Although I like the overall design, I have been encountering performance problems such as graphic details, the screen flashes in different sections with horizontal and vertical bars,and running problems such as the game tries to connect on the internet, although I'm not playing on the internet, so it just shuts down.

I am actually more Age of Empires 3 like rts fan and stay loyal to non sci-fi game plots with historical settings like colonization of america, ancient periods, but bought this ROL to tri something different for strategy fix. This game has tons of stuff to build like districts and research techno in labs. Visual effects and pirotecnics are spectacular, units from ground infantry and mechanic mobils to air support planes and dirigibles.

The multiplayer requered me to download a huge patches but after i loged online there were only 30 to 40 people !!! Thats terrible. Game is highly customizible. If you are tired of routine and want to immerse into some extraordinary fantastic future world a must buy. Maps are standard type, not a huge realms like of Warcraft. But this game is fun & engrossing !!! Dont be scared of learning teck trees unique to each race.

My boys and I fight for turns. We own every RTS game from C&C on. This is the only game we have seen that has continuous surprises and limitless strategies. Best maps ever.

Awesome imaging real good game play.

You'll need a high end graphics card. If you turn the image quality in the game to maximum you'll see the intricate detail they've used to build this game. Lower end cards will work but you don't get the full 'picture'. Zoom action show intense high quality imaging.

Game play allows for the player to watch the action without the need to speed all over the map trying to reinforce armies.

I really wanted to give this game a chance. I really did. It looked very nice visually in the screenshots released. But unfortunately there was an utter failure to deliver. The concept of one single linked city was nice. I'll give it that. However, the core mechanics of the game (units etc) were horrible. I would have to say they were even less creative than those of some of microsofts older games such as Age of Empires etc. So in addition to the game mechanics feeling clunky, they also felt outdated.

Basically, overall, the story wasn't that good, the units were uninteresting to say the least, and given the multitude of other options, and I really wish I could have had those hours back.

Should have waited on this one.....

Crashes Every 5 minutes

Very dissapointed I a High level gaming box and for some reason this game crashes every 5 minutes...I am talking hard crash I have to do a full shut down. Never had a game that was so bad...even after three patches and 3 hours on the phone customer support no one has a clue. When you spend $300 on an "gaming" audio card...you expect stuff to work....WORST GAMING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

read this before you get this game!!!!!

Ok I bought this game about five hours ago and downloaded it and I was dissapointed that I couldn't play it because i got twice as much of the requirements but, I needed a graphics acceleration card so I haven't gotten to play it so I gave it a three.

Sound issues? There is on my computer.

After playing both rise of nations and the expansion thrones and patriots, I was a little sceptical because Before I bought the game I had learned that now instead of the normal rise through the ages of real life history untill modern days, they went for the magic vs technology, I was somewhat unsure if I'd like the game. But after witnessing the game first hand I was very impressed. The game has good graphics and awsome gameplay the only trouble I had with it is all I could here in the game was the music, voiceovers, and when you click on a unit or building they make some noise, I couldn't hear for example the gun shots, the noises the buildings make without clicking on tnem, or the foot noises that the huge units make when they walk. But the thing is I doubt that it was the game that was the problem I thoght it was just my speakers because I could hear thing slightly when I zoomed in on the unit or buildings I figured that I was having problems with the sound because I had surrond sound speakers so it was screwing with the noises on the map there shouldn't be a problem my sound card is more than adequate. But I never had any problems with other RTS games, anyway I dont know why its doing I'm not a computer Genius, But regardless of the sound on my computer it dosn't bother me that much so I guess I'll just have to live with it, but overall a very good Game. And for all the people who complain about games that have good graphics not having good grapics its not only the game people ITS YOUR COMPUTER! have you ever thought that it might be your computer that sucks, I'll tell you one thing I may not be a computer wiz but you want a computer the over exceeds the games requirements it will make for a better time, you should have smooth running game without any problems.
