Like others, I was hoping this compilation would continue where Wii Sports left off. Yes - I don't need a sports game to exactly imitate the real thing. Just make it fun and challenging. Unfortunately, this compilation is rather poor.
From my perspective, most of the games use the same motions - up, down, left and right. For instance, you use the same motions for volleyball, soccer, badminton, and basketball. It's basically the same game repeated 4 times. Lame. And is it just me, or when you play volleyball, does it seem like the game controls most of your moves?
Then there are two racing games, kart and motor bike. Unfortunately for Deca, I bought Mario Kart and it just makes these two race games look horrible.
Ice Skating, Snowboarding and Archery are pretty unique and fluid. It is the main reason I gave this at least two stars. My 4 year old enjoys these 3 games. But any adult will get bored of all these games within 30 minutes.
Bottom line - I wish I would have rented this game first before buying it. But at least it was priced at $30.

Deca Sports gives you 10 different games to play. I've found that everyone finds at least two games they enjoy. Each game has only a few commands to learn, but when you try to learn all the movements for all the games in one day it can leave you frustrated. One of the biggest advantages of these games is that multiple players can play at the same time. Nothing better then a little family competition(?). There's not as much physical movement for the players as I would have liked to see, but the games are fun.
Frustrated but willing to try it again

I was excited at the potential this game had and looked forward to trying some of the different sports offered in this package. We bought the game late Saturday night and had an opportunity to play with it Tuesday night.
The first problem we encountered was trying to activate the multi-player mode. We selected it and tried to start a game but were only allowed to select 1 player. I repeatedly read the instruction book that only indicated "after setting up the hardware". I setup multiple remotes with the Remote Control commands repeatedly to no avail and even switched my remote order around through reconnecting them. Finally I logged onto the Hudson Entertainment forums and discovered I needed to use the red button under the battery cover to connect multiple remotes. I've never had to do this for other games. It was incredibly frustrating. After an hour, my wife and I were finally ready to play the game.
The first one we tried was badminton. We figured it would be similar to tennis from Wii Sports. The response seemed inconsistent with swinging the remote and required some pausing before swinging. We completed a couple of matches and went on to the next offering.
The next game we tried was curling. My wife and I were very excited to try this game. It took a little time to change or expectations for the controls but we finally got used to swinging the remote down to push off the block instead of swinging out like bowling. Gauging the power properly was a timing issue but we could hit the mark 75% of the time after a few throws. We enjoyed this game.
Next, we tried kart racing. My wife is not very good at driving games and I haven't yet tried Mario Kart for the Wii so we didn't have high expectations for the game. It was ok. After getting my wife to orient her remote properly she did much better. We played through 4 or 5 races and got a good feel for the controls. Again, they felt a little loose but ok.
Finally, we tried archery. It was fun if jerky. The box over the target did not move smoothly as we tried to zero in on the target. Instead it seemed to teleport from place to place around the target as we moved. My wife picked up on the controls and did well in our two 6-shot games, scoring 33 and 46 out of 60. The best I could do in two games was 30.
Overall, we only tried 4 of the 10 sports on the game so far. We'll try the others this weekend. The controls did not seem as responsive as with other games. I had hoped for a little better with this game. Curling is probably the top pick for me and my wife.
Easy and more Fun than I expected.

Deca Sports is more than I expected and a lot of fun, I really enjoyed the Basketball and the GoKarts. I found the Archery to be a little bit to easy and my family and I racked up high scores. Up to 4 people can play at one time, and while you can't use your Mii, you can select your character and for Basketball or some other games, your Team. The book that comes with the game explains each team and their strengths to you. Deca Sports is totally different than WII sports, but I found myself surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. This is due to the fact that I resisted purchasing Deca Sports due to reading the poor reviews on Amazon.com. However, as a very young family member said to me, he is 9 years old, everyone has their own opinion? Deca Sports is fun for up to 4 players and at the end of our evening, I found that I did enjoy myself and so did my guests and my family.
If you love Badminton, you will love this game.

I first played this game at my brother's place and I couldn't wait to get my own. I am a big fan of Badminton, and actually I am a semi-pro badminton player myself. What do I have to say is that the badminton game feels like a REAL game, and the controls feels like you are swinging a real racket. Since you are not controlling the movements of the player, you will need to be patient not to swing too early, i.e., wait till the player closer to the birdie to smash or drop. What is really satisfying is that you can even deliver a faked smash, jumping high in the air to fake the smash, but drop the birdie. While receiving the drop, you may drop back or return it far to the back court, just like play a REAL game!!! This is so fun and both my brother and I got sore arms after playing a very tense game.
All in all, I love BADMINTON and the Deca Sports simulates it VERY well, and I really enjoyed it.
Be a kid again!

These games are fun and challenging! You will enjoy every minute that you and your family or friends are playing. Laughter prevails while watching each other attempt to "be the best." You won't regret buying this item.

This is a fun game but some of the controls are hard. My brother bought this game for the Wii; he thought some of the games where hard, but I liked them. I think this game is good for some 6 year olds and up.
Played it twice - collecting dust

This game is a waste. I was expecting a lot more along the lines of wii sports. Man was I disappointed. The controls are horrible and the games lack everything that makes wii sports great. If I had to do over again I wouldn't have purchased this game. It collects dust now.
