amazon ripped me off

I went to this to see what kind of game this was and amazon told me it had a level editor, so i went out and got it for dreamcast and, what do you know? It turns out the level editor is only on the pc version. next time, get your information correct before you broadcast it nationwide.

Okay, that's ENOUGH

I hope i'm not the only person out there who isn't tired of Lara. It's not just the blatant pandering of her body, but the fact that the Tomb Raider games have been using the same graphics with minor tweaks for years now. And still she sells. I'm confused. The only difference between the old Tomb Raider games and this one is that now this game is on the Dreamcast, so the graphics don't seem to be the same old thing over again. But I'd say let's move on people. They say Lara's dead in this game anyway, so let's let her die.

An OK game undone by glitches

I found certain aspects of Chronicles to be a bit annoying and disappointing (like the fact that the four sections of the game are separate events and weapons and other items do not carry over between sections). Overall, though, the game was decent enough until I got to the last level. There, I stumbled upon a number of serious bugs in the program, including one that killed my game and forced me to start over. The frustration caused by this took almost all fun out of this game.

Avoid Dreamcast Version

If you have to get this game, either get the pc version or playstation version. This game is full of bugs. I reccomend the playstation version because of its stability. Once you get past that the game is not too bad. Also at the end of the dreamcast version there is a glitch that can wipe out your save.

Fair Game but not the best

It was hard to give this game this rating, but I feel it was required. They did improve game play and details, but has the story goes it was only fair. I mainly blame that you are play short stories. So that can't be helped.

The only thing I have against the game was the short running time. The past titles took forever to get through and would pose a challenge. I went through this like it was nothing. The first level also doesn't give you much ammo has well. One thing I found funny was that since this was a prequel, which by the way I'm getting sick of seeing, how come she has new moves that she didn't have in the last. I know that's a poor point and I already know that answer. It is just something I feel needed to be said.

Really my last grievance I have for this game was the end. Who here never feels sated when they finish a TR game. they are normally short with no real closure. You but your but for tons of hours to get some cheep end that just leaves you wit more questions they you started with. Don't even get me started on the end to the Soul Reaver game.

I do see the level editor giving you more and that could be a great application to be added if they ever make an online option for the TR games one day. You can design levels and play others from all over the world. Talk about a challenge. This option also give TR a multi player option. Make a level for your friend and time how long it takes for him/her to get through.

It is a good game and if your a TR fan I saw play it, but rent it first if your not a drop dead fan. If your any good you'll buzz through pretty quickly. Good stories, but not what the adventurer in us would like. We need more. I can't wait to see what the next TR game has planned for the PS2 release besides the new outfit, and improved graphics. You'll be able to see all those fine curves.

After seeing the Tomb Raider movie I had to get the latest installment of the game. I figured since my PS2 only does Japanese games, and Tomb Raider isn't out for that yet, that I'd get the next best thing. Although the Dreamcast enhances the graphics better the PSX (not sure about PC) the controls are extemely difficult, and the game is more frustrating then it is fun. ...

TR: Chronicles Review

Chronicles is clearly the most refined and engaging Tomb Raider game to be released so far. It has some unique play mechanics as well as some intresting and fun levels. The only problem is that the core gameplay is basically unchanged. You won't find anything new or exciting here, just more of the same, which depending on how you look at it is a good or a bad thing. In the end if you think you haven't gotten your fill of Lara and her boobies than by all means pick this one up, you'll enjoy it. On the otherhand if you have gotten tired of the formulatic and traditional TR formula, then leave this one alone. You won;t find enough here to draw you back in.

Lara Croft revived and alive

For all Tomb Raider fans this is the swan song for the series. To start with the sound, graphics, and controls are are improved and updated. The graphics this time around in the four new worlds are oustanding that feeling of exploration is alive and well in this installment. Also the controls feel a little more intuitive than the last time out (dreamcast version). It is a very large game world rife with strange exotic sounds and visuals also this time around they have added a little thief technology and your stealth skills will allow you to pass by enemies that normally would have started a J. Woo style gunbattle in older versions of TR. I just saw the ad this morning for Angelina J. as Lara C. it appears as if the Motion Picture of TR is not going to disappoint fans of the series. The level editor is not available in the DC version like the above blurb states so beware. For all of us yearning for a real TR title for the DC strap on the 45s and start exploring its fun in here!

A good game, truely, I'm not kidding!

Well personally I love Tomb Raider, have ever since I got the first one a long time ago. However even a hardcore fan like me is starting to think maybe enough is enough. I mean maybe, just maybe this is one too many games with the same name. Still even though I resisted a long time(notably till the price went down), I gave in and bought this one too, it's an addiction I guess. After I brought this one home and started it I was expecting the same old stuff that we always get. Namely minor upgrades, MINOR I say, and some more same old same old levels and junk. This game seems to be a lot better than all that though. I was expecting to hate it like I did TR 3. However I actually LIKE this game. I'm suprised that I do. It still has just MINOR upgrades and sure it still has the same old stuff and uses practically the same engine from the Last Revelations(TR4), still this game has a certain something that has been missing for awhile from TR games. I'm not sure exactly what that is, but this game is actually good. Still however I don't think it could stand alone without the other games behind it. But amazingly enough I actually recommend this game to old TR fans out there. Don't let it get away, especially after you have already played all the other ones! And besides, it's cheap now.
