Great Campaign, even better multiplayer

I started out borrowing this game from a friend for like a month, but now its been 3 months and he doesn't have his game and im still happily playing it. I used to play Halo 3 a lot more than i have recently began to play this game. It requires strategy and thinking tactically. It also challenges your sense of hearing and seeing. The campaign is thoroughly well done, making it feel quite realistic and enveloping. Online multiplayer lets you join in the middle of games and lets you readily keep track of your stats(K/D ratio, win/loss ratio, headshots, assists, etc.)The weapons are all real modern generation weapons, all customizable to ur liking. The only thing i could say isn't good is the annoying voices of 10 year olds screaming in your ear and using the vulgar language that they don't know, plus the fact that there are some glitchers or people who use turbo controllers. NO, I do not work for Infinity Ward or Activision. Good luck and have fun on Xbox Live!!!!!!!

Awesome Game

This game is great.
MultiPlayer:
Similar game to Counterstrike with different objective style games such as Bombing the targets or halo3 style where its just straight team deathmatch. Also has free for all and some other gametypes. I hated the earlier versions of the games because of the old style weapons and the feel of the gameplay, this one is 100x better.
The maps take some time to learn as well as the weapons. Until you learn the maps you have no idea where the enemy will be coming from.
Cons: There is no way to review the scores at the end to see who had the most killing streaks, head shots, kill ratios, etc. Also unlike Halo3 there is no guest spot for online multi-player. If you have a friend who wants to play your stuck playing against him only in 4 player local splitscreen with no internet play, which sucks. The only way to play online with friends is for them to be on a separate xbox with a separate xbox live account.
The multi-player is highly addictive and fun. The maps and guns are well balanced. The search times are very low(sometime instant because you can join games in progress) and the lag is usally low compared to Halo3. The guns are modeled after real guns, there is gun recoil, and you die from any guns with just a handful of bullets(unlike halo3 where you can take about 20 shots before dying)

Single player:
The single player is awesome as well, though I beat it in about a week, without devoting the whole day to the game. I'm sure it would take longer on a more difficult setting. The missions and effects are creative, though sometimes it feels like there is an endless supply of enemies until you figure out you just have to advance forward for them to stop respawning.

Sweet Game

The campaign mode is short but fun. The online multiplayer is the biggest part of the game and it is one hell of a ride.

I have had this game for a long time absolutely the most fun multiplayer game i have ever played period!but at one point when i had prestiged for the 4th time i got the RROD on my 360 and had to send it in to get fixed.so missing the action i bought it for my ps3 in the meantime had to start from square one on prestige.the ps3 version was very dissapointing didnt have the graphical flair the 360 had.some text was missing on creat a class.some sound effects were missing.this game was definatley geared more for the 360 fan base.and the ps3 server for playing online was awful. connection was always getting interrupted causing games to end early.xbox live only had those issues maybe once a week.so get it on xbox 360 you will be glad you did.

Nearly Perfect!

Too bad I cannot give this game 4.9 stars. It was that close. Everything good that you have heard about this game is true. There are just some things that seperate it from a full 5 stars.

Actually only 3 come to mind:

In the single player mode, some of the AI characters who are "Force Recon Marines" are Privates (or paygrade of E-1). Perhaps the creators just didn't research their rankings enough. In the American military you advance up to E-3 (Lance Corporal for Marines) after 18 months, any Force Recon Marine would already be long past the rank of Private.

The second mistake was also related to rank. Captain Price is an O-3 (3rd officer paygrade), yet 15 years ago (in the sniper mission) he was a young Leftenant (an O-2). If he was a leftenant 15 years ago he should be at least a Lt. Colonel (O-5) or Colonel (O-6) by now. Yes O-6 in the Navy is called Captain, but then he would be placed in a desk job in any case. Either way for him to still be a Captain he would have had to have been reduced in rank several times, and have higher-tenured out (released prior to retirement for failing to pick up rank in a set number of years).

The third and last gripe I have is with the sniper mission. Great mission. But the sniper rifle you use when posting out in the Hotel is supposed to be the barrett M107, which was not around 15 years ago, when that mission was set.

These may seem rediculous, but hey, 5 stars doesn't come easy. Wish I could give them 4.9 stars, but 4 will have to suffice.

An addictive time-waster

This game is tons of fun in online mode. The single-player mode is fun, too, but it has the same design as others in the series where you have limited ammo and unlimited enemies until you move to the next checkpoint. Keep this in mind or you're screwed.

The graphics and sound are fantastic! See and believe. The weapons have been tweaked so they're more balanced in the game, and less accurate representations of the accuracy and damage of the real things, but so what.

The online game has an innovative system where you earn upgrades by reaching certain achievements, such as a 25 kills with this weapon or killing X number of enemies using C4, and so on. It's frustrating that you can only use two of these upgrades ("perks") at a time, so you can't have increased bullet damage and red dot sights and increased health, but I guess it evens out the game.

I'd give it five stars but a couple of online maps are sub-optimal and really annoying, but overall it's still a blast to play, and if you like first-person shooters you'll be stuck on this for ... a while.

If someone blew you up with a claymore, it's probably me. Sorry.

I like it.

I like it for work pressure relief. Great graphics. You are able to shoot weapons that you can not normally get your hands on including "Puff".

My Thoughts? - Amazing.

This game is amazing, you have to get it. It has a great campaign mode, even though it is extremely short. I was able to complete the game in about 6-7 hours. However, the graphics, storyline, and gameplay are excellent and keeps you sucked into the game.

The real killer however, is the online multiplayer. Call of Duty 4 has a revolutionary game engine, and is one of the best multiplayer games in my opinion. Levels and ranks lead to better weapons, perks, attachments, etc. This gives you a goal to strive for, and the prestige mode (where you start all over but get a special symbol) is great for bragging rights.

Overall, i'd highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys first person shooters.

Amazing in all facets

A game that stands the test of time. I've purchased GTA IV, Madden 2009, and several other games and this is still the one that resides in my 360.

The single player is short, but adrenaline-laden. The slow-motion sequences at the ends of certain levels (mile-high club, and the final showdown on the bridge come to mind) are so good that I've replayed them several times!

The multi-player is incredibly fun and engrossing. It's the reason my best friend bought a 360 of his own. All you need is 10 minutes, and you can have a blast on Free for All, or spend more time on one of the "big maps" playing ground war. It's well worth your time and money.

Take it from me...if you look at my reviews, I'm stingy with a 5-star rating, reserving it for only the best (think Resident Evil IV, etc.). Drop a few bucks, and indulge in this one before World at War brings fans back to the reality of prior CoD games...

Sooooo Good....

The stroy, controls and overall fun factor of the game ranks up with ne there with the Halo franchise, as well as Splinter Cell's (both outstanding in my book). The one dissapointment, in general, being the campaign was MUCH too short. Whatever happened to a game that took two weeks to a month to beat? Nowadays, we're down to a day to a week at most in the vast majority of new games. Nevertheless, multiplayer is untouchable and the realism factor (on hardcore) is pretty intense, though I still think Battlefield:Bad Company wins the "Best" award. Now THAT was a cool story (but also too short of a campaign!) Another thing thy mighty game designers have been leaving out is Co-Op Campaigning, one of the greatest features of any game, regardless of the story. Theres just a cool concept of runnigna round with a buddy and tearing shi- stuff up. Otherwise, AWSOME game.
