Great game but with some minor flaws

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 4

This game is a great game to anyone who likes Role playing games or is a Fire emblem freak. Since there is to many things to write about , I'll just write my review with pros.

Pros

- Better fighting animations than the past Fire emblem games

- More ranks and more new types of "laguz" to use

- Shows cut scenes

- Ability to create your own weapons or magic

- The game is long (the past games were short)

- Way better graphics

- Great story line

So the game is basicly good but if your a Fire emblem vet you will find it losses its touch on how a fire emblem game is.

It's ok, I guess

I Saved 50 bucks for this game, and I guess I got my money's worth. It's truly amazing, the Laguz are a nice add on, too. However, it can agrivate you sometimes when you can't get past a certain place, or survive for some number, or when you can't recruit another charicter for some reason or another. Easy mode is good for noobies, but the final battle just sucks here. The Extras are good though. Sound room, trial maps(extra battles), theater, and art work are the extras. so overall, it's an ok game, but be sure you have something to punch alot nearby just in case.

Worse game ever made

Fire Emblem is too hyped. I've played other Tactics games but Fire Emblem is the worst of the crop. Don't know why people think that a game that you can lose you character at anytime of the game forever is fun. There is no levelling up that you can control in the game, you have to go with the story flow but your enemies outgrow you in immense pace so your character will be eliminated in no time and having that annoying face showing up on the screen telling you he / she is dead. Even when you character levelled up , the stats is so random that sometimes he / she just levelled up but with no improvement in stats at all. Since most of the time they only level up inside the game, if their stats don't go up, tough, they are doomed on the battle field. The number of enemies you usually have out grow you so much that they can basically kill your characters in one or two hits. If you don't want to lose your character, time to reset and do the battle all over again. I have no idea why people find this kind of game fun and challenging. Disgaea and FF Tactics are fun because you grow with the characters. They can die but you can revive them so you won't be losing your hard work. But in Fire Emblem dying forever is just as easy as drinking water. That sucks man.

Also I could not believe that even up to now, Nintendo is still forcing people to read all the long winding dialogue instead of having actual cut scenes. The limited cut scenes in the game are pretty budget in terms of graphics.

I personally think Fire Emblem doesn't deserve the fame and hype around the franchise. If you are a gamer who enjoy hating a game to make your life meaningful, this is the type of game you should play.

Makes everyone a perfectionist

I don't care if you say that you are not a perfectionist, this game will bring out that side of you. It creates the need to have your entire group survive from battle to battle. I have played a battle over and over till I figure out a way to have everyone survive. The story is good but not great. But it is just a lot of fun to play. I am tempted to go back and pick up the GBA versions of the game so that I can keep playing it while I am on the road.

The game's focus is on creating strategy. And once you have a strategy built around you characters, it will get tested over and over again. This testing will cause your characters to gain levels and suddenly you need a new strategy to handle more powerful enemies with characters that gain news skills as you go.

I did find the class change to be limiting as you can cap out (as a class caps at 20 and you have two class levels so in essence you can cap at 40.). But other wise I wise buy.

Fire Emblem on Game Cube

This is a great game!! There are lots of new units like dragons and the story line is prety good. It has the weapon triangle like the rest of them, but the magic triangle changed which stinks. But, still in this one, you can give your units extra experience, you get to forge your own weapons, and you can change the color which is cool. The graphics are a bit better. But, still the same types of batte maps. Overall, this game is awesome!!!

Worst game I have ever played

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 5 / 35

Wow. Fire Emblem is one horribly designed game. 75% of it is listening to the characters talk. And by talk I mean you see pictures of them on your screen with nothing but their mouths moving and eyes blinking and written below are what they have to say. It gets boring very quickly. On top of that the fighting is almost like playing chess, you move your characters around through squares on a board and you never get to actually attack any enemies. All you do is initiate the attack command and they show a little video of your targeted character hitting the enemy and maybe them hitting you back once. It's monotonous, cheap-looking, and not very fun at all. My advice to anyone considering buying this game is to rent it first. Then you can see for yourself how bad it is before wasting your money on, in my opinion, the worst gamecube game ever.
