I've had this router for 3+ years. Bombproof. Never had a single problem that could have remotely been traced to this router. I really don't know what else to say.
Full disclosure: I work for MS. But if something doesn't work, I dump it. And this thing has been nothing short of perfect.

I am in the I.T. industry. When I get home the last thing I want to do is mess with my home equipment. I have installed over 15 wireless networks for friends and family. Everytime its a linksys or a netgear and they are a complete and total task to install.
Enter the Microsoft broadband router. I have had it for 5 years now and it has worked flawlessly. My only issue is I cant find it in stores anymore because Microsoft for some reason decided to stop manufacturing them. Its a shame because I would recomend this to anyone. If you dont want to constantly wrestle with setting up epuipment this is the router for you.

Good functioning router for local, home use. Could be a bit challeging to integrate with internet provider/modem, depending on what you use. Don't expect to get top data transmission; too many variables within each network system.

I've had this router for a while now and have tolerated it for far too long. The firmware is no longer being updated and Microsoft blatantly ignores the large amount of customers who have complained for 2+ years about connectivity problems. Google the model number for yourself to see common complaints.
It boils down to this unit being unstable. Connections will drop frequently. Windows mobile devices in particular have a hard time connecting. And in general the device does not respond nicely when you disconnect/re-connect.
Be sure to read one of the reputable online review sites before you buy (this applies to any computer device)!
Great router, too bad it's gone.

I've read all the negative reviews and don't know quite what to make of it. I and several colleagues here at a major aerospace firm have been using this router for at least 2 years with no hitch. Installation was easy, connection both wireless and direct work flawlessly. This may all be a moot point now, but we who like this great working product just had to put our two cents in to defend a good and well thought out working router.

I've had this router for some time now and I really like it. I'm not generally a Microsoft guy, but they have done a really nice job engineering a quality router. I would recommend this router over all others.
very reliable and easy to use

I had my wireless network up and running within 20 minutes after opening the box. I have mainly WinXP Pro machines running on the network, but I also have a Win98 machine running on it with no problems whatsoever.
Please note that if you have no idea what you are doing, setting up ANY wireless network will be difficult. But if you even have a small idea of what you're doing, the documentation and wizards really make this product easy to set up and configure.
I've used this product for over a year now without a problem.

Despite all the negative comments that all the Microsoft haters post here, I can say that I have had this router for more than a year and haven't had any problems with it. It has a pretty good admin interface, and you can get used to it quickly. It is stable, and I don't remember having any disconnects when I finalized all the settings. I had a D-Link Super G D-624 (?) and that product was x2 expensive and wouldn't work, period.
I can open ports on this router and make my webcam, or my webserver available to my friends, I can access it's settings from the intranet or internet; it's protected by the password. I disabled SSID broadcasting, setup encryption, using only MAC address recognition, changed the password for the admin access, and totally forgot that I have a router somewhere on my network.
Would be nice to see if MS comes up with the next model sometime later. But, there is an MS Broadband Network client running on some of my PCs and it tells me when it's time to upgrade a firmware or local software. And, the router itself is running Windows CE OS. If you have problems with your current router, you may look for this one as a safe replacement.

I NEVER have any problems with this router, no drop connection at all. I've used Netgear and Linksys before I switched to MN-700. They both made me crazy and if you call their tech, good luck! They sent you to India and don't forget to come back here and let us know.
