To quote a memorable Nintendo ad: "Next person to call them "cute" gets a fireball in the butt", but in this case it's a red shell. This game isn't perfect, but it's close enough. The Graphics don't look too good in the screenshots but... In motion they're better than the SNES, and that's VERY good for a handheld. The Great Mario Kart Gameplay is still intact, with several new courses and a new cup (lightning) to keep things fresh. One of the things I like most about the game is that you can pick a random driver (for those times when you just can't choose) . Sound is excellent, with taunts coming from all around you as you race to take the top spot. The only fault is that after you get the gold in everything, the replay value takes a serious hit. But if you are new to the mario kart series or you just love the game, BUY IT NOW! It will keep you busy for a few months
Pros: -Great Graphics, sound, and gameplay
Cons: -Low Replay Value after you get all the gold cups (Seriously)
Overall: 95% An extremely safe bet. You can't really go wrong with this game. Just don't go in expecting a really massive racing experiance.
A great game, but not perfect.

Mario Kart Super Circuit brought back fond memories of the original Super Mario Kart the first time I sat down to play it. The graphics are very similar to (but actually a little better than) Super Mario Kart's, and the control is, thankfully, like Super Mario Kart's instead of like Mario Kart 64's. There are four GP circuits with four courses each available from the beginning and a fifth one waiting to be unlocked. The eight available characters are very varied in their strengths and weaknesses and each character can be used to one's advantage in the game. So why did I give this game three stars instead of five? Two reasons.
The first reason is the severe lack of options, especially when it comes to button customization because there is no button customization option. This can severely hurt gameplay. Example: I have very large hands. Because of this, hitting the L button to fire/use an item is a very awkward and distracting task. I never use the brake when I play (if I ever need to slow down I simply let off the gas), so if I was able to customize the buttons, I would make L the brake, B the gas, A the fire/use item button and I would leave R as the hop/powerslide button. I can use R much easier than I can use L because I don't have to use the control pad in conjunction with R.
The second reason is that the battle mode courses aren't available to single players. None of my friends have a Game Boy Advance, let alone Mario Kart Super Circuit, so right now I'm out of luck if I want to play multiplayer battle mode. That's why I think the battle mode courses should have also been made available for single-player games against computer opponents at various levels of difficulty. If nothing else, it would at least have given me a chance to play on the new battle mode courses which is something I won't be able to do until one of my friends gets a Game Boy Advance and Mario Kart Super Circuit sometime in the future.
Overall, Mario Kart Super Circuit is probably the best racing game available for the Game Boy Advance with its impressive graphics, its variety of characters and courses, and its classic gameplay, but I don't think it's as good as the original Super Mario Kart.

I recently rented this game and I am very glad I didn't buy it! I think this game is a disgrace to the rest of mario carts previous games. The sound is TERRIBLE, and that includes sound effects. the power ups are the same, though the graphics have terrible animations. Last and certainly least the steering is quite bad, its hard to get around and your always crashing itno the wall and slowing down as soon as you hit the third cup its actully imppossible to win. This game is definatly not what I expected, and I am a big fan of mario cart.
It's Fan-riffic

Many people may make assumptions on this gem of a portable video game. Well, they shouldn't. Get out and import it like I did and play it, and you will see how much fun this game is. It is a Mario Kart game, how could it not be fun?? You'd have to really try to rush and produce a bad game for a Mario Kart game to be bad. Even with the sub par graphics the N64 produced, Mario Kart 64 was a fantastic game. The graphics in Mario Kart Super Circuit, or Advance in Japan, are excellent and the sound is up there, too. The thing with Mario Kart games is the loads of replay that these things have. I constantly play this game and will continue to untill Capcom re-relases the original Mega Man games all in one cartridge for the GBA. Seeing how that is unlikely to happen, Mario Kart Super Circuit will spend about as much time in my GBA as Castlevania: CoTM did. If you had any doubts about this game, I have two things to say: 1) Why?? 2) The game is nearly flawless and a perfect portable racing game. My only regret is not being able to understand Japanese and the absence of the handy power slide. The coins make up for it, though. Buy this game when it is released.

I have the ROM image of the Japanese version and it is great! The graphics are spectacular, and the characeters and their karts are nicely done. The worlds are full of color and fun to race on. I am definitely getting this game when it comes out here!

Mario Kart Super Circuit is worth buying and a great addition to your Gameboy Advance game collection. You get all the favorite characters: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Peach, DK, Wario, and yes, Bowser. Peach and Toad have the best speed, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi have average speeds. Those are best choices. The slow ones or heavyweights are Bowser, Wario, and DK.
You also get new tracks like Cheep Cheep Island, Ribbon Road, Yoshi Desert, and Bowser's Castle 1-3. You can link up with other players and race together in a sudden death match! You get the rainbow boxes with all the weapons. Like lightning, shells, and banana peels. Don't forget the ULTRA POWERFUL STARS!!!! You go at top speed and when you hit a racer they crash or slide on the track leaving them like dust.
You have to get in 1, 2, 3, or 4 place to go to the next track. Get high points so at the end you become one of the top three!! If you do you get the bronze trophy if in third, silver if in second, and the BEST, GOLD if in first!!!! Think you got what it takes to be a chart toping racer? Then racers, start your ENGINES!!!!!!!

It's the best game until after a while it gets boring. Then try buying Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and it will not get boring. I think in a 2 years the Game boy Advance will be obselete. Remember this is just MY opinion!!

I wanted this game so badly that I bought it on the day it was released. I was a bit uneasy about my choice, thinking for a minute that it would be hard for me to control.Totally opposite! There's 24 tracks, four of which you can unlock only by winning 5 cups of four tracks. It was amazing, and also even more fun with three players! Buy it, is all I have to say! ;) Hope I helped.
