Way to hard

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 2 / 5

Well, At first 4 levels, I did enjoy the game. However, after 5th level, the game producer somehow decided to put enemies with projectile weapons. They use RPG, fireball or explosive kunis. And believe me, those enemies can shoot you from far far away. (I played the easy mode. Can't image the normal or higher difficulty ) This kind of stage designs really really drag the overall rating of this game.

The story is boring, no puzzle, stage design is annoying and the frame rate is not stable. I recommend you buy the ninja gaiden - black instead of this one.

Still Hitting Hard!

The original Ninja Gaiden was an incredible feat of gaming. It alone brought the franchise back in full force into the 20th century. Assuming you don't require Ninja Gaiden II to do the same thing, it will be the best action platformer of the year if not longer. This game doesn't do anything new, which in many ways isn't a bad thing at all! It takes exactly what was great about Ninja Gaiden and made it faster, stronger, bloodier, harder and more beautiful than ever before. I have to admit, I believe they did have to tone down the visuals on the environments a bit to maintain a steady 60fps (frames per second - 60 fps is what game developers strive for to provide fluid gaming experience), but this doesn't degrade the gameplay a single bit. In fact, if you would just stand there to look at the environment there is a good chance you would become headless very shortly.

"Why should I buy this game?" Instead of going into all the details regarding what rank the graphics, gameplay, sound, etc are 1-10 i'll just say why this game might be worth purchasing or not.

WHY I SHOULD BUY: The game has solid and fluid gameplay complete with amazing visuals are great mechanics. The game is a great challenge complete with a nice variety of weapons, all providing you different fighting styles and advantages, as well as making the game extremely hard to put down.

WHY I SHOULDN'T BUY: The game is a great challenge, but it's also so hard that sometimes it might make you put your controller through your TV. To some that is nice but to casual gamers that can be a turn off. The Story, though many will argue isn't important for a game like this, is almost non-existent. The Camera can be very annoying as well. Often you are attacked by people you do not even see. This can be avoided by using the left shoulder button and the right trigger button at the correct times to keep the camera behind you or looking the way you want. Eventually if you get into the game enough, hitting these buttons becomes part of your fighting style but a lot of casual gamers do not want to invest that much effort into something many other games make automatic.

I would greatly recommend this game to hardcore gamers and casual alike. They have an easier mode this time around for someone just getting into the world of Ryu (main character). There isn't much that goes wrong in this game but it's not for kids or those who hate gore.

Go get it!

This has been one of the most fun games I have ever played. that being said if you get pissed off a lot on other games you might wanna avoid this game. this game is very hard and challenging but very fun! the final boss will want you to throw your controller at the tv. but its a really amazing game. if you like fighting games you gotta check out this game! just be prepared to get angry at times...

Brutally hard, tons of fun

The game has some technical issues and a little bit of cheapness in some of the boss fights (to be more specific, after the boss fights), but holy crap it's fun. All of the weapons are fantastic -- current favorites are the scythe, the "Wolverine" claws, and the dual swords. Ignore the senseless story and enjoy the senseless violence.

Hack and Slash is fun!

I was slightly skeptical having played all of the older Ninja Gaiden games but I bought the game on a whim and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. I was surprised at how much fun hacking and slashing as a ninja can be! It doesn't really get old slashing off an arm and then coming in for the execution style kill! Storyline is so/so but for what the game is, I didn't really need it. The other reviewer is right on with the map statement. It's a little linear and if they could have made it less linear and added a map, it would have put it over the top.

I'm a little upset there is no co-op online play, but overall, I had a lot of fun with this game especially given its history.

Ninja Gaiden still has it on next gen console

I loved Ninja Gaiden since I was 5 years old back on the NES. Now it's only gotten better (as you'd hope) on the newest generation of consoles. There are some camera flaws, and the difficulty has gone down due to the new health system, but overall the experience has only gotten better, with faster action and more beautiful cinematics.

I recommend this to any Ninja Gaiden fan who owns an xbox 360.

A must have if you enjoyed the original X-Box Ninja Gaiden; Team Ninja really took this title to the next level. If you decide to play this game, be sure to stop and look at some of the wonderful environmental programing within this title.

If you loved the original, this is a must

Though still not for the faint of thumbs, this game still provides the smooth and intuitive action and beauty of the first and its ancestors. The easiest difficulty is now much more accessible to the average gamer as well. A must have for the serious action/adventure gamer.

Frustrating and Rewarding

Ninja Gaiden 2 is not a leap above its predecessor instead only a step. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Ninja suffers from a strange camera which gets stuck also zooming in at different times and a steep difficulty. Ninja 2 is a bit more friendly in difficulty but is still frustratingly hard in spots but that is the reason I play it, no matter how insurmountable the obstacle, persist and you will win and how victory is sweet. The graphics haven't changed much from the first game, this isn't a drawback just a testament to how well the graphics were handled before, HD, some extra textures, dirt and weather effects are nice additions. The greatest flaw is the polish lacking in story and mechanics of the game, six more months of work would not have hurt Ninja in the least.

Got confused!

Level 1 was lots of fun but at the save point at the end of the way I did not know I was supposed to jump on the roof, and I did not know I was supposed to press A continuously but I tried it. I ended up in a lovely park with a bridge and water. I tried jumping after I kept going in the direction I came at the end of the hallway. Finally I got to level 2, and that was the hardest level ever! If there is anyone stuck on level 2, it isnt in the strategy guide, but I found a big secret. When you shoot the bow and arrow anywhere, there is a red dot about the size of 2 grains of salt put together that you cannot see. When you see that dot, focus the camera and move the dot to the very center of the target. Then release B and the trigger, and if the dot hits the center of the eye, Bullseye! the gate opens! After playing more on level 2, you go up on a balcony and find secret rooms with the camera. I thought I never would find them. Again, there is a little red dot. Center it in the middle of the room and BULLSEYE!
