I LOVE THIS GAME TO PIECES! IT HAS EVERYTHING I WANT IN A MORTAL KOMBAT GAME! THE GRAPHICS ARE BEYOND EXCELLENT! THE GAMEPLAY AND MUSIC AS WELL AS THE SOUND ARE SUPERB AND COOL! OH, AND THERE ARE LOTS OF WONDERFUL FIGHTERS, MANY OF MY FAVORITES! AND THE ENDINGS ROCK! HERE IS MY FIGHTERS AS I RANK THEM, THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE I HATE! HERE IT GOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scorpion-My # 1 favorite Mortal Kombat fighter of all time! He's just as great in this game as he is in Deadly Alliance! Everything about this guy is just so darn perfect!
Reptile-Yup, I've fought him and overall he is a challenge! He has a cool look, a cool acid and tail attack, cool claws, & a cool weapon! He's also my # 3 favorite Mortal Kombat fighter of all time next to Scorpion and Sub-Zero. I can't wait to unlock him and play as him! He rocks so big time!
Nitara-She is so cool and so sexy! She's also a vampire! She has cool hook weapons, she can spit blood, she is big and powerful, and she has some cool moves and such a great ending! I love this vampiress! She is, in fact among my favorites!
Shang Tsung-I've played as this guy, and though he's cool as a boss, he's cooler if you play him! His fireballs and sword are so cool, and his getup is just awesome.
Mavado-Of course he's one of the best villains ever! He uses hookswords(which are weapons to be reckoned with)he can cause major damage with both his hands and feet, and on top of that, he has lots of discpline and skill and is fit to be a fighter!
Raiden-The thunder god of Mortal Kombat! I love this guy! His powers of lightning and huge strength are intense, and he can use his staff like a dream. Nice godlike costume, too!
Johnny Cage-This guy is both skilled and funny! He is a great karate fighter, he can fire green energy, and he uses the nunchuckus. Plus, he wears cool sunglasses.
Quan Chi-The final boss and a spectacular villain! He is both challenging and cool looking. He uses the broadswords well, and his moves I can't begin to describe.
Hsu Hao-One of my favorite villains of all time. He is powerful, ruthless, and nearly indestructible. The laser from his chest really rocks, and so do the huge swords and billy clubs he uses. Oh, and he's a big guy, too. Boy, HE ROCKS SO MUCH! SO MUCH!
Cyrax-This guy's okay. I mean, he's got cool attacks, like the grenades and glowing sword, as well as his chest buzzsaw. Plus, he's powerful anyway. I have some liking for him, but he's okay only because there are fighters I like better. But not the worst.
Bo Rai Cho-Man, I hate this disgraceful excuse for a sumo. He traps his enemies by puking, and he has really dumb attacks. He sucks and relies too much on his bulk.
Drahmin-He sucks even more than Bo Rai Cho. He uses FLIES for a ball of energy, he is a rotting zombie, and he relies far too much on that club of his. Oh, and his mask is stupid looking, too.
Sareena-Probably the fighter I hate the most. Her moves are sorta dumb, she only appeared in MKTA, and no other MK games, her weapons are not all that sharp, and it's very hard to use her. About the only thing good about this pathetic fighter is the fact she is beautiful and sexy, and wears a bikini. Other than that, she sucks.
All in all, and overall, this is a wonderful game. I am looking forward to unlocking Noob Saibot, and as it says way above, unlocking Reptile. He's cool as an opponent, imagine how cool it'll be when I play as him. Anyway, if you like Mortal Kombat or any sort of game that involves fighting, I recommend this to you completely and entirely. You will love everything, the fighters, the graphics, the music and all stuff in between, as mentioned before. This is a work of gold to add to your collection of games. I love it, and will keep it forever and ever, and so will you once you buy it.
Goodfella

Mortal Combat: Tournament Edition rocks! It's just like the original. Although, I'm finding it difficult to use "fatality" when you have to "finish him or her" I use Johnny Cage, Nitara, Raiden, and Scorpion.
Portable MK At it's best

Without a doubt this is the best Portable MK Game To Date. for those who never played the older MK gameboy games lets just say mnay of them were lacking in different areas (except MK2 And MK:DA). Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition is more or less everything from the regual console version of MK;DA taht didnt make it into the GBA version. Thats a good thing. It still has the mini Krypt. and features a total of 15 warriors. many of which are hidden. 3 of which are not at all in the MK DA Console Or GBA game. 1 of which has never been in a MK fighting game 9however they were in MKM; Sub-Zero. the action game). all in all there more then enough to keep u busy for a while and its game worth it. The controls are very smooth. not the same as the regual MKDA Console Controls, but not at all in a bad way. I My self have 2 copies of this game i liked it so much.althow there are no alternate costumes there is differnt color combos to give each warrior. for example; scorpions costume can be chnaged from regualr yellow to grey (smoke), green (reptile), red (ermac). and a few others. on the secrets menuthe alternate colors are listed as
scorpion: smoke
scorpion: reptile
scorpion; ermac
exe. so they were obviously meant to be used as alternate warriors (seeing as reptile and smoke have used scorpions moves in the past this owrks out great) also cyrax has an alternate Grey/purple color listed as "Smoke" so seeing as theres 2 smoke costumes in the agme i supsoe he counts as another extra warrior.
Test your sight and test your might are in here as well.
over all the game is VERY VERY VERY VERY Underrated. I recomend this game to anyomne who wants a portable Fighting game.supriseingly this agme can be connected via the GBA Game cable to a copy of MK:DA. unfortunalty only 3 warriors cane be used. they are the only 3 warriors that appear in both games.
and for the Sub-Zero Fanatics out there let me say HE'S NOT HERE!!. However Reptile Is. For those of you who like Mk for the storyline let me say this. one of the hidden warriors has an ending which involves the death of goro. it's very strange that a Minor Portable title would contain such a major plot point. weather or not it will stay canon only time will tell. but it's worth checking out.
over all it get;'s a perfect 10. a rareity for a Portable Title.
and thats saying something.
good not great

man this game is cold! my favorite character on there is kung lao.i hope in mortal kombat 6 midway will put sarreena, noob saibot, and sektor in it. and on tournament edition,if midway wanted people to love this game like a brother, the should have put the weapon fighting styles in it.and put liu kang and goro and shao kahn in tournament edition.but overall, this game is the best since mortal kombat 4.
A continuation of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance GBA

Mortal Kombat Tournament is basically a revamped "Deadly Alliance."
"Deadly Alliance" was a an excellent fighter that featured several characters from the Mortal Kombat universe. There are many different fighting styles, fatalities (the final death blows for each character) and so on. MK Tournament is basically the same thing with different characters- although much more fantastic(there is a robot, a vampire, a lizard creature as oppose to the regular human fighters).
There are things I dislike about Tournament. Some of the backgrounds and the sound effects are the same as Deadly alliance (Midway could have made some different sound effects). There are some new features like "Race to Raiden" and "Tag Team" but its nothing mindblowing. Tournament is much more geared to multiplayer modes so it would help to have a friend you can play against.
Ultimately, I am recommending this game just because the previous game it's based on is an excellent fighter. If you already have Deadly Alliance, you may want to wait till the price drops a bit to get this one (Of course, If you are a die-hard Mortal Kombat fan, then by all means get it).
It's not a flawless victory, but it's close enough

More like a companion game to the GBA Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance than a sequel, Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition is nearly identical to aforementioned game, and is just as fun to play. The graphics are exactly the same as the GBA Deadly Alliance, which is a rather good thing considering how fantasticly animated and fluid in 3-D they were on the GBA's small screen. Control is as simple as it was on Deadly Alliance, and as in that game you can earn kombat koins to use in the game's Krypt Mode to unlock different costumes, cheats, and fatalities. Also, you can link MK:TE to the Deadly Alliance game to unlock new characters as well. The fighter roster includes old fan favorites like Raiden, Johnny Cage, Reptile, Sektor, Cyrax, Scorpion, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi; while also including characters from the console versions and ones new to the series. Even though the gameplay between Deadly Alliance and Tournament Edition is basically the same, TE is worth picking up soley because of the multiplayer modes which fully display how fun this game can be. All in all, if you already own Deadly Alliance for the GBA, you'll definitely want to check this out even if you decide not to buy.
