Even Robotech fans will think this game is a disapointment

First off, I really like Robotech/Macross. Unfortunately, this game is not great at all. The game can be easily finished in 30-45 mins and the levels are very repetitive. The graphics are ok and the sound is below average. There is some replay value in getting your fighter to max levels and unlocking new characters but after all the fighters are maxed out, it is very hard to tell the difference between them. The action figure that comes with the game also sucks...its completely static and can't pose at all.

A solid sidescrolling shooter

Like Defender and other classics, in Robotech you fly, you shoot, you dodge, and that's basically it. Ok, you get to play in different ships, but the concept is the same. I saw a dude playing it on the subway the other day and it looked gorgeous on the GBA SP's sidelighted (or is it sidelit?) screen, so I knew I had to play it. It does get boring after a while and you knuckles will start hurting, but the graphics is so good that you gotta play it at least once. I'm keeping it in my library for the times I feel nostalgic about 2D shooters.

I enjoyed playing the game because it was fun. What you basically do in this game is fighting with robots, and shoot missiles and laser balls. You can become a jet, a robot, or a half robot/half jet. This game is fun and hard. I really enjoy playing robotech.

Very Frustrating But Extremely Fun

While most of the other reviewers say that this game is to hard or to short I think this game is very good while it lasts. I mean it is a little short if you only clear it once but try clearing it with every single character including the secrets characters and getting all their stats full. Now that might take a while.

A great game for it's price.

This is a typical Shoot the bad guys 2d side scrolling game. It is fun with a great plot and VERY DIFFICULT, I reccomend it to anyone who is going on a trip or anything and needs a good game to keep him busy for a week, thats what I got it for.

It is hard but fun

This game is very hard but it is pretty cool when you get the hang of it. It is a good game for fans of robotech but is too hard. I can get past the 8th level but not the 2nd.

Very Schway!

This is basically just a remake of the SNES game MACROSS: SCRAMBLED VALKYRIE. It is very much like Iridion and R Type DX4, except for one change: Your Valkyrie. Meaning that it can change between ship, Valkyrie, and Battleroid. They each have different attacks, and you can play as Rick Hunter, Lisa, or Max. The attacks are the same between people, however the Valkyries' main color changes. All in all, this is a very good game. Oh, and it comes with a very cute exclusive Super-Deformed figure to go with the other 5 that are already released.

A Very good game

Even if you don't know what Robotech is (best Anime ever) this game is great for anyone who loves side scrolling shooters. The music comes straight from the show; including the main theme and even Rick Hunters theme all redone and sounding great for the GBA's limited sound capabilities. The graphics too are amazing. About the only bad thing I can say is that it is extremely challenging. Switching between Battleoid, Guardian and Fighter modes doesn't give many advantages for any of them like in Battle Cry (Robotech for consoles). Those two things aside, this game is amazing!
