameplay, which really sucks. The camera seems to have a life of its own, and I'm currently stuck on the First Task. On the other hand, you can play in Co-op mode, so I can play with my friends. The button layout is good, ending those transitions between spells less frustrating. The graphics are good, and the vibrating control just adds to the good side. I just hope that when EA makes Order of the Phoenix (which is a long way ahead) they go back to the old style of the games, but leaving some thing from Goblet of Fire as well, like the Co-op mode and the button layout. Unless you are a real Harry Potter hardcore fan, I dont recomend this game.
