i dont like this game at all. no good graphics, it's hard to control your guy, this game is terrible. it's hard to control your guy because when you press down your guy goes foward. whats up with that. and your not alowwed to not play carrier, no free skate. i like this game for pc. its awesome on your computer. i suggest you just get this game for your computer, not for gameboy. and don't try to install thps 2 to your xp, cause it won't werk. i tried. good game for pc, not for game boy advance.

The Ps2 version is 10 000 times better

I dont understand why everyone says this is the best game. I recommend that whoever considers buying it rent it first to c how overated this game really is. If u have played the Ps2 version of THP3 u will be extremely dissapointed. The disadvantages to this game is mainly that the useless graphics the extremely hard controls and the impossible missions added to the terrible view u are forced to play from make this game on the bottom of my GBA favourites list.

It's alright...I guess.

One of my favorite games for the GBA is Tony Hawk 2, so I thought I would give this one a try. Tony Hawk 3 definitely has more things to do (such as create-a-skater, multi player modes), and the graphics/sound are a bit improved. I only have a couple of complaints.

1. The layout is too crowded. I like how Tony Hawk 2 had more space to breathe, so you can pick up speed, etc. In the new version, I find myself bumping into all kinds of objects which gets frustrating after awhile.

2. The pedestrians walking around is a good idea, but I wish they would do more than just walk around and crumple to the floor when you run into them...maybe yell out profanity or chase you??? The ones that knock you down as you pass by can get kind of annoying also.

That's about it...if you can deal with the above complaints, then you'll probably like this game. I haven't had a chance to play the multi-player games (none of my friends own Tony Hawk 3 yet), but I'm sure it would make for some exciting action.

Peace...

This game is exactly like THPS2 for Gameboy Advance. It is a fun game with good graphics, but don't buy it if you have Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.

One of the best GBA games on the market

If you are debating on whether or not to purchase a GBA system, and have enjoyed the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series even just slightly, then this game will convince you to go ahead and buy the system. Simply put, TH3 is that good.

TH2 on the GBA was a sharp effort, however this latest version takes it to the next level. The graphics are better and provide more detail. The levels are huge, and more realistic. And the sound, an area which has long suffered on hand-held systems, is top-notch.

The only flaw I discovered results from the "almost 3-D" game perspective. There are areas on each board that are hard to navigate due to the gamer's perception. What you may think is a flat area of cement is actually a ditch, for example. The only way to correct this would be to make the game 100% 3-D instead of the bird's eye view that it presently offers. I don't think that the hand-held market has gotten to that point yet.

Don't worry though, Tony Hawk 3 is still at the top of the heap.

worth the wait

Activision proves once and for all that an enjoyable skateboarding game can be done on a handheld console. Forget about the Hawk games on the Gameboy Color--those are horrible. If you enjoyed the Playstation/N64 versions of the Hawk series, then I would recommend buying Hawk 3 for the GBA. There are a couple of flaws, but overall the game is worthwhile...

Good stuff: phat graphics, large levels, several pros, lots of tricks, realistic action, create a skater

Not so good stuff: control scheme can be frustrating, certain areas on each level are almost impossible to navigate, depth perception issues, "living levels" translates into a couple of pedestrians walking around aimlessly that fall down (or punch you) as you skate into them, game is too easy

Words from an Game Boy expert.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater is a GREAT GAME. I highly recommend for ages eight and up. The reason for that is because there is some reading involved, and you have to find certain things, and run some errands for other people and stuff like that. There is blood in this game but you can control that by picking how much blood you want your guy to bleed or you can choose not to have any blood at all. (I know it sounds wierd) One of the things that I loved most about it is that you can create your own skateboarder. And another thing that I liked was If you start using a certain skateboarder for a while, every once and a while you get to improve his stats. Oh and one more thing I noticed is that when you first start playing it feels a little wierd trying to make the skater go one way and goes the other and stuff like that, but don't give up cause you will eventually get the hang of it. Well I hope this review was helpful to you.

This game is off the chain. The graphics are some of the best I have seen on GBA, the sound is tight, and there are tons of tricks to bust.

The controls take a little time to get wired, but once you do, its all good.

2 beefs though...some of the levels are too cluttered and you find yourself bouncing off rails ledges staircases etc like a pinball. also you cant choose your specials

Thps3...or 2

This is truly a great game and will be awesome for those who have boughten Tony2 for Gba the reason are because the levels are much more expansive, and if your like me you memorized the Tony2 levels pretty easily. The game however has a much different setup from any of the other ones such as you cant buy decks, but unlock them in levels, then find them in level. you can buy stats ( we found out that was way to easy in Tony2) but rather you find them in the levels. the hidden tapes are much harder to get to, as well as doing certain moves on, over, or in certain things. Guess what its a game where one thing effects another. for example once you find the four earthquake challenges an earthquake errepts, and thats the only way to get the hidden tape! Let me tell you about the other aspect of the game. The camera angle is the same os Tony2 for gba, as well as the controls. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN PLAYER! ( every stat he has starts out at at the same level, which i like) There are people and cars in this game, such as find the five pickpockets, one of your quests if you will. Choppy graphics for people, but very fluent for eveything else. (the reason i gave it four stars is the player graphic, i mean come on you see him all the time right?) Good game buy it please.

This game is off the meat rack, plain and simple. Fun to play, great graphics, lots of tricks, and innovative levels. I really like the lil' skatepark on the suburbia level. Lots of cool lines to be found. Anyway, this game is worth the loot--lots of replay value.
